I am wondering if anyone that started playing right after launch before C1 is still here? I mostly played on Kain. Anyway just curious
Playing since Prelude, though i took a huge break around 2007 till GOD. Regret till the day that i came back.
I started right after launch, I even was part of the first test seige of Gludio lol I remember when you would lag out trying to walk around that town...I remember when C1 came out and everyone had to go buy jewels so casters would not one shot them...good times

True, NG juwels:D I also remember we did the first Baium, and back then it was in the FG (current SoS) behind those huge doors. Ah good old times.
i've been around since beta bouncing in and out.
trolling forums, and casually playing.
i'm not even close to top level, and i doubt i ever will be.
casual gamer with hardcore hours... if only there was some kind of medication which could rectalfy that into one or the other...
casual player, or hardcore player... i think i'd be happy with either.
started on Erica server, restarted on hindemith, became phoenix, almost transferred to sayha... became chronos. this is where i reside.
Orc Tyranator...
Yep still around....started playing late '04 on Hindemith....quit somewhere in '08-'09....returned in late '11....been very active for a while, and now once again falling deep into boredom with the game due to real life stuff I'm involved with, going on. My L2 playtime the last month or so has consisted of logging in one of my reds and annoying peeps for a while, then farming Zaken with a bunch of my awakened alts. Too little interested for any 97+ junk at the moment. Maybe the next update, and the colder months approaching will make me feel like playing more. :p

Played since open beta when there were more red and pink/purple names than white.
shots were always only emergency for me back then.
when you got trained by an extra mob or two, shots really made the difference. nowadays you get free shots...
and more free shots, and more...
until you get addicted to the free shots.
indeed. i remember as my first character was a mystic trying to budget my shot useage into my hunting; my first ever drop was after i had started a fighter, and had stood up from sitting to regen HP. killed an orc on TI and got a broadsword.
I do not miss having to click the shots for each time and loved it when the patch came that made them auto...that being said, shots were a thing that were used only when the need had arisen not to be used all the time...that's why I made my dorfies, one the collect mats and one to craft ss/bsps to sell and to use...
Anyone remember hunting the cemetery? And I actually remember dinging 40 in Cruma Tower...I also remember leveling outside the school of dark arts by DE village and it took months to get to 20...ugh the grind was nutz
Bats - 17 adena drop!
best skill is passive regen HP lol
quest in dorf village for silver axe, with npc hidden behind house... and some quest with random spawned npc on coast - was epic...
the way they hide npcs was always kinda funny.
everybody is so spoiled with their... floating arrows, and pointy maps.
why nc hasn't introduced Keltir pets yet? i'll never know.
or Elpies... they were so iconic for the game, now they are hiding on kamael island.
I've been here since beta myself. I started on Sieghardt in the old Ring Alliance. I don't play the game as much anymore because of certain inequities of gameplay and lax server management, but I still float around the forums and interject every now and then.
Started playing at prelude on Hindemith. Back when everything was new, exciting, and majestic. When learning the lore of the game was fun. The majestic boat ride to gludin harbor from TI. Running everywhere because porting was too **** expensive. Those were the days.
I have been here since closed beta when there was only Bartz. once the other servers opened up i moved to Erica, for a better ping... i do know when i played they had capes for a bit. but they took them away.
Stumbled upon this game back in 2004 (just pre C1). Have been playing casual ever since. Have seen and met (at least virtually) so many fun and interesting peeps (like Splatter, Big Hands, Aconyte, our resident board devil ;) )... some whom I am proud to now call friend. Never took things too seriously and just try to have some fun. The game has certainly evolved over the years. Some of it good (and to be honest, a lot of poor decisions made as well). I sometimes wish that all of my old friends and comrades from the past would come back (Honor Guardians, the B grade dorf army vs Synergy, etc... now that was fun), but that is the way of life, is it not. People come in and out of your life... I guess that is about the closest thing to real life this game has, eh.
Any way, always happy to see some of the old guard is still with us.
I was playing on Devianne in a german Clan, called "CashMoneyBros", I was leading with my dwarf :-)
In 2009 I made a break, but I never got really lost of the game.
started in open beta on Kain as an Elf, later made a dwarf and stuck with it since then cause i liked crafting.
i recall making 40 in cruma and after that spending 2 weeks making and selling SS to get enough adena to upgrade to a C grade set, composite armor and tarbar axe i think it was.
although, as i enjoy PvP i have almost always cursed the dwarfs weak DPS and i feel so happy atm that im no longer that weak.
Started April 2004 and played until December 2010. I keep thinking maybe someday I'll come back but I think there's only one person left from my old Evermore clan that's still playing. The last couple years I played was only for the friendships I had in-game. Once all my friends started leaving, I lost interest in the game.
Game changing all the time. Also CM's, GM's, producers and even players. But some players still here since beginning. So, will be nice to get some "cookie" to 10 anniversary :) Like exclusive mount or gold name ) Atm only bot's with gold name ;)

