Lineage2 at its current state has become .... plain, monotone and boring to say at least.
There is actually nothing to keep you plaing L2, unless you`ve spent lots of cash on it and trying to compensate for that more or less.
But what about the game itself?Since every update it has became more and more bot heaven, game automation is a constant activity.Nothing is done to attract new players, on the contrary, each new update is like its made to repel newcomers...
What about the content?Even if there are new or reworked zones, it ALL boils down to go there kill that, today.No real lore or any solid story, nothing unique, nor anything personal for a given player.It's same thing, all day, everyday.
Yes I know that many RPGs are like that, but at least you have the oppotunity to learn something from them, enjoy a story line, PLAY a game as a game.

Targeting has became a mess, there are like 100k skills to remove your target and only if you use the magical holdtarget (ya know what I mean), you have huge advantage.Not to mention that targeting in L2 is stupid since ever.What da hell.
Debuff resists are another idiocy of the new chronicles, multiple ppl rerolled to Iss and kept Mystic Immunity just cos if you cant get debuffed, you are way harder to kill.Healers with these purges, celestials and all that.Skills that remove debuffs like Disparation, Undying Will , etc are on every **** single character... da hell?
Ok again daggers (and archers), but what the hell with Hide? Seriously there, dagger can stay nearly 5 min in hide in the olympiad? - when the whole match lasts 6 min?Using hide that lasts for over a minute when certain (f not all) classes got their skills active and popping out right when they are off, ye right.
And WHAT ABOUT some development you dead heads?It's so hard to develop protections and test stuff?Even if you hire a 1-handed monkey from Congo, you`ll have more success, than what you`re (not) doing at the moment.
Staff should step up and show some respect and care of their player base.Instead of telling us to send support tickets that go to the recycle bin, step up here and give some answers to what is going on, why is there nothing done?Are you even getting paid or they delay your salary last 30 months?!?

There is no come back bro L2 devs have no clue about what they're doing anymore. The only thing we can do now is to wait for Lineage Eternal expecting that they don't ruin the game, but making it a true sequel to Lineage 1.

There is content, and the story was actually pretty exciting when people where doing those instances (You go in shadow and run through that instance) and alot of people really liked the story (I didn't follow it so I don't know) but now they've brought back old raids, new raids, new gear to obtain (pvp stones, bloody or dark armor)
3.) PVP is what you make it, if your level 98 with seraph armor and trying to fight 99 people with +12 Dark pvp bows, of course your not going to have fun in open pvp nor Olympiad. However, if you are 99 with half decent gear and a brain, the pvp can be quite enjoyable, inside and outside of olympiad. Or are you a person that tells me I am "Chicken" or "Go play another game" Because I run around pillars and waste your UD and then you cry Im cheating? Strategy does wonders. The target drops are NOTHING in comparison to the old days. Did you play when sps was spaming aura flash? Stun shot from archer dropped your target, mirage was OP and dagger had trick that worked amazing?
4.) Debuff resists keep you alive and keep the fights lasting more than 30 seconds. Damage this update is insane, even with so many cleanses, debuff resists, its balanced quite well with the amount of debuffs cast. If you were playing in HB when your toon would get Crit wounded and block wwd sure, you didn't need so many ways to cleanse yourself or resist debuffs, but this update EVERY Class has 3 or 4 critical debuffs they can do and land, that are always needing to be cleansed or you will die, fast. (Healers, your main job in pvp is cleanse!!!)
5.) People playing FOTM classes? Nothing new in this game or any game. Play something that kills it if it bothers you that bad, but if you keep rerolling every 3months because someone plays a new class that kills you, but dont cry when your level 89 with no gear because you cant pick a class. This game isn't designed for a quick turn around, pick a class, stick with it. Expect MONTHS of playing to even see any changes in your class progress at endgame, updates in the game and so fourth. Politic twists, everything in this game takes MONTHS.
6.) The game is "Free" and years old (I think I've played for, 8 years on and off and I started in late c3) so I wouldn't expect any major changes in the staff, if anything its only dwindling. Its been that way sense I've started, I dont know why you would expect changes now?

