Ok i havent played the game for years, Last time i did was Goddess and went up to around 60 then quit for no time reasons.
Im thinking about it now but i just saw the mentor exp went down to 50% from 200%.
Is it worth starting now? If yes, how many hours till i can reach at least 80ish and if yes, which server should i prefer?
If you're Euro go for naia, if you're American go for chronos. The reason I say that is the other servers are not as active and the markets are terrible for sure on magmeld. I moved off magmeld and went back to chronos and I can get into a random kartia in 5 mins. On magmeld if you don't have friends or a constant party...well good effen luck. Every server has it's bot population so I can't say which is worse, but magmeld has gotten bad enough that I caved and paid the money to transfer off it after about two years.
Naia and chronos are the most established and have been around before free to play so the market is better as in prices and items. This is my suggestion to you, you can certainly try any server and see for yourself.
80 won't take you long depending how many hours a day you play. Some people use xp boosters and do it in less than a week to 2-3 days I've heard. So at the very most using a xp booster and vitality pots, you could probably do it in a week or less.

As for getting to 80'ish, it won't take long. Playing 2-3 hours a day I was able to get a toon from 1-80 in under a week. Can go faster if you're able to find raid bosses. If no raids are up, stick with your quest line. The 900 items quests will give you a lot of xp if you collect all 900.

Indeed, it's not completely impossible to do in a week, this feat took MONTHS before Goddess hit lol. Double xp events were the weekends you turned your phone off, stocked up on beverages of choice and made everything snack wise reachable from your desk lol
If I wanted to play a MMO that was fun to play or tried to achieve some level of pvp balance and fairness I'd be playing WoW or something.
I only log in to talk to the friends I've made over the years who haven't already quit (and it is a continuously shrinking list).
Excerpts from a review written in 2004 that is as true today as it was when the review was published.
The problem is that there's an absurd level of inflation in the world. Gold drops from creatures are a pittance compared with the prices of equipment. Level one swords and armor (hats, pants, shoes, etc.) cost about 900 gold per piece, but during the first ten levels of the game the player will be hunting creatures that drop an average of 40-50 a piece. Without going into the math, you won't be outfitted with a full kit of level one gear until your character reaches level 10 if you go it alone. At that point, if you continue to hunt at your level, you're definitely going to need level 2 gear which suddenly costs 14,000 gold per piece! The rest of the game is built in a similar fashion. Everything takes an incredibly long time.
Much has been made of Lineage II's beautiful graphics -- and with good reason. Lineage II is absolutely, stunningly gorgeous. I have rarely seen the original Unreal technology modified into such an appealing form. No matter what race or character model you choose to play, odds are you'll be quite pleased at the physical attractiveness of your character. The player models are matched by well-designed and animated monsters and landscapes that simply must be seen to be believed.
Here's the thing, though. All of Lineage II's beauty is just a bunch of empty pixels ... areas have neither rhyme nor reason for existing, save to provide landmarks that clans can use to get together to farm creatures that aren't really threats -- just raw materials for clan growth. I realized this early on while hunting with my first three clanmates in an abandoned coal mine near the dwarf starting town. The coal mine had no narrative flow, interesting story-style quests, nor any logical progression toward an end-point or boss creature. Players just ran through it to an area filled with creatures appropriate to their level and party and started farming.
They either quit when they find that there's no real "game" here because they aren't participating in player politics or they turn to newbie killing and player griefing for sheer lack of anything to do.
