Here’s how it works: when you purchase an item from the L2 Store or L2 Galleria worth 80 NCoin or more, you will receive 1 Hero Coin for every 80 NCoin you spend. Items over 800 NCoin will also provide a 10% bonus of Hero Coin. You’ll see how much Hero Coin you’re getting before you complete your purchase. And the Hero Coins are delivered right away with your item!
You can start earning Hero Coins with all purchases starting today. But that’s not all. We wanted to make sure that players who have made previous purchases were able to take advantage of the Hero Coin program as well. If you’ve made a qualifying purchase in the L2 Store or L2 Galleria since November 30, 2011, you have Hero Coins to spend. You can check your balance by viewing your quest inventory.

Two things: as natalie portman mentioned the exchange ratio of ncoin to high end items is greatly out of skew. The RMT market sells many of those items for much much less than what you are proposing to 'reward' players with. The hero coin system wont combat RMT on those items at all, if anything it will make the RMT items more attractive. For example a rulers authority is listed on certain rmt sites for approx 1500-2000 USD, which is nowhere near the TENS OF THOUSANDS you have listed the item as (via ncoin exchange).
Secondly, hero coins should be a tradable item that players can exchange between each other.
They didn't even put all the hero coins onto one character(your main). They were given to the character you made the purchase on and spread out through the account.
Let me ask, you guys do not think it is very expensive? I had 4000Ncoin at moment and i seed cant buy nothing good...

doesn't say how many EoD you get.
I'm pretty sure you would not give only one for 30 hero coins since you can buy it on NCoin too which sells at the rate of 80NCoin for 2 EoD.

Go to hell. Calling someone ungrateful because they raise a stink when something smells bad. Nerfing the item / adena drop rates and then pumping in more drop rate runes etc was bad enough, but this is just a terrible system.

If you are not buying enough NCoin to get the rewards from the Hero Coin system you shouldn't care. If it looks too expensive for you to attain the really cool items then you shouldn't be looking through the window. It doesn't matter what the rewards cost, the rewards are not designed for the poor. Nothing has changed you all can still play for free.

You dont have to spend thousands of dolar on store to buy items with coins, u just need other to do so, and just buy items from them with adena to collect hero coins

dear juji talismas 7 signs rulers authority and anything beyond 3k $ will never be taken. There is no logic in that. Player who play game even he buy ncoins he will never ever inhis life give a ferrari for 7 signs talisman. You have to consider amounts of Hero coins for high end gear.
U can orient to less $ than black market for example ruler belt 1.5k $ in black market and honestly pplz just will get those items from clans. Make Equal prices and job is done. Not less not more. make same. And ppl will chose easier way and safer way.

IF a player spends 400 USD per month he will end the year with +-43.200 Hero coins. the most expensive item = 250k hero coins. And the coins reset every calendar year.

If so, at lest put EVERY SINGLE possible item at the store and that way everybody can decide if he wants to farm it or just pay for it. You need R99 weapon, but don't want to farm 2 months for it - pay 50 bucks and get it. I'm not against the pay2win policy but just putting the most powerful items in shop with some ludacrissly high prices will kill the game. I mean yes, the bots also will disappear cos there will be nothing to farm for, but the players will be gone too. It's another way of fighting the RMT if you don't want to ban ppl, but it's pointless.
The ppl aren't rampaging 'cos you might get 10-20 coins with your destiny pack once a month, but because after literally 2 days there will be shifted 50k+ hero coins in hero/global chat from the top master card teams.

1. No one has told you, that you have to spend that kind of money, and probably very few ppl will.
2. This is free stuff. Its a bonus. Even if you can't get it all - you still get something for free for buying items what you paid for. STOP BIT.CHI.NG.
3. The price for High-End FREE stuff is there for a reason don't you think? Or do you want 70% of the server to run with those belts and have TOP stuff? If so - crappy private servers are for you.

Now everyone uses pay bots like ******* pay not to lag (witch increased a lot specially in towns when i have best net connection and i never had this problem before god) like WTFast. Your words not mine, but since you appear to be their spokesman... if they can't afford to play a free to play game they shouldn't be playing the game. For example:
No matter which I choose I can play for free... but I dare not cry about those the pay for chess lessons or a coach or a timer or go to chess tournaments for prize money... and gain frequent flier miles for all their travels to said tournaments.
Anyway those who do not have will always complain about how unfair life is when they see what others have.

It's an obvious cash grab with games like Blade and Soul making its way to our market and they are surely just squeezing every last dollar from this game before it dies a slow horrible death, they are already down to almost 0 bot control and just a few bans to save face every so often but get out of denial and realize it's over this game isn't and will never be what u want it to be anymore. I am personally just waiting on ghost to open his private server as he is not perfect but will run a lot better server then ncwest has in many years.

