Just wanted to say a great big Thank YOU for the efforts on killing off the bot plague. The game runs 100% smoother for me now with less hang ups and lag. Again THANK YOU!!
Now to something else,
I was curious about how the cheaters were taking all this and read some of their posts in the cheater's forums. They are not happy at all, which makes me grin from ear to ear. They are jumping through hoops to figure a way around being banned. They are making "test" accounts to see if they get the hammer. Please stay on top of these guys as what you are doing is making a profound difference if the game I love. These guys have had free run of L2 for far too long and it delights me to see them scrambling to work around the GMs.
Keep up the good fight GMs!! Stay on top of these cheaters! Vali, if and when you read this pass the good will to the GMs for me. Hope this finds you all doing well!
It always goes in cycles, NC bans a bunch of bots, some botters emoquit, some just make new bots. The server is quiet for a while. Eventually the emoquitters come back to L2 (where else are they going to go?) and the servers get over filled again, and ban waves occur again.
I think NC only acts when they want to free up some room on the servers. It's not about the actual act of botting, it's just the crowding.
I would really like to see IP bans for the jerks who stuff areas with summoners. It's so trashy. And also for the people who name their bots BsvaIss, BsvaHeal, rat88, rat89, rat 90, etc. No class!
This only fans the flames really. We call them whiners and they call us whiners. It's not NC NA, it's NC Korea that needs implement better prevention.
That said with the lack of staff over the years the problem has gone unchecked. The game I hate to say is slowly dying. If there is ever another installment of Lineage I honestly hope the cheating will be better policed.

Maybe is possible to GM's locate who buy lol number of bssr/ssr , target adena from what bog group go to buyer char and where go other adena/drops from same that bot groups... only in that way bot owners may get punishment, otherwise new bots will grow every day e/w if old got bun...
Well as of today, October 26, 2013 the cheaters have started to take places over again. Varkas has several cheaters running around now from what I'm told by clannies. Please GMs don't slack off now. They are getting more confident as the days go by. The ones that you hammered have made new ones and leveling up quickly. I also noticed that the game is a lot more "choppy" today. That usually happens when the server get overloaded with script runners. Hammer these guys! Don't let up now!
Well as of today, October 26, 2013 the cheaters have started to take places over again. Varkas has several cheaters running around now from what I'm told by clannies. Please GMs don't slack off now. They are getting more confident as the days go by. The ones that you hammered have made new ones and leveling up quickly. I also noticed that the game is a lot more "choppy" today. That usually happens when the server get overloaded with script runners. Hammer these guys! Don't let up now!
I've told people like you this a million times. There is no permanent solution to keeping bots off the servers. The bots have always been there since day one. There is no staff working the weekends. Could they log in during the weekend..sure,but people don't like taking work home with them.
I'll tell how this will play out as it always does. First people spam the forums with new topics complaining about the bots and script users. This will go on for about a month or so and then there will be a ban wave. People will think posting names of toons,areas and all sorts of would be facts asking and begging Forum Admins to go in game and ban them. Soon the areas that were hammered will fill up with new bots within a week.
Rinse and repeat people. I'm not going into anymore of this as it just spawns the same old arguments about IP addresses and stupid suggestions about server wipes. What we need is a PK system that doesn't protect bots.

Usualy on weekends on naia launched x10 bot event..
gm they only bans in forums after posting botters name (like you need 200% proof or whatever - dwarfs with d grade in varkas - sure they are legit players)..
like heros who can target you throuhg the wall - sure its legit feature..and to prove othervise you need a team of 100 rocket scientists..
just ncwest have no guts to admit that they not invest in proper bot/cheater solution. this game dying already - lets earn more money before closing it...

The GMs are doing more now than what used to be done about the bots but, this is probably because the new update is right around the corner. Unless if it's going to be different this time around, we'll be going back to the same ol' grind of dealing with bots again.

She wasn't hijacking your thread. And you said it yourself; everyone has a right to post wherever they want.
The point of her post is that you started complaining about bots coming back in the most popular spots. Did you really expect any lasting result from the banhammer?
With the free-to-play system creating tons of expendable accounts is the normal practice for professional botters. They don't lose anything in the process -- neither time nor money. Creating new emails and accounts is fully automated, and the bots don't even need to use the client to log in en masse.
Besides, on weekends I very well doubt GMs are on full workday.
Various solutions have been advanced to cut the problem down to some extent, and the one that makes the most sense is to put a small fee at account creation, but it will never be implemented because the game is advertised as truly free (which in truth isn't...).

Right it started off as a thank you,but then turned into you complaining about the bots later on. I think you were getting a little too excited that a clean out was done. Now you know what I said is true. Bans are short lived. I'm not hijacking anything. I'm completely on topic of bans, third party program usage and botters.
I am not being negative, you are just taking it personal that I didn't jump and down with joy with you because I don't delude myself into thinking that bots will be gone for good. You're bitter because I didn't hop on your little wagon and told you how it is around here. If you've been playing this long you should know how it is;unless you've been living under a rock nine and half years.
Sure you complained, You begged the GM to keep on hammering. You also felt the need to state that the bots are making new toons...well no surprise there right? Addressing me specifically by name in your response is calling me out.
I stand by what I say, ban waves are short term, cheaters just make new accounts and are right back at it in your favorite spots. There is no victory to celebrate until there is a pk system change or by some epic miracle third party programs are blocked. I agree with what Tif said about that there has been significant reduction and measures taken to stop this behavior and it could be far worse.

ETA: Further more if you want to personally thank the forum admins you can just fire them a private message. Vali responds all the time. You can also tweet to ncsoft, they respond to my tweets all the time. Then no one can comment or disagree on your precious threads.

On the topic of blocking someone: Peri has been on my ignore list for more than a year. Yet I still see the crap posts whenever I browse this forum. Why? Cause it will not keep me logged in like pretty much every other forum I use. I would need to press "Login" every single time I visit this site just to get my blocks, and then I would need to fire up my email client every single time, cause whenever I log in I will have to authorize my new dynamic IP.
So I only log in when I want to post, and I believe I am not the only one.