First Time I cared to respond to a post this long or write something more than a few sentences. If you dont enjoy the game go play somthing else. At this point its all about the company of friends that keeps most of us around, but the game isn't as awful as you make it sound imo.
Yes I miss that one too; it was the best story-line quest I've ever played in a game. For me that'll be a marker to my decision to leave, it is all feeling downhill to a bot game with no live players. I've played quite a few games but none were as good as L2 and there aren't any coming out I'd like to play. My friends keep me here ;) Have you noticed how we all talk about the events we used to have?
My favourite one was when a huge group of mobs appeared from a rip in the graphics. The future for L2 is clouding over fast and the devs etc need to act if they want it to continue.
what do you expect, with all the teleports/knockdowns and all the unnecessary crap that was added. And it doesn't look like it's going to change, so just wait a bit and soon it will be all over!
I mostly agree with ya Mixa....but there's still some fun to be had. Maybe not so much the in depth type of fun as I feel there used to be, but there's still things to do at multiple levels. I do get bored on my main after dailies are done....so then I play with my Iss a bit...duals a bit...some alts, etc... Then jump on one of my many PKs... It is what you make it... I always find something to do to keep myself entertained. But as far as the high end pvp etc, it is really ridiculous that everybody and their mother has++ skills/armor/weps/accessories/etc... element this, resist that......some days I wish everyone had the same closet full of armor to choose from..no elements/resists/+s....same with weps etc.... Then we'd all be on the same playing ground. But it's not that way, so we'll have to accept what L2 has become and stay or go. Sad. So far, I stay and deal with it.
Well NC took more content to the game what wouldn't be necessary mainly the instances.
Also I guess the high amount of AOE and Celestial type skills are just mostly break the PvPs. Also the crazy aoe skill effects can make the mass pvp sometimes a bit annoying.
But except these I don't think, that Lineage 2 has any another negative thing.
Except these the game is way better in every parts as It used to before the Goddess of Destruction.
About the economy just those players cry all time who only do instances, it is so brutal easy to get Adena nowadays and get gear and if the standards you have isn't hard to get the top items.
Nobody doesn't need to bot farm or do ebay or something.

I'd like to ask you about this. I am 99 like you are but I am not a spoiler. The suitable open areas for me are Pagans where there are virtually no drops at all, or Hellbound where even adena doesn't drop, or Crossroads where again there are virtually no drops at all and as I am not a half-killer it's also costly on shots if I can get any party there at all, and LOC where again there are virtually no drops. Cemetary drops a few mats but not very much with any real worth. And Orbis where there are almost no drops again. I also tend to play upwards of 4-6 hours a day too so I am not particularly a casual type player.

But the best solution to everybody, get to Dual Class a spoiler, anytime when you need to farm money you just change and it is done.
Or level up a spoiler.

From C5 to Garcia Epilogue update except the KE farm and events, was impossible to farm Adena without a spoiler or spoiler alt char.
So that is why the spoiler from Freya to Glory Days update became to more and more useless.
And they could return as useful class from Lindvior.
I'm spoiler I know well how good moneys the parties would be able to do, if they would take a spoiler to party to open field and all of them would buy prestige pack.

On my server on Naia people often search pwlvl for Adena, you as Mage type class can be very good dps, if you change a good spot to your class. This is already an option how you can get money. There is also the Ceremony of Chaos and the Olympiad too.
Also there are some quests, what still can mean good incoming. From many small things you can make 1 bigger, but bad or good, it is right, that currently the spoilers and crafters are the best classes to make money.
BTW you could do the Hellbound quests for material recipes, It is even long to get one, but if you get it, it is a lots of money. I did also solo aoe on STR 3 or STR 2 when my Yul Sagi Dual was 98 it was still in the Valiance update so I can say in Str 3 and Str 2 the drops are quite good, I got a lots of key mats while the mobs were light blue for me.
NCSoft already gave up on Lineage so forget about it. But they corrected themselves in Blade and Soul. Only the story line is on +100500 points better and interesting than in all their other games. It never released in west. For koreans yes i was on beta 2 years ago. Last year China servers started to work. Think this year they release it on NCWest.
L2 is free, everybody come, leave and return when he wants. Everyone can tell his opinion about the game.
Before l2 was p2p 15$ for month now for this u can get a prestige pack and free trio box. It is quite enough to achieve everything. Yes developers had some bad decisions what made negative points to l2, but our community is crap too what even more worse.
If you have problem like this do a favor to me and to l2 team, don't QQ, just take a break or quit, better if they ban the bots in the time what in they read your useless QQ posts.

I'm taking of what it has became recently, yes I do remember very well the stuff you've listed, but still the skills back then had way higher reuse than they do now.
Actually I got no that big trouble in PvP, but dahell, Im a **** tyrr that has to go on wiz harmony for mass PvP, so I can actually do something.
Also back in the days you couldn't reroll so easy as its done now, hell, they gave the stupid Chaos Essence, so ppl change classes like there is no tomorrow.
We actually played together back in the Luna days and you weren't happy with many things back then too.
Nevermind, I'll try to cover more problem areas when I feel like it.

you dont get it. those spots mentioned by matt doesnt generate adena and your way doesnt generate other, if you spoil just to sell to others.
there are more ways to generate adena, but one quick ways is to have a bunch of 85-89 chars and do zaken/freya the sell everything you get to npc.

