High Lag Issues in Latin America

News & Announcements Started Last reply 20 posts
Adventurers,

We are aware that a lot of players from Latin America started having high lag issues as of a week ago. We've been able to confirm that there is currently an issue with internet routing between Latin America and our servers, however this is currently outside of our control. We are keeping an eye on the situation and engaging the corresponding parties to hopefully get a resolution soon.

For those experiencing high lag outside of Latin America please send the corresponding PC and connectivity information to our Tech Support (https://lineage2.custhelp.com/app/ask/) so they may find where the problem is coming from. To gain the necessary information to investigate your issue, you'll have to run our Game Advisor application. The Game Advisor will provide Tech Support (https://lineage2.custhelp.com/app/ask/) with helpful information about your system and Internet connection.

If you are using a router, hub, or switch, please disconnect this device and connect directly to your modem before running this utility. You may have to reboot your modem and/or computer to reestablish your Internet connection. If this isn't possible due to your network setup, please run Game Advisor with the router connected as the information will still be useful.

To run Game Advisor, please perform the following steps:

1. To download the Game Advisor, go here: http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor

2. When prompted, save the file to your Windows "desktop" so that you can access it easily. Please save the file before running it - running from the website can cause file issues.

3. Double-click on the Game Advisor file and then click on the icon of the game you're experiencing an issue with.

4. Click on the "Test Computer and Connection" button and please wait a few minutes while the process completes.

5. Once the process completes, a "Test Result" window will come up. This window will provide you with a link to update your ticket as well as tell you where the diagnostic report is saved. You can also view the report file.

Please attach the report file to your support ticket. If you need assistance attaching a report to the ticket please follow the instructions in the following Knowledge Base article:

Title: Attaching a File

Once Tech Support (https://lineage2.custhelp.com/app/ask/) receives this information, they'll have a better idea of how to resolve your issue.
Maybe tha can be out of your control but I guess you guys need run after this to solve this problems, many players from Latin Amrica play a lot spend time and money with it and deserve your consideration.

I don't think you understand what Vali's post means.

I'll explain the key points.

1.) A routing issue has nothing to do with anything NCSoft has any control over whatsoever, and there is no one to "run after" that could fix a routing issue.

2.) "Out of their control" literally means they can do nothing about it, no matter how much money people from "Latin Amrica" pay them, or how much time they spend, or what, if anything, they deserve.

Your post says "Maybe you can't fix it, but you had better fix it anyway, because I have the mads."
Someone from Latin America, that speaks good english should make a translation of this, because I can bet on it, that many will not understand this and will bring upon us more and more useless "lag here and lag there" topics. :p

Nothing offensive intended.
Thanks for the info, Vali.

Anyways I've found a sweet solution for this problem, a program similar to "BattlePing" or something else used to fix latency but it's free and works fine. I won't tell on forums, if someone wants to check it , feel free to mail me.
Specially "brasileiros"!

And I still hope that you guys find a way to fix it permanently!

Sorry for the D. post. I'm trying to help!

Aventureros,

Huehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehue.

Gibe adena plox.

I'm not selling anything, not even asking for ****!
I was just wondering if it was a good idea in share a free program in BETA fase for a large community as L2. Anyways nice attempt!

Are you guys from Latin America still having crazy lag?
Are you guys from Latin America still having crazy lag?
No, the problem was solved.
The problem is not NC, the problem is Level3.net
All lag problems in last months are related because Level3.net (miami)

On lag days:
5 150 ms 142 ms 144 ms ebt-Bundle-POS1223-intl03.mianap.embratel.net.br [200.230.220.58]
6 139 ms 148 ms 175 ms ae99.edge4.Miami1.Level3.net [4.59.90.9]
7 437 ms * 495 ms ae-31-51.ebr1.Miami1.Level3.net [4.69.138.91]
not that crazy lag but i still laggy
a bit lag... increase in the afternoon of Latin America.
Will try as I get home. I've been using WTFast for the last 15 days or so.
Still having crazy +450ms at afternoon/night. I did another tracert to chronos and authentication servers and the bottleneck inside US still happens(from Miami to Dallas).
Here is the spirit of anti-bot player colorado, banned from forums due to high number of bot reports.

I return to this high lag issues topic with all power of alt accounts to share information.

Lag issue from Brazil.

Considerations
You can play with NET (Brazil) with a huge lag.
You can't play with GVT due to high number of lost packets.
This problem is not problem of NC Soft.

Regular ping to l2authd.lineage2.com
NET 172ms
GVT 169ms

Have a good game players, i'll back to my banned cave.