If this is a reward system, why should the hero coins expire? The average person is not going to spend over $200,000 dollars a year in ncoin. The only way for a normal person to save enough Hero coins for the bigger nicer items is to save their ncoin for years and go on a L2 store spree after saving their ncoin.

It's a violin that you equip and it actually plays while you have it equipped. No buffs or stat increases included. Its just for looks and sounds.
This is more of an observation/bug but it seems as though transferring servers will somehow mess up your calculations. I have spent a significant amount of NCoin over the last year and a half but my coins do not reflect any where near what I have spent. Am I just SOL or should I submit a ticket?

Bot Kick Stone for 400 NCoin/HCoin you are able to kick your target (one use).
If your target relogs in the next 5 minutes you get penalty, either kicked for 5 mins or stat reduction for an hour or something to discourage abuse.
With all this heavenly rolls around on the server...

Here's the thing, normally spending NCoin would get exactly what you purchased: a rune, an Agathion, some crazy hat, whatever and that's it. You'd only get what you purchased.
But now you get a little something extra for making a purchase. It's like any other airline mileage or credit card points system; it might take a bit for you earn enough to buy something you want but it's better than getting nothing at all.
I think a reward system is an awesome idea and I'm glad you guys introduced one so well done on that. There's a couple of things I'm planning on picking up given the fact that every NC Coin spend I've ever made has given me coins which is awesome, thanks for doing that.
I also believe that high end, in game items shouldn't be easy to achieve through the reward system, that can hurt the game so I understand why some items would cost a larger amount of Hero Coins. I mentioned there's a couple of things I'm planning on picking up and likewise there's a couple of things I know I'll probably end up buying with them over the course of the year.
At the same time though Vali, and I think people in their rage have perhaps failed to put this across well enough is that those same high end items shouldn't be wildly out of reach for pretty much every single person. I've already heard tales of people who are known to be big time high rollers when it comes to NC Coin who even themselves have nothing remotely like the kind of Hero Coin required to purchase even something like a Talisman of Longing never mind Rulers Authority or a 7 Signs Talisman and that is taking into consideration these people have accumulated 2 years worth of NC Coin spending.
The fact you can build up your Hero Coins over time is great, but having them reset every January means that these items are out of reach for easily over 99% of the player base. Now please don't consider this as ungrateful whining, it really isn't. I'm comfortable with the fact that I won't be spending that type of money on NC Coin, I spend a decent bit and am ok with it.
I have to wonder though, and question the wisdom of the people who came up with this idea and the prices and policies realised this (and I assume they are clever enough to do so), why even bother putting in a reward item that in some instances requires a 6 figure investment in NC Coin within a year? You guys there are smart enough to be aware of the adena buying market and that players will sell in game items for real money, something that you guys are always trying to discourage and combat. I understand the whole premise of the reward system and mentioned that a few paragraphs up but knowing that people can spend less money to buy this stuff through nefarious means, what was the point of putting in rewards that require such an investment? I could understand if they continually rolled over for the life of the character/account but the fact that it resets every year makes a lot of the stuff unattainable for practically every player...and that's just very silly.
You would hope the Hero Coins are associated to an account as are the NCoin, would be asinine to have distributed them across the possible seven characters... right?
It's based on whichever character you actually spent the NC Coin on. My main toon had most of my coins as you would expect, but another toon on the same account has Hero Coins for the purchases it has made.
It would have been awesome if the Hero Coins were shared between your entire account the same way NC Coin is, apart from some of the items being simply unattainable for virtually everyone my only real annoyance is the coins not being available just across my account as opposed to being tied to each character but that's a minor thing really.
An alliance member says he has spent 175 dollars on coin cards since 30th november plus has the prestige pack. He somehow has 2067 hero coins. Only difference between him and others is he has the prestige pack sub running. Even if the prestige pack is paying out for the entire year worth of hero coins each month it would not add up to that many hero coins lol.

Aha! ok that explains it then (and my previous post about the glitched ally member can disappear lol) and somewhat generous of a backdate, if only the prices on a lot of the items were not so silly.

I really think your prices are rather off though. I mean do you really expect someone to spend in 1 year because it will reset on Jan 1, about $250,000 dollars to get the top item from the Hero coins that is 250,000 hero coins. I mean I could have bought like 30 some full prices Xbox games for what I have spent in Ncoin in the past 8 months and I think that is ridiculous of me to have done that as it is.
I think this system has merit but your amounts are way out of whack. I get frequent flyer miles myself and I get way more benefits from that for much smaller dollar amounts spent that $250k on virtual game money. I mean has anyone ever spent a quarter of a million dollars on ncoin in 1 year? How did you measure that?

