Im kind of new in this game so excuse me if i sound like a noob. Im a spectral master lvl 83 and i was asking my self what equipment should i use when i awake, so i read that the wynn summoners normaly use light armor and bow for PvE to give more p.atk to the cougars, but also i was reading that after the Lindvior update the skill Superior Weapon Mastery increase your P.Atk to 105% when using a 2-h blunt. So my question is, does bow and light armor is still the best choice for wynn summoners? or should i use 2-h blunt and robe?

what if i told you , you can use light and 2h mage blunt, anyway summons p.atk is ~same with bow and 2h blunt

Not quite the same.
Wynns have an occupational passive that increases P. Atk by an sizeable 105% when wielding a 2h blunt weapon. As such, a Wynn holding a +3 Apoc Thrower DU will still have less p. atk than a Wynn who has a +3 Apoc Retrib. You would need to overenchant the bow to +5 or +6, if memory serves, in order to equal or exceed the p. atk of the +3 apoc retrib.
Not that p. atk is everything.
As discussed ad nauseam on this forum, some Wynns opt for the bow because of the perception that physical weapon SAs better suit the now physically-based damage of the summons. On the other hand, some Wynns choose the 2h mage staff because it enhances their "pocket mage with better survivability" bona fides. There are probably some extreme circumstances where you'll wish that you had one over the other, but in most cases, you can't go wrong using either one.
PS: Yes, I play a Wynn. Whether or not you see me with a bow or a staff hinges primarily on which one survived the overenchant. Right now it's a bow, but if I pop it tonight trying +9, I'll be using a mentee retrib that I keep in storage for such purposes. Ha ha

Thanxs man great answer, i think im going to use 2-h blunt :).
One more question, for PvE i should go for light armor right?

\Can you screen shot this, cause I'm only a little sure I have more p.atk with my bow equip, but I'm at work and cant check.

thats nice you play wynn, but it dont make you know better what wep is better for pve. and this diference between p.atk with retri and bow cmon, with one i had like 15k p.atk on pet with other 15200 p.atk lol.

I think he's right about the passive, although I, too, am at work and can't ss it for you. That's why I use a mage staff on my Wynn. Plus, the bows and the yellow SA stone are way too expensive for me.
he doesn't
just helps a little bit in kartia solo
like i said i have it before lindvior . I dont need adena right now thats why i keep it
it just happens to have both bow/retri so i show you the difference between them
i only wanted to show you the difference between them and not the reason why i need/use those
true the boost from sa is low less than 50 (w/o buffs) but acumen sa gives nothing to pets plus i didnt thought i need it for wynn's skills thats why i put emp sa
anyway i dont have to explain why i did it like it or not this is how i want it
I dont have to make up excuses to call ppl morons.
They do it themselves now :D
in what way acumen will help me for pve because we are talking about pve aren't we ?
the last time i check you can't even find a pt 85+ without at least 1 bot/box in
and if you are 95+ with apo +3 doesnt metter what SA you have most of the time you will not do more than 100 damage
acumen will help me on what ?for marks with almost instant cast? the half sec i will win with mark of fire/invoke or exile etc for pve?
but this is not the point isn't it?
even if it was acumen or i had only bow you will find something to criticize
you are searching the forum to find if someone said/do something wrong or mistake to criticize them
this gives you a meaning/pleasure i feel sad for you :(
if it makes you feel better take it out on me i will not judge you neither reply back and be a part to your condition
but do yourself a favor and visit a therapist is not a shame
It is very concerning to say one way to play a summoner, I tested the 2 ways to play with the class. Light Set with dyes +3 STR / Dex - 1 appocalipse thrower with SA DMG UP. And my current Set with Robe Dyes INT +4 / Wit - 2 Appocalipse retributer to empower and acumen, and was the most liked my pets currently has 8k patack. Formerly had 12k but the damage sumoner both in pvp and in pve is not only the pets but the marks and mark retriver. Do not like waiting that my pets do all the work I have to do simply because I'm lazy. Damage marks the summoner is in the pets hit well but are more for completion of damage, because in the r99 sumoner kills with marks not only with pets!

I don't even use bows. Waste of money. Get yourself a nice amaranthine retributer my friend. Blessed is even better. Get it to at least +4 for the extra cast speed and mcrit. Now stroke it and tell it you love it. It likes it when you whisper to it softly.

A level 94 character (see screenshot in quoted post) cannot equip a +4 Amarantine Retributer.
They need to just use the best PvE setup they can find for their gear level to get to 97+ ASAP at which time it's actually worth your time to worry about PvP.
No, I wouldn't use a bow at 99, either. But I wouldn't make it take longer to get there using a Retributer below that level at the gear quality the quoted person has (which can be decently assumed given the stats in the screenshot).
Naming it is always a good idea. It gives love to it.

They'll be fine. A bow makes little difference to a retributer in regards to pve and even less considering that person will always be grouped up in a party thus contributing 1/4 to 1/5 of the damage done. And considering the type of wars that clan has (I'm not sure why they're even in that clan at that level) grinding openly isn't an option at that level lol.

