Microsoft Ends Windows XP Support on April 8, 2014

Microsoft has announced they will officially end support for Windows XP on April 8, 2014. We want to make sure our players understand what this means to Lineage II. While you will still be able to use your Windows XP computer, your computer will no longer receive critical updates from Microsoft after April 8, 2014. So how does this affect you as a Lineage II player? There is no immediate impact of this change, but moving forward the game will no longer be optimized for the OS. You will still be able to log into the game normally, but as the game updates, there are chances you will run into game compatibility issues. For now, you may not be the impacted, but do be aware of this change coming.

- Frequently Asked Questions -

Q: Why is Microsoft discontinuing support for Window XP?

You can read about Microsoft’s decision to end support for Windows XP on their website here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/xp/end-of-xp-support.aspx).

Q: Why won’t Lineage II be compatibility with Windows XP anymore?

Compatibility for an Operating System is completely reliant on Microsoft support for the OS. When Microsoft decides to end support, we must follow suit to ensure our game remains secure and optimal for the supported OS.

Q: Can you make Lineage II remain compatible with Windows XP?

Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. Without updates and support from Microsoft on the OS, we cannot ensure our game remains fully compatible.

Q: I use Windows XP. Can I still contact Tech Support for help?

Our Tech Support team will help if they can but if they deem your issue related to Windows XP, the issue is out of their hands at that point.

Q: My computer uses Windows XP. What should I do?

To avoid a vulnerable computer and compatibility issues, Microsoft suggests upgrading your Operating System. Upgrading may not be an option if your computer is older so please see this tutorial (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/upgrade-from-windows-vista-xp-tutorial) from Microsoft.

Q: I used Windows Vista, 7 or 8. Does this affect me?

This only currently affects players using Windows XP.

I use Windows XP. I haven't updated it in ages, and not going to.

All I can say is I don't have any problems running Lineage 2 and Google Chrome at the same time, while lots of Windows 7/8/whatever users seem to be having constant troubles with that.
I win :p

While Z-Rambo support Windows XP there is no reasons to change operational system.
the ***** with windows xp, really. But I just wanted to know:

- why gamemguard still conflicts with google chrome and make the whole pc freeze the hell out;

- why L2 conflicts with skype, till it gets so annoying that you close either one of them just to be free;

- why L2 tends to conflicts with WMP and EVERY other programs that you try to run simultaneously while playing the game.

Serious, should we buy a new and exclusive PC only to play this game? Dont ***** us up even more, please.

thanks i thought that was only me i recently purchased a brand new laptop just to play this game but it seems like L2 is killing my pc on wind 8.1

- skype program crashes
- google chrome bugs out (the most annoying bug)
- computer freezes and gforce driver crashes continuously also i get blue screens of death due to this problem
- gameguard is most likely the cause of all these problems sorry but just get rid of that garbage program its counter-productive

There will be some bugs fixed in next week's patch. Not just localization updates either.

I don't use Chrome, because it's bloat (is it really that hard to just... use another browser?).

But I don't have any issues with Windows Media Player or [Desktop] Skype.