Lol @ all the stories of how much people spend on this game. I always knew it was pay2win but the hundreds of dollars spent so casual on a game that is on it's death bed is quite hilarious please more stories I got my popcorn.

Like any sane person is gonna pay 5 Hero Coins (5 US$) for 1 Giant's Energy while player shops sell for 5m adena, Mammom sells for 7m adena and some good farm in Oly every week gives you 2 for just being 1 hour afk doing matches.
But I see where this is going, within weeks we'll see L2Store events giving double the Hero Coins.
If the 'low' Coin rewards would've made sense I might have jumped into it, having just under 500 Hero Coins on balance and anything worth buying for my class and level needing an additional investment up to 30,000 Hero Coins no thank you.

Yeah so.... I've been playing this game since beta and obviously since Ncoin was added to the game. I have a grand total of LoL683 Hero Coins saved up for the one item I want that costs 75,000 Hero Coins. Oh and I would love to purchase the top two items that cost 205,000 and 250,000 Hero Coins also but clearly that will never happen either.

Well obviously you're buying the coins because you want something in the store correct? It's not a donation, it's a PURCHASE. You are BUYING the Ncoins that you use to exchange for the store item you want. the Hero coins are just a "Frequent Shopper" reward program.

The top item in the hero coin selection is the dark amaranthine weapon pack, they have this priced at 375,000 hero coins....that equates to 340 thousand US dollars....and your total coins disappears on Jan 1st so you cant save year to year for it even.
I would be very interested to know how many characters ncsoft have that spend even half that amount on ncoins in a year.. To have 340k dollars disposable yearly income is something most families could only dream about.

If u had adena issue u went outside of town to make so quest or farm and u could get enough adena just to make sure u will be able to buy enough shots for next farm.

It looks like that NCsoft solved this problem with Hero coins and nccoins which u can use to buy stupid shots (not to mention items).

Hero coins are not "another currency", they are just bonus items. E.g., you come to a shop, spend $100 to buy some stuff, and receive a $1 gift coupon (that you can use or throw away, at will). What's there to complain about?

Lets make an example : U are new player here and u wont spend ur IRL money for game (because u have bigger problems) but u want to spend some time in playing l2 . U are logging in going to farm zone make 86 and then what? u dont have adena for shots and for TW set (not to mention seraph on 95). Now tell me how u can get access to game functions and to get some fun when simply all normal ways dont give u enough adena to do it ?

I purchased the "Lesser Giant's Lucky Enchant Stone: Weapon R" which states if the enchant fails the item will not be crystalized, the enchant will reset to 0.
But when I go to enchant, I get a message saying that if the enchant fails the item will be crystalized.
Looking for confirmation as to if it will or will not crystalize.

Actually, no. Some of us are simply pointing out that this new feature is exploiting an addiction that some L2 players have. These are the people spending thousands in RMT. NcSoft is obviously trying to attract these sort of spenders.
The rest of us are complaining because we'd never spend that much on a game. We'd just like a fair chance at obtaining these high priced items. I totally understand why they did this and I'm not blaming them for it. It's all in the name of capitalism.

Actually, no. Some of us are simply pointing out that this new feature is exploiting an addiction that some L2 players have. These are the people spending thousands in RMT. NcSoft is obviously trying to attract these sort of spenders.

I have a little more than 10k Hero coins and the best thing I can get after spending more than 10,000 dollars on this game in the past year is 1 Dark Eternal Enhancement stone? lol I understand the prices need to be high. I am not doubting that. But to make an item cost in essence 200,000 dollars is just ridiculous. There is no person in their right mind that would spend that amount of money on a game in a span of 1 year. Or as others have stated you are a millionaire but even then you are a millionaire for a reason. I'm sure you don't spend that kind of money on things of this nature.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with the system. But many of the prices are WAY off base, even for some of the cheaper stuff.
You removed things from the store, and added them in with "free" items that you need to spend a whole lot more to get.
And that's not even getting into the insane prices of the top end items.
Why are they even there?
I could understand some of the ~10k+ USD ones IF the coins rolled over. Getting that much over the span of a few years as an extra bonus? Not really that big of a deal, and kind of a nice incentive to keep spending.
But how many people in their right mind are going to spend $30k+USD in a single year on just this game? It's not even remotely a realistic proposition.
It would be one thing if they had one or two items that high up. Something crazy in the $10k USD spent range for the big spenders to get and then use or sell in game... but the crazy prices for that?
As it is now it's an "extra", but it's blatantly obvious that they are hoping those $$$$$$$$$$ items spur on some major nc coin purchases to try and get.

