When there are fewer people on the server, there will be more drops. You will definitely get more drops when the server first comes ups after maintenance before of that reason. At 18:00 to 02:00 (server time), the drop rate increases to compensate for the extra amount of people on the server.
This event is a bit of improvement. Although it still needs Store/Galeria items to get the rewards, players can participate in it without bying the extra letters. They can always gather the pouches and sell them afterwards.
I wouldn't be very optimistic on getting something good from this event though. NC has a histrory to maintain...

Does all party members have to play the instrument or just the party leader? I Tried it with Kamael/Human/D.Elf/orc in party with party leader playing the istrument and nothing happened.

all in party need to be playing an instrument, be that 7 of the same race or a party of 3 existing of different races and then yes you'll get the buff which is quite nice :)

In addition to the Letter Collector event, 9<sup>th</sup> anniversary musical instruments will be available in the L2 Galleria for 1 NCoin (http://store.lineage2.com/store/detail?goodsNo=369510&categoryPath=1_7) (one per account). These instruments are tied to your character’s race. If the leader of a party of 3 races or more or 7 party members equips a 9<sup>th</sup> Anniversary Instrument and plays for the Dancing Cat NPC in town (near Angel Cat), then you will receive the 9<sup>th</sup> Anniversary Blessing for 4 hours. The 9<sup>th</sup> Anniversary Blessing gives +5 to all Stats (CON/STR/DEX/INT/WIT/MEN) and vitality is slowly replenished overtime while your character is in a peace zone.
Official site says only the leader of the party needs to use an instrument... This is what I did (party of 3, Dark Elf, Light Elf and an Orc) and guess what? No Buff :mad:
no... it's as I said cause thats what I did.. got event item on 3 different race chars and played in front of ze kitty and talked to it -> voila all got buff..

Come on... three different races have to use the instrument... party leader and two others. Party leader talks to the Dancing cats and alakzam buffs for all three.
Most people don't realize the party leader has to talk to the Dancing cat to get the blessing. Descriptions says "plays for the cat" so people assume you just stand there, it doesn't say you have to talk to it, which is what is confusing people.
Very nice job Gm's you ruin game and add more bugs then you fix to try stop bots but what a fail there is more bot as before.Thanks for amazing services :D

Again NCSOFT ***ed up everything and made an event just for bots...
All the farming spot's are full of bot's... NCSOFT tell's us that they need to help them by reporting bot's, but nothing is happening, yesterday i farmed for 1 h in Bloody Swampland and got like 40 pounch's now i farm for aprox 2 h and get 3... If the event is related to how many bot's are playing then IT SUCKES, just killed 3 pt's of them in Altar of Shillen and other 2 pt's appeard in 15 min.

IF the GM can't manage the bot's try to hire more... AND MAKE THE GAME FOR FUN FOR THOSE WHO DON'T USE 3th party program's

Read up... is because of the bot parties in the farming zone, if they are many WE the IDIOTS WHO DONT USE 3th party programs don't get event drop's because there are too many ppl on the server.
so you want people to play your instruments and stay in town logged in to get vit and if people do that less drops on the server...
hunted for 6 hours only got 1 RIIS pack to drop this event is another joke..
I'd say the event is kinda fair.. not "omgextraultahiperOP" items falling from skies, and even with a small fee in NCoin (what is up to player if he wants to spend in more pouches or not), everyone can participate and gets some cookies.
I just farmed my dualclass a bit, and in the meantime, got enough event drops to turn with the Cat NPC, and was thinking "ow, not that bad. far from worst, it's enjoyble. well done NC".
and I have to say I love this nostalgic feeling.. everyone in B grade-looking armors. My DE SS just rocks with her white-long pants.
Where did you farm mate i'm farming/killing bots in bloodyswamp for 4 h and got like 8 event drop's.... in this time a pt of bot's with 2 healer's got like 4 drop's in aprox 15 min, time that i needed to kill with low lvl char the healer's.
So is it fair?
Me farming my *** out manualy 4h got exactly 8 event drops
Normal ppl drop = 4H=8 DROPS
1pt of bots farming auto 15 min 4 event drop's
Bot pt drop = 0.25H=4 DROPS
And i dont want to think that behind that pt is only one player nice drops in 24h autoplaying....

NC cry to us, report bots and bla bla bla, but tell me, how the hell i should do it? I can report one, yea ONE char from the full party at every 30 MIN... there was 7 char in the pt, so i need stay 3,5h near them to report the whole pt. The second thing: i can report 6-8 char, idk exactly per day... Pls its a joke.
Guys u did this event for botters... Really cant imagine an event, where we not need farm? Like that pvp event... but that participation price was a joke too... How can go to the event a player who has a lvl 40 char?
A little thing: make an event with bosses. Drop a boss into an insta for 3-5 pt, all need participate, then summon they there, and they kill the boss. You can do it for all lvl's... I think its not hard. Bots dont go there, like how they dont go to K85... One boss/one char on every day...
I saw an other event on an old free server. There the gm's did an event, where they asked some question about the world, history, game etc... ofc just "easy" questions. The players just need answer with an order char like %answer, or etc. It's an other event, where the bots cant play...
The bot thing... i cant realize why u can't stop the botters with us, if we report them, u do NOTHING, its shame...
PS.: The NCSoft should get a new staff... coz how i see the current is useless... or they just not want to do, what they should.

