they previously had lineage 2 available on steam.
the times were different then though.
lineage can be downloaded for free from their web site and does not require steam. the game has a "launcher" which is designed specifically to let you know you need an update. most of us don't use it unless it's a big maintenance... as the launcher continues to run in the background for some reason lineage active or not... so those of us who care, remove it from startup using msconfig.
but i clearly digress...
back on topic... yeah, it used to be in steam, i knew of a few people who had obtained it through steam. but i don't think it was a large enough market for lineage, as most steamers are not here for mmo grind games.
Steam has their own launcher which auto-updates all the games that the launcher has in it's personalized library that each user owns. Lineage 2 has it's own launcher that does the same thing in addition to launching Game Guard, which is notorious for getting spotted as keylogger/virus on certain Anti-Virus programs. Game Guard also prevents certain programs from launching. A huge program that it blocks from launching is Steam. Now, lets imagine Gabe Newell asking NCSoft to replace Game Guard with Steam's anti-cheating program to become part of Steam. We, the players, would say "YAY! do it!"... well, ok, some of the players who are really playing it legit will say "yay". NCSoft, being the cheap *** corporation that they are, would say "Hell no, that would cost money" ...... ok, the real reason, according to rumors, NCSoft gets paid to let people cheat.
So, in short, NO! I don't want this POS game to be included in Steam because it becomes redundant, corrupts a great consumer outlet that is Steam, and with games being introduced and innovated each day, L2 will be back on the "F" list of games.

Anyone else re-read these sentences like 5 times, and still not understand them?