That $1gift coupon would be usable on items in the store at the same prices/currency as the $100 purchase.
In this case, you spend $100, and get 1 special token to use on vastly inflated merchandise they take you to a back room to show you.
The hope is you see that "special" merchandise and aren't thinking about the crazy amount of money you need to actually spend to get it. Especially when most of it can be purchased through other means (albeit not all legitimate) at prices that are, in some cases ~1/100th of the price.
You can argue that you are "Getting something" with the nc coin used to get those hero coins, but the additional value from them is not enough to make up that kind of difference.

a normal player who wants it must play every single day of CoC fight and try to win at least 70% of the matches and ask for clan / friends help to kill the other competitors / heroes going for the belt...
now lets just imagine if the same belt costed 5000 dolars worth in hero coins..then it would be a pay to win ..cause 5000 is a price that some ppl would achieve..and so those doing coc ingame would be just the poor left outs..
so by putti g the price extremely high ncsoft sends a message:
"hey...here is the belt..you can buy it...but you should definetly get it ingame like anyone else...this is not the best way to do it..."

All I can say is that yesterday when I saw the new Hero Coin System I raged for a bit (going on an on about pay2win), but after my initial wave of rage I realized that the exorbitant amount of money needed for end-game content items makes it more like pay2win only for the 1 idiot per server willing to risk his millionaire dad's fury after finding out his kid stole from the family's bank account for an Amaranthine weapon pack lol:D I find WuldSoul's post to be very much along the lines of the conclusion I reached.
NCSoft would do well not to cheapen the Hero Coin items or offer events like double the amount of Hero Coins, not to mention make Hero Coins tradeable.
I believe there is a simple error overlooked in the hero coin system, which leads to sky-high unrealistic amounts.
250,000.00 KPW (North Korean Won) = 1,898.37 USD
This means that 1 dollar equals 131.69 North Korean Won
Now, let us break this down a tiny bit more to see whether it's now a realistic amount, because of course 1.9k dollars is still a lot of money.
1900$ / 360 days = spending ~5.28$ every day
this * 7 = ~36.94$ a week
this *4 = ~147.78$ a month
(Rough calculation)

That would make the 250k belt roughly equal to $234 USD if it was a direct USD to krw conversion.
I don't think it's "quite" as simple as that kind of screw up, because that would be entirely TOO cheap for the top end items. However, I do stand by my earlier statement that their prices are ludicrous.
The top end items in the shop for more than a house or exotic car are laughable. But even many of the "cheap" items are over priced beyond that they should be.

This is an artificial world, there are rules and regulations to keep things within a certain balance... why? Because unlike the real world there is an option other than death to not be here, and that option is financially unattractive to the company that runs the game.
That is why it's illegal to RMT (except the nc store of course), it's illegal to train monsters into town, it's illegal to use exploits and bugs to "cheat" the system, etc.
Now it's certainly not meant to be 100% fair and equal to be sure, but the system needs to have a minimum level of balance enforced just to allow people to play.
If the top clan(s) on the server could, for instance, just kill anyone, anywhere, at any time, with no restrictions whatsoever, and there was no place for anyone to even hang out safely, let alone xp, the game would soon find itself completely devoid of almost all players.

240 000 hero coins equal 240 000 USD. This means you would have to spent 20 000 USD per month.
As far as I know there is limit of 100 USD per account per month which means you would have to spent 100 USD per moth on your main account and you would have to have additional 199 side accounts for gifting items to you main account.
Do you, NC soft, find it reasonable?
Especially if you look at the market and you can buy Talisman of longing for 15b adena. Based on shouts in game you can buy 100 M adena for 6 USD. (15 000 000 000 / 100 000 000) * 6 is 900 USD. That is a little bit something different than your 75 000 USD.
I understand you need to balance the prices but this looks like you made somewhere an error in exponent. It looks like your prices are 2 zeros out of range :-)