Aion got hyped and was fine, but all ppl afraid of huge xp loss and endless grind like L2 and hardcore pvp. You can't blame the developer when the players dont know what they want.

People just need to find something interesting in L2 and they won't feel the effect how bad of a game it really is. Yes it's pretty bad :<
I find it in poling, using lesser equipment (just for a challenge) since it takes me back to past years. Testing stuff, trying to get to a next level in gaining knowledge. Playing with a friend or friends it makes this game even more enjoyable.
Try to find things that you like doing and you'll be fine.
And about target cancel... It's not that bad, do you remember how annoying was an Adventurer with mirage, switch and trick? It's was a pain in the *** trying to pvp against that class.
About the lore, try reading the dialoge when doing quests. It gives some part of the storyline to the game.

In short, in the supposedly empty Catacombs (Shilen had sacrificed her followers) strange things are going on. So King Amadeo Cadmus of Aden sends in an expedition under the leadership of an Elf-Human halfblood Einhasad priest and prophet who had already made an appearance in the GoD (http://lineage2.plaync.com/board/cartoon/list?aliasName=doomsday) comic (http://gametsg.techbang.com/lineage2/index.php?keyword=%E6%9C%80%E5%BE%8C%E4%B9%8B&view=msgboard&x=0&y=0). The priest reveals that Einhasad has been sealed up together with Shilen. When all seven Seals have been broken, Einhasad will also wake up and stop Shilen's plan of bringing eternal death to the world. But Shilen has the option of not waiting until all the Seals are broken but to instigate a huge sacrificing of people, which will also give her back her old power.
In an unnamed Catacomb the expedition discovers a labyrinth of secret rooms that covers 10 times the area of the place that has been so far known. They investigate that, and two weeks later they run into the petrified Lilith, who turns out to have not really been petrified at all. Suddenly Anakim appears, everybody is greatly relieved, until the priest gets a nasty surprise. It transpires that Anakim had lost to Lilith in their perpetual fight but was revived by Shilen with a kiss of life, which turned her into a Fallen Angel, tasked with bringing Shilen ever more sacrificial victims. The two girls cooperate and wipe out the expedition. Thereupon King Amadeo Cadmus gives the order to hire mercenaries all over Aden and Elmore to stop Lilith and Anakim.
The interesting thing is that while in C1 Lionna is part of the feudal system, in Valiance she has become the leader of the revolutionary People's Army which gets defeated by Sieghardt. Lionna, Devianne and Elikia vanish into the sunset. Some years before Valiance Lionna has under the assumed name Noelle stayed in an inn on the Schuttgart-Goddard border where she met Agatha, the landlord's 16 year old daughter who was taking care of her infirm father, and her brother Aiban, who wanted to become a soldier in the castle.
Now Lionna, Devianne and Elikia are staying in the same inn again and witness how Agatha is sold into slavery because the family is owing 26 months of taxes. After some discussion whether they should meddle in this affair, the three ladies follow the slave traders, but the ship has departed before they can catch up with them. They manage to question some minions though, and it turns out that Iason Heine, who has killed Lionna's parents many years ago, is selling a great number of slaves to Beleth. After some difficulty Lionna finds a captain who is willing to take her and Devianne to Hellbound, while Elikia goes to Heine and tries to find out more about Isaon Heine.
On Hellbound, Lionna and Devianne can't break the protective spell Beleth has cast on the door to the Steel Citadel. They get waylaid by monsters, and one that Lionna kills calls her Noelle. It turns out that Beleth is doing experiments on the slaves Iason Heine sells him, Dr. Moreau style. He needs life energy to feed Core Naia, and the new creatures on Hellbound are sort of incubators for that life energy. Due to the chaotic nature that was given to them by Gran Kain during their creation, Humans have the most life energy of all races, which ultimately enabled them to become the rulers of the continent.
While Elikia has found out that Iason Heine is a low-ranking member of Embryo, which in turn is a cadre organization within the Lords of Dawn, Lionna and her comrades are collecting Chaos Fragments - items that Beleth needs for his experiments - and pulverizing them in an old crusher the Giants had originally constructed to destroy captured weapons of the Gods. This lures out Beleth, who spouts a lot of fascistoid nonsense about Gran Kain having divided mankind into the Chosen and the Victims, then assumes the three clones that can be seen in the new raid - one for Lionna, one for Devianne and one for their unnamed local helper.
A fierce fight ensues, Elikia comes to the rescue in the last minute, resurrecting Lionna with Blessing of Eva, and Beleth vanishes. It wasn't the real Beleth at all, just clones. The three ladies return to the old inn to tell Aiban about the death of his sister. Lionna convinces Aiban to give up his plan to become a runnig dog of the castle lord and recruits him for the People's Army, then Lionna, Devianne and Elikia set out for Talking Island to track down the leader of Embryo.
