Awakening Armor Sets

Hello all.

I write this to put into discussion the R-grade armor sets.IMO they lack in design, variety and this results in most awakened chars looking like clones (R clones, R95 clones, etc).Of course some people choose to alter their set appearance but I don't think this is the optimal solution for most of us.

More specifically...there are only two options in 85~95 one enforced (event Immortal) and the other buyable (Twilight) while 95+ and 99 have only one option to choose from.Concerning appearance I think Immortal sets in most chars is plain ugly, while Twilight is far better designed and looks nice.Seraph heavy and leather is of mediocre design while Seraph robe looks brilliant. For Eternal, heavy looks so bad for being the top set in the game, while others are "so and so" based on the class wearing them.

I don't know what's going on with the team designing those items, but there are armor sets in the game that are very beautiful and attractive to the eye. Also all pre-awakened grades give you multiple armor sets option to choose from.

What do you think?
I totally agree with you, i am that kind of player that gets bored in a while using a ugly looking char.
I think The korean developers knew about this issue, that's why they created appearance stones.
The problem happens here in US servers cause you actually have to pay for them(the stones), while korean devs wanted them to be obtainable via the game(not sure but logic).
Twilight was supposed to be R90. With the deletion of that level requirement, the R85 sets became two, but if it remained, the problem of having only one armor set to wear each 5 levels would have been the same.
@D Grade: you have 2 sets of each type (Heavy, Light, Robe)
@C Grade: you have 3 Heavy, 4 Light and 3 Robe
@B Grade: you have 4 sets of each type (Heavy, Light, Robe)
@A Grade: you have 5 sets of each type (Heavy, Light, Robe)
@S Grade: you have 2 sets of each type (Heavy, Light, Robe)
@S80 Grade: you have 4 sets of each type (Heavy, Light, Robe)

From A and above you can find some great designs that also spice up the variety in players' appearance.

I am wondering if the devs have any plans of putting some more effort in that aspect of the game.

ofc not, they want you to buy appearance stones from $$-shop, thats why the r99 set is so ugly
It's even worst for tanks because, for an unknown reason, starting from S80 grade sets the shields designs are really different from the corresponding sets (ex: Seraph / Twilight shields do not really match the corresponding armors from a design point of view).

Sure, there should be more R95-R99 sets.

In the past there was more reasons for more sets. After awakening it kinda lose point, because if healers play in heavy or light, why there should be more robe sets for example, when one set is enough (don't forget you can change type of armor = it was more easy for developers than make new armors).
All the way up to S80 and Vorpal Heavy have matching shield designs. With and above R-grade the shields is not matching in design at all.

It would be nice with more sets to choose from and with a verity of stats. It would also be nice, like in Aion, to be able to alter colors of the armors with maybe like, Unique, Rare and Common color dyes obtained as drops or quest rewards.
Vorpal/Moirai shield were not so good matching as well, to my taste :P
yah shields sucks from 80+, i like the Nightmare, Dynasty and Zubei shields, and about armors... my choices, Moirai, Imperial Crusader, Draconic or Dynasty rlz, i like Seraph heavy too, but Eternal... god, was it designed by a ******ed and drunk person? come on it's the ultimate armor, it should look awesome, i guess the solution should be to able to customize your armor color detail, something like this

Immortal is brown to make you puke, eternal is red to make your eyes bleed.
That's something I was thinking too

As an old L2 player, I remember when A was the top grade, so between A and B you have not just variety in appearance but also in stats to custom your char, like offensive tanks on Majestic or BW and defensive tanks on Nightmare (my favorite) or Doom

Comes down with first S sets (Draconic is awesome by the way), and goes up with Elegia/Vorpal/Vesper/Moirai/Dynasty sets

But now you have just 2 sets for the last lvls, Seraph and Eternal (with Bloody/Dark versions), this is no just a lack of variety in appearance, but also in stats. They should at least change the look for Attack/Defense type like it was with Dynasty armors

Winner.

They could have conceivably made several different armor appearances for each R grade set type (robe, light, heavy) and class (attack/defense, wizard/enchanter) for all of the races, but they'd rather have you shopping in the L2 store for products that help with customization of your characters.

The above only bothers me when they don't have anything cool in the L2 store or galleria. I'm all for customization. I wish they'd go as far as allow us to change the colors of the armors. For example, I like the Ninja look, but the color scheme is anything but ninja! Sell me a painter's palette and let me spruce it up my way.
OMG... I just awakened (I know, it took me long enough) and got my Immortal robe set for my Feoh Archmage and I HATE it!
Long long long time ago I remember when I got light immortal set at lvl 85 (human rogue class and got it even before lvl 86 in that "free event ones"), my fellings was like:

"OM... this is like vorpal 2.0, looks like I didn't changed set at all... SUXXXXX, how much is that next green set? OMG"

And yes I agree with u. Before u could get a set even lower because the bonus. Ex: many people in dc robe set because cast, instead of major arcana (til the element thing arrive and make a mess)

One thing that nobody complainned yet:

Dual daggers and swords... it should be like this:

*Low R: Requiem + S80
*High R: Requiem x requiem (not apocalypse 2x)
*R95: apocalypse x apocalypse (not specter 2x)
*R99: Specter x Specter (not amaranthine 2x)

There is no sence u need 2 requiem weapons (example) for transform it in 2 apocalypse ones. Talking about the weapons... What a Ugly design...

In the past some of the gear was not the same grade it is today. Back in the day S grade had one set of gear and S80 had one set. For Nukers it was Arcana and then Dynasty. You had one set in each grade, and those grades lasted a long time. S80 didn't see more gear until Vesper and it wasn't until after Morai/Vorpal/etc. was put in that they moved Dynasty down to S grade from S80.

A grade had multiple sets but a nuker would never wear Tallum or Majestic and a Healer would never touch NM Robes, for example. But yes, inter-archetype there was a bit more variety back then. B and C grade were similar to A grade.

I think the prices are more of an issue than the armor. Since stuff is so expensive the amount of time people have to wear it is increased. I didn't upgrade to TW until level 90 personally, but the seraph prices are kind of ridiculous at the moment :-P Lindvior update did not do the in-game economy any favors.
Guess I'm the oddball here, I actually like the R grade armor designs.
I would pay to be able to change the color of any and all sets... HINT, HINT!
hy , i saw u guys speaking about awekening armor set . i,m new player , just reach 85 , and my problem is that i didnt take full set of immortal robe event set , because i allready had a cyrclet and gunters undefined , and now i need only a immortal cyrclet (event) to have the hole set event . how do i do ?
Vorpal s80 is still best visual graphic armor set to this day