You keep going on about games being a "Utopia" where everyone is supposed to be on equal terms. A "Utopia" can never exist because there is always someone who wants to be better than the guy next to him. If games decide to go this route they might as well ban whoever is better than the rest.
I like the concept of the reward system introduced by NcSoft. My problem is not that it cost $250k to purchase a top item, because I would never do so. My problem is that it is impossible to purchase that amount of coins with the security system they have built into their payment system which limits the amount of coins that may be purchased at one time or a given month. I would be willing to bet that there are not enough NCoins Cards available for purchase to support even 20 people acquiring $250k worth of NCoins. With that said, I call this reward system a sham, a ponzi scheme, and very dishonest way to entice people to buy a product that will never payout. Kind of like a carnival game where you have to attain a certain number to get the big prize. But no matter how close you get to the number, you never reach the goal. You just keep paying money to get another chance to reach the target goal.
I hope NcSoft reevaluates the amount of coins required to get some of the top items and bring the reward system in line with their payment system, this would be fair for all parties. I will continue to purchase coins not for the top rewards but for the addiction of watching the exp bar increase. Thanks NcSoft for the free soul shots with my purchase of NCoins, PVE for life.

(which in the process they will EXPIRE )and knowning that the game is dying (sales are declining years now and so this game you even call it a "temporary decline of sales " like we dont know..)over a car which in long term its 1000000 times better?
To the people saying their system limits this. Believe me, I'm QUITE sure they would be more than happy to set up a 200k wire transfer for NC Coins.
But there are those who can afford to simply have others buy them nc coin cards for them as well. So their system can support it... it's just that it's positively silly.
Items up to 20-30k at MOST I can see. If you are a big nc coin spender, spending a ton on events, the wheel, and xp/sp items and the like, you could certainly hit that quantity.
I'd even say 1-2 items at 100k tokens "might" be doable for a few of the really big spenders. But that's pushing it.
The 2 big issues with this system are the generally inflated prices (even on many lower items) and the fact that it never rolls over.
10k coins in one year... yeah, not many will hit that, fewer still 20, 30, 40k+. But in 2, 3, 4 years? If someone wants to save up for some big ticket item, they should be able to.

Obviously there are very few people who could afford to spend that kind of money. Most of us can't. I'm sure no parent out there is going to allow their kids to buy enough to get that kind of hero coin. It's not just YOU that won't be able to get these things, it's pretty much MOST of us.
Besides that RMT sites are still going to come out ahead, it's cheaper to buy the adena and buy the item out right and that's what people are going to do. I KNOW I'll never be able to afford everything and I still manage to ignore that some players have better stuff than me. I can still do stuff with clan or myself. The cash shop isn't worth this crying.

I agree, If they really wanted to do something about the bots they would do it. Doesn't matter how much they nerf the adena drops, they will keep botting.

I can assure you that there is way more than a dozen who can afford such things, but people who make enough money to be able to afford to drop even $1k USD on the game, let alone $100k USD+ would generally have more sense than paying ~200k (or more) to get an item they can get elsewhere for only a few thousand.

This also would encourage people to spend nccoins because they would know in the end they'll get good stuff. Virtual stuff, but good. A Dark Amaranthine Weapon pack would end up costing around $3.800, Rulers Authority ~$2.100 and so on. This would actually grant some money to NC because people would know its achievable. $50.000+ for an item simple doesnt make sense for the regular Joe. Its not because its you or me or we are poor. Even rich people have their limits. Well Maybe Paris Hilton doesnt, but most of them have a brain in their heads.
Also more income from legit people would allow them to chase RTMers more aggresively without fear of their income being affected. Maybe wishful thinking but I still have hopes, silly me.

Also just to add, if you transferred servers your hero coins are messed up. They corrected mine today so open a ticket to support and ask them to check!

Look, this is not a support of RMT. THIS IS A BONUS PROGRAM. If you use this system to attain high value items you are not managing your resources properly. The bonus BEWRs associated to the NCoin Cards alone can help you reap more satisfying results.
However, if you do collect the cards in great hoards you can trade in the coins as an ADDED BONUS. This is not a primary resource for in-game items! Why this has to be explained over and over again is indicative to the lack of intelligence of way too many people in this community.

Just an update, GMs fixed my Hero Coin issue. I was issued the missing amount of coins that my character did not get because of a past server transfer.

On one of mine, the coins had actually gone to the wrong toon entirely and the other character had the wrong amount. Both had to do with server transfers.
ETA: Well from what was corrected I was able to get enough needed items to upgrade my talisman,so in a sense the kick back helped me in a small sense. Anyhow I can't say I did not benefit or make use of it on a minor level.

You wouldn't understand the pure havoc of a daily grind to obtain a simple item or level. Then, the joy of finally obtaining your goals through hard work. You wouldn't understand the agony of losing your hard earned gear from a simple non-chaotic death. You wouldn't understand the joy of defeating a Hero with your lower level toon and lesser gear. This game was a test of skill and pure competitiveness. Now it's all about who's gear is better and how large is your zerg.
