my rant on drop rates and ncoin

There is no incentive to even do dailys or play this game anymore. Ncsoft reduces drop rates due to the Lindvior update now a lot of people have stopped playing because there is no point in investing valuable time in a game with little to no rewards.

Im not sure if im the only one that feels this way?

The economy right now sucks only the bots are getting richer while the legits are loosing all their adena in expensive items that used to cost a fraction of the price.

Bottom line: legits cannot compete with bots that are farming adena and materials 24/7.

In b4… ncoins keep server running (we know)

In b4… farm outside of instances for X amount of hours at X drop rate

In b4… you don’t have to play this game (too bad we are addicted now bring drop rates to before Lindvior)
I like that they removed the unidentified drops and put it back as it was before.
before crafting was possible people where sellin main pieces of weap/armor.. EDIT i meant pre GoD

now? people sell nothing just full parts for insane price, there barely main pieces being sold.

i personally dont care im 99/99 gear on both main and sub.
but i do feel sorry for people who are not and didnt play during the unidentified drop stuff they barely get a weapon to drop / armor and buyin them with lil amount of adena u get from mobs is insane..

normally u would get for example a bow drop at spezion u sell it and buy weapon u needed now u get 0!
Actually the biggest problem is lack of materials recipes hence price of upgrading armor/weapon fragments and some materials is borderline insane which makes crafting more expensive than obtaining a full item. If you have a friend dwarf to upgrade those for you the price goes drastically down and crafting is worth it (if you don't fail 60% recipes in rapid succession like me but ofc it's my luck...)
I exp on Soul Island, doing dailies mostly and collecting drops for TW Heavy/Robe set.

The main ingredients drop quite well i guess...got few recipes too

I selling them for 500k per piece/ recipes for 1M per piece

I will start selling the Metallic Filber i got there too ... probably :)

PS- OP, chart is 100% right, that's exactly what is going on.
I don’t know, I like that unidentified items don’t drop any more but that change I think screwed everything up in a bad way everyone has standard sets which doesn’t mean anything anymore unbind scrolls are useless aren’t worth

they can’t increase the drop rate of standard weapons that would screw things up I think too

imo Lindvior just sucks :D

Nailed it!

I have collected as many recipes as I can atm on my crafter, but at some point it just gets insane. I will not pay 3 bil for a recipe, where there is literally no way to make back that money in any near future. I undestand someone think they got superlucky with a "almost one in a million" drop, but if a dwarf cant make the money back from the purchase price, they wont buy it.

Also, another problem is that some recipes drop from only one raid boss and some mobs that dont even spawn on some servers (Elite Native Soldier) due to their Hellbound being fully leveled ages ago.

This could easily be fixed, by just having more mobs drop the recipes, and maybe slightly increasing the drop rates.

It is NOT fixed by inreasing crafting success rate a bit and selling Eternal recs. No mats = no crafts.

AHA! I had completely forgotten about that.

They do, but you need 10 Scorpion Stingers every time you wish to enter the place where they're enclosed.
And the Scorpion Stingers drop at awfully low chances...
I need a good weapon for pvp and raids like +7-+10. how can I get it now, but buying from old players with expensive price.:mad:
the OP and most others are absolutely right, things have gone south quicker than most ppl expected.Noone is crafting, on Shilen you can hardly find dorf (even friend) that has lvl4 upgrade recs, also only dorfs that craft shots in general, only from time to time 1 or 2 that got the armors/wpns regd.
I`m sure that ain't cos they don't like to put craft shops, but that is noone rly cares to craft due to lack of mats in general.

There is another bummer in crafting too, recently I was crafting some Sirra's Blades and it turned out that a stupid A grade sword needs lvl3 mats, the hell NC, the hell ....
I have played this game on and off since c2.

I played when it took a couple of months to reach 40, when we couldn't auto shots because of the expense, when we walked our class change quests because porting through them cost you all of your saved up adena. I was in C grade until 56, B grade until 74, A grade thereafter. I never did manage to farm my S grades back then.

The game was tough back then. However we had working manor, mats dropped like confetti, recipes were easily dropped or bought from NPC, crafting was alive and well. Giran was full of shops of which 75% would be selling one basic mat or another.

Now we have similar but without the working manor and the bots shops in giran full of mats. The recipes for mats upgrading are ridiculously hard to get. Materials drop rate for most is very poor. Spoil rates are terrible. Also spoilers need be 95+ or 97+ to spoil most useful mats. Raid bosses now are virtually a waste of time with almost nothing dropping. Quests don't pay anything useful. Castles are no longer a source of massive income.

I have played this game always legitimately. I have never botted and I have never bought adena. I am now however seriously considering moving to the dark side or perhaps even leaving the game completely. Already a few of my superlegit friends have 'started to lose characters' which tells me that they have probably considered the same and already acted on it.

There is much I like about the lindvior patch but the changes to the in-game economy and most money-making events relying on buying ncoin have for me completely ruined the game.

Ooops, must have missed this.

Some sort of instance?

No, it's a place at the Hidden Oasis that's behind a door at the "villa" where you get the native clothes (can't remember the exact name of the place, sorry).
There's a NPC who allows you to enter when you hand over to him the Scorpion Stingers. A clan mate of mine farmed for hours after getting the items, but no rec dropped... And there's a raid boss behind that door, so you also must kill him
It's not the area before going into citadel is it?
You're right Yidao, it's the Marks of Betrayal and not the Scorpion Stingers that give access to Leodas - I confused the 2 items, since they drop in the same spot and both are needed for stuff in Hellbound...
Thanks a lot for the clarification! It's corrected :)

Really?

The lack of material recipies and not basic crafting materials and equipment recipies are not bigger problems?

Cause even if they upped the drop rate of material recipies by 10,000% you'd still have the problem that the actual materials that you need don't drop with a high enough frequency to do any real crafting.

The entire change was ill conceived and poorly executed. So what if people weren't able to sell most of their equipment because it was bound to their character? So what if everyone was actually able to afford to equip their character with the next tier of gear as soon as they were a high enough level to wear it. Those things were actually helping to make the game more and not less fun.

But the Koreans have been complaining ever since B grade dropped frequently in ToI that the drops they got weren't selling for big bucks. However those Koreans were exceptionally shortsighted and stupid for failing to realize that in order for the drops to sell for higher prices NC would either have to drastically curtail the drop rate or severely increase the amount of adena that mobs dropped. Of course in typical NC fashion they decided to both reduce the drop rate and reduce the amount of adena that dropped without also reducing the prices for NPC services (such as the price to put a SA on a weapon or convert 5 elemental stones into a crystal) in order to compensate for the reduced adena income.
