I just reached level 20, and let me tell you, this game is HARD to learn, there's a LOT to it and it tells you borderline nothing besides pointing you where to go!
1st Q: I purchased lineage 2 WAY bck in the day but didnt play it due to my computer being garbage. (i have 2 copies, 1 for me, 1 for my bro)
-Do players who originally payed for a copy get any kind of perks in game since it's F2P now? (I did not use my original accounts to begin playing but I do have the serials still)
2: What do I buy with my courage points? I chose rogue (human) at level 20 and bought a bow, leaving me with 20 courage things.. I don't know what type of armor I should wear ( I would assume leather or light) but theres no way to really tell what is what in that place. I see salamander armor and then plate helmets and stuff, Salamander for me?
Can I just wear plate? What are the downsides if so? They have same armor values...
3: Is there anyway to use 1-0 as hotkeys!?
4:Can you control using wasd like a regular MMO or is point/click only option?
5: Why do i lag as much as I do? It's not horrid but this game is VERY OLD. My computer is:
Windows 7, 3.4ghz proc, 16 gb ram, and dual 6700 crossfire graphics cards (2gigs each). What gives? I feel like this game should run like butter with max settings... But I still get some short lag spikes here and there loading new areas.. swinging my camera around, etc. Is there something I should due to run this game better on a not old computer?
6. Would anyone be willing to help me out in game? Questing? gear? etc!

1) I dont wanna be wrong (maybe someone more expert on this will help you more), but as far as i remember the codes from old copy can be converted in ncoins, using the code in the website under 'apply code' (or something like that)
2) since from lvl 40 you'll get free gear, free shots, free weapon and free jewels, with the 20 proofs left just buy soulshots D-grade (till 40 you are ok in no-grade)

3) yes, in game: Option -> shortcut -> select enter chat. so you can use 1-0 (and still F1-F12) without press ALT.
4) it's point click mostly, but if you enable the enter chat you can use also WASD (even if I dont find myself at all with it) or arrows
5) Servers have some bugs, like being invisible for 30 sec when you log, from lauch of Lindvior, and some lag too in general. About your PC i pass, I dont understand almost anything of PCs

He is going to be fine without it.The WASD movement in l2 is a bad joke ;] compared to other MMOS.

I do, all the time, its perfect when moving trains since you avoid clicking the mobs and I only use click to move when I'm not feeling like moving with both hands(although I have succesfully made trains without using the mouse at all, the turns are hard but not impossible).

Its far from perfect.In fact it has a lot of flaws.I doubt NC Soft will ever make L2 full WASD.

I've been wondering this for a while since I see a lot of people saying this, what flaws? and how is a full WASD(haven't played any MMO with WASD but I have played FPS and games like GTA)? This is a honest question and not sarcasm or anything alike.
The flaws in wasd is, first of all, related to the crappy geodata, you get stuck very easily, with point and click, however, there's an auto-path system to easy the problems with getting stuck by having the character automaticaly choose a path without trying to get easily stuck (still stucks sometimes tho).
2nd flaw is camera spin, 1 out. of 3 times i use arrows to walk my character starts spining out of control, sometimes the character will also move forward nonstop.
3rd flaw is the response of wasd, it's slowed and delayed, the moment u start to press arrow, half of times there's delay on it, or when u stop using the arrows he still walks some meters further instead of stoping when u stoped giving arrow comand.
4th flaw is the screwed sideways, like Tif said, it doesnt turn properly.
5th flaw is that u run in visual positioning problems where u see ur char in one point where it isn't, due to the delayed movements.
6th flaw, useless on PVP , which is the main point of playing the game.
WASD is useless, never use it, never rely on it. Point n click FTW.
1) Yeah I get stuck but so do I when I use point to click, its only annoying.
2)In the year I've been using it it only has happen to me about 3 to 5 times, mostly is due to trying to do some wierd stuff while turning the camera, and I'm pretty sure it happens to those that only use point to click(some people that I doubt are using point to click get it).
3) Thats lag, when I'm lagless it's smooth, aslo with point to click when theres lag it also gets a delay when starting to move.

6) I use it on pvp, but not much, nor do I use point to click much, most of the time I move by targeting so can tell if its useless or not.
I've never had occurrences of my toon spinning in place while using point to click movement. It has always happened with the arrow keys.
Camera spinning mostly occurs if the player got a gamepad plugged and tries to use it to play.