Make new friends!
I am the last survivor of a team of friends who quitted Everquest online to play this back at the beginning and every year i make new friends :D
Was here when it all started and i will be when lights go out. Anyways im playing like once a week here nowadays.
I quit playing the game a long time ago but i like to keep up-to-date with it because it was my very first MMORPG i had ever played. Got the game before the C1 update.
I think they got rid of this now but to save money on boat rides back in the day to Talking island village. One of my good friends and I used to buy SoE's and then run on the bottom of the ocean until we fell into this rectangular "hole" on the bottom and you could actually breathe there, the run took about 3-5 minutes. But then when you were close enough you could use the SoE to teleport into talking island and save about 1400 adena!
I played fairly active from 2004 (prelude) till about 2010. I have been on and off playing since then. I played on bartz under the name Galil mainly. Also have a dwarf that was named Pootang then renamed to VeryGril... **** GMs lol. I also had an OL named Dominator, a BD named JackTripper and a Spellsinger named Jubilees.
I am wondering if anyone that started playing right after launch before C1 is still here? I mostly played on Kain. Anyway just curiousI played in beta and when they wiped those characters I moved to Kain. I'm trying to get back into the game but NCsoft has made it really hard for me to get access back to my accounts.
Started in beta back then. Needed one week to get my dwarf to lvl 20 ^^. No grade shots didnt exist back then.
Then i started a nuker and needed 1 day. Im not quite sure, why people talk of a balanced game, suppose nortalgia. It was a great game, but most surely not balanced. And i dont mind that.....l always loved to play dwarves. Loved the starting area (mountains, snow, ice and great music).
Needed about 100 years to get my Artisan to level 40. And another week to do the 2nd class change quest in Cruma Tower (you remember the daily server downs at 12 o clock, when dozens of dwarfs were waiting in Cruma level 2 to reach the chest before mobs spawn? ;D)
I play in retail when uptade to C3 :)
(for 2 weeks) :D, also retail players is so bad, 90% are worse than private "players" (good player, not ******s "MANAURAMINUPAMINDAADENAVCEHEDITADO!1!!!!11!//")
Here the basic of "PRO" is... full gear+100% auto and... well ok, also experience of ur class/tactics and bla bla bla, but still a automatic players with good gear

omg the npc/mob spawb after update. I remember going to deeper rooms in kruma with my group to set up camp before anyone else could.
Yup, joined in the second day of open beta. Settled on Kain and played up until c2. I was an Elven Elder (Misaki). I was masochistic I think, it was hell to play. No-one wanted to group because I couldn't give focus buff, solo was really hard and required buying alacrity pots or buying buffs from a prophet :( Thankfully I had good friends and a good clan who didn't mind a gimpy EE <3
kkkkkkk
Yeah, I play since c2. I'm trying to stop it. And retormar health, family, girlfriend ... kkkkkkkk
Spoiled the fault of NCSoft servers: No more pvp, but adena farmer ... This game is a source of income for the bums;)! went
Forgot to say also another fact that discouraged me NCwest this game is the lack of transparency in all aspects, is that this event donator are unable to communicate at least three months in advance with the appropriate items ... and the relationship with players, who are not treated with respect and like it or not many here are customers of Nc Soft, eg if I donated a lot here, really ... other factors that led me to think I'm on the wrong track in the game...
I'm 34, it's better to take care of my health, workout strong and enjoy life ... I wish good luck to everyone, but they are happy to tell you that age comes to all ... enjoy life know administer. ..
I'll log the GuToO with all the items that I have donatados here once every month to see how the guys clan (KSK, now DreamZ).
If the server change its structure is book a time to play again, so I'm hoping, like we all were legit bots over ... please ...
ps: sorry for the mistakes I'm on google translator english, I'm Brazilian.
Been here since Beta. Had a toon on a friends account (was CB at the time), and played it off and on until I got my own account in prelude. Been playing on Erica and the servers that it merged with fairly consistently since then.
I was given a copy of Prelude at Gen Con in the summer of 2004. At that time the game wasn't even live, but they had computers running the beta on the show floor, and they told us we could log into live in the fall, October I think it was. I made the first Pixiduzt back then. Played a bunch, but then got sucked into WoW for a long time. Would come back from time to time. Been back now for a while. Actually really enjoying it. Something about this game feels more "solid" than other mmo's. Dunno how else to say it. And despite all the years, still looks great too.
I remember where you would board the boat, and didn't dare move the character in fear it would glitch them and you would fall off the boat and drown.
Yeah, it used to bug out a lot.
Most just used to run in that one little spot from TI to the mainland where you could breathe underwater.
I also remember running in the rivers everywhere early on because gatekeepers were too much money, you had no breath gauge in rivers, and no monsters spawned there.
