Magic Critical Rate (M. Critical for short) allows you to land more criticals when casting magic spells.
What is the Max M. Critical Rate?
500
What is the highest chance to land a critical spell with the Max M. Critical Rate?
At 500 M. Critical, there is a 32% chance that you will land a critical when casting a magic spell.
Adding WIT to your character will help increase your M. Critical stat. To get to 500 M. Critical on your character, you will obviously need buffs, equipment, and skills.
How much WIT gives M. Critical?
I have given a chart below using a naked (no skills learned/no buffs) level 99 mage to demonstrate the effects of just adding WIT for M. Critical.
Naked Level 99 Mage:
1 WIT = 24 M. Critical
5 WIT = 24 M. Critical
10 WIT = 25 M. Critical
15 WIT = 26 M. Critical
20 WIT = 27 M. Critical
25 WIT = 29 M. Critical
30 WIT = 31 M. Critical
35 WIT = 33 M. Critical
40 WIT = 35 M. Critical
45 WIT = 37 M. Critical
50 WIT = 40 M. Critical
55 WIT = 43 M. Critical
60 WIT = 46 M. Critical
65 WIT = 50 M. Critical
70 WIT = 53 M. Critical
75 WIT = 58 M. Critical
80 WIT = 62 M. Critical
85 WIT = 66 M. Critical
90 WIT = 71 M. Critical
95 WIT = 75 M. Critical
100 WIT = 80 M. Critical
105 WIT = 85 M. Critical
110 WIT = 89 M. Critical
115 WIT = 94 M. Critical
120 WIT = 98 M. Critical
125 WIT = 102 M. Critical
130 WIT = 106 M. Critical
135 WIT = 110 M. Critical
140 WIT = 114 M. Critical
145 WIT = 117 M. Critical
150 WIT = 120 M. Critical
175 WIT = 131 M. Critical
200 WIT = 137 M. Critica
Hi JuJi
Is it really true that max m.crit rate is only around 33-35%?
Because based on tests from many players for the last couple months, they say even though we have 500 m.crit, it still only give max of 33-35% (NOT 50% like you said in this post)
I also tested myself with 500 m.crit, and it only give 33-34% MAX
When I took out AQ SOUL RING and ISTINA WIZ RING, and +8 Stocking, my crit went down to 300 but it still give around 31-33%
Is there any way that we can make an accurate test on this one?
Any1 else has any idea on this issue???

Any1 else has any idea on this issue???I'll do a test for it. The devs have it at 50% chance for Max M. Critical Rate.
Attack Skill Critical Rate is not the same for all skills.
Some skills have a higher base crit then others.
For example from my Tyrr testing Triple Sonic Slash seemed to be somewhere between 15-20% where megastrike and powerbomber were somewhere around 5%.
I would argue that while there may be a cap on the amount of mcrit can yield on a skills effective critical rate that will vary between attacks depending on the base crit rate of the skill.
Further M.CRIT on heals seems to fully factor in as healers ive talked too with 400+ mcrit seem to heal crit almost every other heal (as depicted).
Anyhow this is a fairly deep but interesting rabit hole that really only juji can reliably test since he can set his test server to 0 damage variance and run some loops.
That is interesting Diego for sure. So mcrit works at 1 point = 1% pretty much for healers ( or for heals ) but for mages ( or basic nukes) that is definitely not the case. I would put max mage crit at 25-30% and nowhere near 50%.
first I am 99 dark elf feoh storm screamer full eternal gear +4 ama retri acu +15 int -1 wit tats, +7 shiny elemental shirt, 14 day boss jewl pack, coc earing lvl 3 opal sapphire emarld jewls, enhanced oct bracelet and annilation tailsmen.
sub skills = lvl 4 m.atk lvl 4 cast speed lvl 4 m.crit
dual skills = lvl 2 p.atk/m.atk
2 ap points in nobles empower
unbuffed M. Critical stat = 138
lvl2 clan hall buffs + wiz spirit M. Critical = 246
now I did 1000 hits on clan hall npc unbuffed and got a 31.3% crit rate
Then 1000 hits with buffs and got 31.1% crit rate
test conducted in fire stance with elemental spike
Conclusion m.crit stat does not effect actual crit rate???????
although this is a very narrow test so maybe my conclusion is wrong?? i would love if someone can do a much more in-depth test, i do not have the time for this myself or i would.
It looks like the M. Critical Chance is capped at 33% for both heals and magic attacks.
I just tested with Panic Heal and received 332/1,000 M. Criticals.
Will ask the devs for confirmation.
Thanks for confirmation.
So now please get the devs to urgently ...
1) set the magic crit cap to 50% as intended
2) make INT increase magic crit damage as intended (check website-info).
... to finally ungimp us Fail Feohs.
LMAO its a FREE server that's how you got this M Crit, and not showing the complete picture says it all :( cheat dare I say it!
Why? I had around 425 Mcrit rate and there are people who have got way better equip than I have.
Update: The devs said that 32% is the maximum critical chance for magic spells and that it is intended for balance reasons. It may change in a future update though.
I dont want to upset anyone...but sience when Devs start to care about balance classes? :)
It was retoric...no need answer for that :)
(I mean Iss Spectral should have highest "damage" amoung his kind..but he havent....dooomcryer on the other hand...)

Now that Mcrit rate nerf is officially confirmed, what about this Juji?:
INT and CritDamage:
According to the GoD Patchnotes on the official site the basic attribute stats have been changed:
INT
(old Bonus) M. Atk.
(new Bonus) M. Atk., M. Critical Damage
Juji wanted to ask the korean devs already a year or two ago why this is not working as intended.
Well, it's still bugged.
A one in three crit rate isn't a nerf, this is a class I've always played and loved and love being a glass cannon, but even I realistically can't ask for more than that. If they were critting every other hit ( which we have in the past ) or more, we'd deserve to be "nerfed".
Look at L2 as a whole over time, not a chronicle here and there, but as a whole over time and no other class is as pure a DPS machine as we have been. Plenty of times in the past they've messed with us and I said something about it in threads, but this isn't one of them.
You wanting to crit 50% or more is just crying because you want a "win" button.

Reading comprehension - a skill one cannot obtain in L2.
The problem with m. crit rate, that you fail to see for the tenth time, is the bugged and misleading information Ncsoft is giving to players. People spend billions augmenting for active and passive wild magic that gives 0,2% more crit chance. Now, people can spend their money on more useful things instead boosting a ninja-nerfed stat.
I know what you are going to write in your next post, so spare us the history lesson about 5-6 years ago and how normal is the situation and etc.
So i just have to ask ,because i not understand ,some ppls say this ,some say other :P
So 32% chance for critical hit we get at 500 m.crit rate ,or that 32% is already from 320 m.crit ?

Could you update us about the M. Critical rate ?
It's really 320 the max we need to have to cap our criticals ?