First, excuse if I am taking on an old post, but I don't find another better to talk about it.
I have a wynn summoner, and now I'm using a 2H blunt - devilish maul (likes me hit everything), but when awakened, there aren't 2H Blunts warrior type, only Dual blunts. Checking the weapon characteristics, in dual blunts it sais: 2-H Blunt Weapon / Two-Handed; but in the name it takes Dual Blunt. I have not any dual blunt to check if superior weapon mastery applies with dual blunts or not. Could anyone with dualblunts check it for me? :):):) I have not used my diplomas yet

Thanks a lot
Only 2h blunts. Dual blunt doesn't work. Also bows are better for raids because of the crit and easier oe.
Then now I don't know what to do :confused::confused::confused::confused: :confused::confused:
I have a Requiem Thrower +2 (bow R) and a Devilish Maul +3 (2H blunt S80), and my p.atk and of my servitors are higher with the Maul than with the bow. Only crit.rate is higher with bow, but being summoner, my critical rate is not so high :p:rolleyes::rolleyes:
From 85 to 95:
Armor: Light armor enchant type.
Weapon: Apoc Bow with Focus
Hat: Crit Rate or Patk.
Dyes: +10 str dyes
My Pets had somewhere around 15k patk after 90 and would crit constatly, therefore making the PVE lvling experience incredibly fast and effective.
(I also have another 88 summoner that I tested out the 2h mage weapon and its definetly missing a lot of dps. That missing Crit Rate is definetly pulling him back)
95+ this is when the wizard out of you starts to surface.
Armor: Light armor enchant type
Weapon: 2h Mage blunt with Acumen at first because at 95 your lacking some Cast Speed and your DD spells aren't fully developed so no point in getting empower just yet. (2h blunt weapon has same patk as bow due to the new passive 105% patk boost)
Hat: M. Atk
Dyes: +10 int +5 Con
This is when you can start enchanting some of your spells so bow is out of the question because you will fall behind in pvp and somewhat in pve instances.
Here's a good example at high lvl even tho my pets have 30k patk each they do not do considerable dmg on a lvl 99 tank. Now if you throw your marks and spells in there, you will start noticing the tank's hp drop significantly.

At Valiance update if you want to go pvp oriented, your equipment must be robe + retributer.
The best setup is to maximize your m attack to play as nuker.
If you want to go olympiad oriented, you go with light armor +6 + buster + shield.
2º Use Robe set and retributers to empower you prefer then put the second SA acumen to olly
3º Use boss jewels, 1 ring Istina one with wizzard, 1 octavis ring and necklace Istina use m.atak hat are essential to increase my magic damage to the fullest.
4º Always remembering that he who kills is sumoner and huge damage when using retriver mark sumoner use only mark + exile to kill combo is to give solo pvp and if healler in almos 1 pt will hardly kill
Hm....i have almost the same dmg as Daranir show above - on lvl 95 with lvl 1 legendary dyes and with Apo bow and without boss jewells :)
But before reuse of retriever i crit 2x with this dmg and.....oh my god i also can use marks and retriever (maybe not with dmg as above but - 2×crit from summons + 3/4dmg from retriever).....so for me NOW at this level regards PvE bow wins.
I know that on higher levels i must complete rewamp my char but we speak abou leveling process.
btw on screen You have 250 p.crit rate - buffless?

oh.....now i see Wizard harmony....
That has always been the case.
This is especially true once you move off the Target Dummies and on to real MOBs and factor in debuffs like Mark of Weakness, Armor Destruction, Critical Damage Increase, Counter Critical (in some cases), etc.
The higher crit from the bow simply scales much better than the increase M.Atk/Casting Speed you get from using a Retributer Setup.

Wertigo I still do not have the jewels but the important boss of boss jewels is critical and critical damage because sumoner and kill a lot but when you exit the critical damage magic critical damage is the biggest game and sumoner is expert at it. If you use 3 marks and 1 mark retriver departing 3 critical damage upon retriver mark can be sure that the enemy will die
I print my dmg in GF for you to assess, because I still believe in magic sumoner setup is better and reapers still has good damage.

A reaper setup is fail at this point in the game. It just is, and that's not going to change. The developers basically obsoleted those pets, and the only reason why you can continue to act like they're still a viable PvE setup compared to the Physical Pets is cause they botched the Servitor Wrath, which is the final nail in the coffin for those pets.
Once they give us the (not as OP, but reliable and 100% uptime) Servitor Wrath next update (from which the M.Atk Bonus was removed, IIRC), those pets are going to be virtually useless.
That screenshot is worthless. I can run to EG and wait for a reaper to crit and then crit retriever x3 and post the same thing.
But we both know if you were to post the full parse of that MOB, the Bow Summoner with Soulless would wipe the floor vs the same race, geared summoner with a Retributer and Reapers. It wouldn't even be close, either.
Soulless Crits those MOBs for 6 digits, at 475+ Crit Rage. Those Reapers have like 225 P.Critical (115 or so with Wizard Harmony?) or some crap like that. The only decent DD spell Wynn Summoner's have is Mark Retriever. The rest are lackluster at best and can't even out DPS the chain casting of a Feoh's weakest nuke.
Boosting nuke damage to gimp pet damage that much, in PvE, is the most absurd thing I've ever seen someone try to justify on these forums.
Think about it like this:
If in PvE the pet is 75% of your damage and your Nukers are 25% of your damage (and that 25% is being quite generous, since we're talking about PvE here it's probably closer to 85/15 than 75/25):
If you decrease the pet's damage output by 50%, and increase your nuke damage by 50%... Would you say it was worth it to go from the previous setup to your current setup?
You're prioritizing numbers that rub your ego over the overall performance of your character in a PvE environment. That's absolutely the wrong rationale for making changes or sticking with a sub-par (and laughable) setup.
No one likes to be "one of a million," but that's not avoidable in this game without making some (often bad) concessions. There are situations when a player may find a better setup than the masses are using, but your situation is certainly not one of them.
Nostalgia is never a good excuse to underperform, and while I'm certainly not a snob I'd probably not invite or just kick any summoner that showed up with Grim Reapers and a Mage weapon. I just don't have time to have these discussions in game when I'm trying to get stuff done.
I think I might just have to start kicking or not inviting summoners with bows. And reapers.
Oh, and zaken cloaks.
lolz.
The difference between you and I is that my choices are based on math and what I've tested in game, and not on some pitiful attempt to troll others on a forum for laughs.
