As you may be aware, the Windows 8.1 update was released yesterday. Through some internal compatibility testing with the update our development team has found that the Windows 8.1 update may cause game client crashes.
Fortunately we caught the issue beforehand and are working on a solution. We ask that you DO NOT update to Windows 8.1 until we've release a patch to address the issue.
We'll update this thread once more information is available. If you've already updated to Windows 8.1 and are experiencing the game client crashes, please hang tight.
I am under Windows 8.1 since a little while, the only crash with L2 is occurring when I actually close the game client. Not a big deal on my personal case.
So another bug i have found that on laptops whit 2 garphic cards (switchable graphics) the game is working only whit the low performance card whit shared memory not whit High performance card whit dedicated memory.
Beter to say tha game not starts and i'm geting following error

P.S. the rest of the games on my laptop are just working fine on high performance video card
Got the same set up with two video cards, no problem for me there. Try to force Lineage II using the High Perf Graphic Card through your control panel, it may help
well game even dont start after update on 8.1 :/ stuck on splash screen. we now how many time need for this fix?
There are low chances that a fix is released before the Wednesday, the "official" update day. You can still try to delete the Gameguard folder and launch the game again as admin. Most of time when you are stuck on splash screen it's Gameguard causing troubles
If my memory is right, League of Legend client for mac is still in beta since January 2013, and they were working on it for one year before that. I am not sure that "some time" is what you mean.
Moreover, Gameguard is specifically made for Windows. I doubt it's possible to make such a program works on apple's systems :D

It's been officially announce a while ago, that Mac users can run LoL. I personally have it, and graphics is way better (especially if you have a 17 inch. Retina display)
Vali you should allow people with Mac's to run Lineage2. I know it might take some time to develop it, but would be worth i think.
There is no reason to. That segment of the gaming market is so small, primarily because you have to invest so much into a Mac to even play games. You can get the same performance out of a $600~750 computer as you would a $3500+ Mac

It is set to high performance but works only whit low performance :(
Videocards: Intel HD4000 and ATI 7670M on Dell laptop

Sure you can spend 11K on a Mac, but that wasn't my point. Also, unless your in Graphics/Audio/Video profession... Spending 11K on a Mac (Hell any computer) is just dumb.
I use to spend a lot on computers, then I realized that spending anything over $2000 on a computer was pointless unless you have a specialized need for it, or were selling it for a profit or just have money to burn. I build myself a new computer every 18-24 months or so for around $700, and give the old one to a family member or sell it for about half what I built it for.

I have had that issue on windows XP since May 29th. Given up reporting it via tickets as support couldn't give a rat's backside about it. You will probably find that this stuck at splash screen issue is being caused by the game being unable to initialise Gameguard for one reason or another. On XP constant kill stuck client from task manager and retry with new client eventually gets 3 working but sometimes can take hours.

-give every right to the lineage 2 folder
-run as administrator
-run win8, win7 comp mode.
-delete the GameGuard folder
-etc.
Welcome back AshleyHunter, after 2 year break you have two posts. I am pleased you have returned.
Thank you DrachaVonDrachen, it's good to see old friends still around (((hugs))) . I'm not back in game but I do poke my head in to look around. I'm still 78 and I have no plans at all 2 XP. Just look around and maybe answer a question or say hi. I miss the old L2. Not interested in playing the New L2. Maybe Lineage III if it ever comes out. ;)
