I don't see anything wrong with this (yet), but I'm wondering why this is necessary. I still have no idea why Aion did it. Considering the difficulty I had installing the Aion launcher, I wouldn't be surprised if the new Lineage II launcher will have the same problems.
In closing, when the hell were we going to be informed about this? Aion made their announcement just one day before their new launcher kicked in. Will Lineage II follow suit? Just a one-day heads up?
wasn't too awfull long ago we did have to reinstall a new launcher. I think this may be old enough to be referring to that. but I have been wrong before :)

The description of the new Aion launcher in the link I posted matches the description of the new Aion launcher in Aion's website (http://na.aiononline.com/en/news/announcements/ncsoft-game-launcher-update.php), so I thought this announcement was relatively current. Even Aion's website says, "The NCSOFT Game Launcher is a standalone, streamlined game launcher for Aion and in the future, Lineage II." And that was posted on June 11.
The current launcher allows you to install and open both games. So, given the text in the link, you can reasonably believe that's talking about a new kind of launcher, which further separates the 2 games.
Separate launcher, for unified games through account management ? Strange politics, as always :D
As far as I see, this launcher is very similar to the current Korean Launcher. If I am right, it's the same one but with different parameters when called to execute any launcher.
For example I use the following shortcut to launch the Launcher launching Lineage 2 :

That's also what I don't understand.
Orochigirl, can you please right click the shortcut to launch the Aion Updater, and give me the content of the "Target" field ? :)This is what I see for the shortcut:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\NCWest\NCLauncher\NCLauncher.exe" /LauncherID:"NCWest" /CompanyID:"12" /GameID:"AION" /LUpdateAddr:"updater.nclauncher.ncsoft.com"
Exactly, first unify all games under common launcher and IDs under one SSO, and now create separate launcher for each game?
It's called "404 - Logic not found"
