I am a new player, just reached level 65. But so far I see almost no player activity, occasionally I see a player outside of town, 75% of the time with a name like "abjfajid" that I presume are just bots.
Anytime I ask for help or a questoin in a town, although there are 150 players selling or standing around, no one replies, and no one even seems to be moving.
My point is, is it even worth it to finish going to max cap? I mean.. will I ever see player activity? Does anyone actually play this game anymore? Or is just dead effing dead? The game seems cool and all, but I'm not looking to play a game that is 90% dead and the moving characters that I do see are just bots farming away and trying to sell me loot.
Another question, I'm sure a ton of you have asked yourself. WHY DO THEY NOT BAN THE BOTS? I mean it can take 1 guy on each server to roam the botting hot spots, itll take him all of 2 minutes to determine if they player is a botting (or just a look at their name) and insta-ban them.
"Worth it?" The game itself YES! Totally!, but unfortunely it is managed by NCWest, a company who has no idea on how to run a balanced mmorpg, they only care about money, (reminds me of Electronic Arts now days) there isn't even GM's online so.... my "suggestion" is: The game does it, if u got the oportunity move to a better server (private) or just wait for Skyrim Online.
you tried the party matching system? - there is player activity :), mostly at 85+ .. but in some cases there are groups below that level too - or yust try to start your own group and/or join a clan, get a mentor and ask him if you have questions.

from my experience over the years, unlike other companies (Innova for example) NC never realy tried to ban bots .. yes there where ban-waves .. but no general policy to hit them on a daily basis. Back in the days many player used to fight those bots .. but we lost long ago. NC seems to prefer bots as customers.
If u like the game mechanics, yes its worth, but dont expect activity of players at lvl 75 since almost half server is 97+. Till lvl 90 atm i would say its solo-farm game with npc buffs (try to get soa/teredor/kartia85 group if its possible) but dont expect that all inside that party will be legit and "alive" ;)
Btw. yday saw 2-3 times ppl were looking for members for even kamaloka/laba which doesnt give such great exp/reward, but if ppl still do it i dont think that game is already dead at all.
What server and what time are you on? Yes there's a lot of bots, but I never have a problem seeing/talking with real ppl. I play 97+, but also I am constantly lvl'ing 1-85 toons for mentee marks and crp, then turn them in to Zaken farmers. In town isn't always the best place to meet ppl as crazy as that sounds. Open up party matching.