Because i have tryed 3 farming zone's for my range of lvl for 3h each and got:
Fairy - 4 drop's (2NCSOFT, 1 Together and 1 RIIS)
BloodySwampland - 7 drop's (3NCSOFT and 4 Together)
Altar of Shillen - 4 drop's (2NCSOFT and 2 Together)
Soo 9HOUR's and 15 DROPS, and you are telling me that in 4/5h you got 25 RIIS :eek:??? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?
IF you get 25RIIS, then how many NCSOFT and Together are you getting in 4 or 5 hour's?
One is a level 40 area, with a character level 40 with an Iss in party to stay at level 40
One is a level 97+ area
One is a level 80+ area.
That's the best tip regarding location I will give you. You may also try to play between midnight and 2AM : less people, but still prime time = more drops
Yes again NCSOFT made an event for 3th party players.
Proof:
Played again today in bs 2h got 5 drops.
After i stayed other 2 h near a bot pt, and just colected event's.
The bot pt is from SMPLFARM clan.
IN THAT TIME (2H) just collecting (because they did not picked up), i got 30 event drops.
For Lord Jesus pis s, guys, take a break. As @Laby said, just observe and open your minds. Just to tell you, while I do the daily in swamp with my dual feoh, I got 5-6 pouches durig only the run for the quest, no more no less - and area is ***** crowded with hordes of bots, yay. I do the quest in fairies area (just love them) and while I'm there blasting right and left, I do around 20-25 pouches in a castle xp buff round, only. 97+ areas drop 1-2 pouches per mob randomly, nice but the trouble and $$ spent there arent worth for event farm, imo. Event for me = time to play and evolute my subclasses, low level dualclass and grind. Also, more ppl on server, less drops :(
And I have to agree with @DarkFulgore, nice event, but the drops (like letters/pouches) should be non-tradable. Only the rewards (but even these ones should be non-tradable too, then you would can pick a boss jewel by event, but if you want to make trades with them, go farm the real boss ingame and acquire it)

40 and 80 lvl areas are worthless for us.
We all in run to lvl our dualclass (and many people their main too),we have to keep doing raids,noone can legitely create low toons for farm event.
On 97+ areas where i played,letters drop rate was ok the first 3 days(assuming we need also to buy some rare letters from l2 store and from AH).Since weekend,drop is almost 0(according to the number of party members).On same areas,same hours,same server so i dont buy this ''according to population'',gms did changed the rate.
Why this?why they destroy their own job?They think we will still buy the L2 letters when we dont have the rest of letters as drops?They dont care if L2 store doesnt maximize sales?How these people are thinking?

Every player can understand,to have these ammount of items needed for so many players to OE,server has to have either 20k population who xp/farm/raid night in turns,or bots has to do it 24/7,otherweise you see what the drop rate is and how many items will ''spawn'' on server if only legit partys who will farm 4 hours per day play.

Good movie / anime on second screen at same time, and I can stay there for hours. I indeed have the time to play beside my CP time. You forgot one thing you perfectly know. After last Wednesday update, all bots programs didn't work anymore. Ranger needed around 36 hours to be back, and you saw bots back again Friday and today. It drastically increased the number of online chars, and therefore also decreasing the droprate.

(i know that because of the Silent Valley/Harnak 1-2/BloodySwamp bot parties, the iss buffed even if the dd was killed...)
The drop rate was great 2 day's (wednesday and thursday) after restart, but with the weekend on the road, pt bot clan's/partie's started to apear i cant farm for exp (not even thinking to the event) on niether of the farming zone for 85+ because of bot's farming for event drops.
And i see unfortunatly that the bot are still on even if is monday...
I recommand to GM to do a restart of the server from time to time soo that the bot's get dc'ed.
Needless to say NCsoft has stopped dropping the "RIIS" pouches to get more sells going to the L2store i collected 25 of each pouch today but none of "RIIS" How interesting Money talks once again.

Trust me bruddah when i tell you ...i frigging HATE NCSoft with a passion and it goes against everything i think about the company when i actually side with the idiots....but this time i have to...so far i have NOT noticed any reduced drop rate on the RIIS pouches and i play at least 5-6 hours everyday...sorry man...i just cant agree with you on this one

Second screen... I think it means that, provided you get your shortcuts and macros on easily reachable buttons, you can press them randomly while watching something else on another monitor. You don't need to actually watch when pressing /targetnext /attack, it's the most braindead thing to do in this game :eek:
Also, you can press "stop" on a movie when you need to concentrate on the game.
But why should I explain it to a member of one of the most known "second screen XP" clans on Naia? :rolleyes:

No,the days i had to devide my screen into 3, main playing,camera 1 and camera 2 are gone .Even then,i had to do it for the fuctioning of game and had a headacke after.There's no real fun if you cant concetrate and feel to ''become part'' of the world of the movie you watch or the game you 'r playing.Big part of sucess of L2 was exactly that, player feels like that the toon he's playing is like ''his body'' he took to live into this world to expirience it.
Many things you dont like in real life dont exist in L2 life,you dont get sick or have accidents,dont feel pain,dont have to recover,dont fell in love and get rejected,dont get old and feel weaker,dont really die and so on.If you dont get this connection with L2,you have no reason to come back for more or try for something ingame as hard as you try in your real life for your real life issues.
There's a very strong link to this and to some theories about mankind and soul,where they believe that a human being is an immortal soul which choosed to get borned to earth into this world,choosed body,family,life,to collect expiriences and when body dies soul goes back into his ''immortal world'' and comes back as a human being into earth after some time to live another life as a different human person.
Many years ago,cinema people were investigating what kind of movie would interest people more and they found out,that people were turning into programs he could take an active part into the developement of story/actions,is there a more active part than the one we can take into our game's and server's story?
