Dear fellow gamers and NCSoft support & developers
It is with great sadness that I yet again remind you about the decrease in drops and spoils, gameplay etc..
This game is slowly being tampered with, bit by bit we lose things in Lineage II that actually made us play this game in the first place, and now that these things are slowly taken away, it leaves but a void of pixels and disappointment.
Drops / Spoils
Adena drops and item drops even from the highest of levels to the lowest in this game is at an all time low. There are no material drop or key material drop of note, unless you killed 10.000 mobs you might be a few metallic fibers.
A party in Nornil or the good old Execution grounds aka. GF you get an astounding 100-250 adena per party member.
Spoils from lv 1-84 are non-existent. I remember it used to be so nice to just go Enchanted Valley and spoil steel and EWC when grinding on ones main was too boring. At level 85+ the only place you can really spoil anything of note is Garden of Genesis.
Lowbie Raid bosses are back to their old selves, finally. Or are they? Nope there is definitely something wrong. Yes, there it is. Drops. Well I just solo'ed 7 raidbosses 38-43 and back in the old days they used to give all sorts of crap, which I happened to like. Designs, dyes, useless Nuclues of all shapes and sizes. Now the chance of getting anything is so low that it's kind of hard to see the point.
Walker, rangerz, autospam of potions and targeting systems seem to be more common now than not to use it, however, still illegal. What's the point?
Yes, I am sounding like a depressed elpy after you dropped the new and improved Talking island village right on top of my favourite carrot spot when GoD came, and I suppose I am. I am depressed, because a large number of my friends just migrated to Innova Core server for some bot free, ranger free, autotargeting free server action with xp and drop rates that match what we once had, before having to buy it in the Not-so-free-to-play L2store that, which once again, made this game the most expensive game I ever the had the pleasure of playing.
PKer and pk'ing
Once an epic addition to this ground breaking MMO, now slowly but securely the player killer option is being eradicated. There are so many restrictions now for PK'ers that it is becoming less and less attractive to do, even if it is quite necessary sometimes. You get karma, you can drop items if you have 4 PKs or more (not 5 and more now-recently changed). You cannot port. You cannot talk to shops unless in Floran. If you PK and die you lose 5 % xp, which cannot be regained by resurrection or BREZ. Quite unattractive to say the least. This gradual change in the PK'ing system will continue till no one uses it anymore. The hammer will hit, and the message will be; since no one uses it anymore, we at NCSoft has decide to remove it all together.
Where are the old cool high level spots for some endgame action? Hellbound and Hellfire? Hellbound the land where you might find the lowest rate of drops and spoils in this entire game. Where are the end game action.
All in all... once a good game... now a pale shadow of what once were.
If you have any respect whatsoever to the legacy of Lineage II stop destroying it. Stop making it an expensive l2store based game. It's not free-to-play if you can't get spoils/drops or even XP/SP unless you buy runes.
All in all... once a good game... now a pale shadow of what once were.
Quoted for truth. Sad, but really sums it up.
So go play another game. You don't have to keep playing L2
He may already be playing something else. He may also want to play this again if it gets better. Does it hurt to try and improve it by stating one's opinion?

Insanity is repeating the same thing over and over expecting a different result.
have to agree with the original post. Don't listen to the cranky ppl who respond as they do.
I for one find it therapeutic to get things off my chest at times. Seems some ppl would rather just find fault with you than be a fellow gamer that can at least appreciate the truth.
If you wanna be spiteful and mean spirited, make your own post and tell the world how miserable and alone you are. Leave the fun and common folks to enjoy their freedom to express themselves.
It is true that NCsoft doesn't care and hasn't for years. Its also true that what ruined the game was not NCsoft. What ruined the game was the PLAYERS who decided to lower their integrity for the sake of a digital "win".
NCsoft is a business. They are in it for the money not to please us, the player. The economics of the game failed long ago when the "player" decided that in order to win they needed to RMT. Increasing the drops and adena wouldn't fix things now and wouldn't have done so for years.
Most of the players I know personally don't play for the game so much anymore as the social aspect.
Most are now Alpha and soon Beta on Archage or another NON-NCsoft game.
Website for NCsoft.KR has/had a huge "Integrity" on it. Sadly, if that was true then it must be reserved for the few. Rest of the world got nothing to support healthy evolution of the game. Pay2win is nothing new. It just is a new way to say something that's been around since the game started. Those that accept the risk enjoy the rewards.
I for one am glad I never compromised myself to try and prove anything to anyone. A win in game is just a momentary thing. Knowing I am doing the right thing, worth more than the sum total of all you that chose to cheat in order to win in a game. Gotta say that makes me laugh every time.
The game lacks of many things, including a healthy community. Why cant anyone come and share some ideas, without receiving short and stupid answers from "true veterans uber hardcore real L2 player" ?
Its also true that what ruined the game was not NCsoft. What ruined the game was the PLAYERS who decided to lower their integrity for the sake of a digital "win".
... you serious?
Okay let me explain how any game works. In each game there is a set number of rules. Break any of these rules and it is up to the game master to take action. Do I need to go further into detail?
Chinese farmers had access to our servers and ruined them. They weren't here to play the game for fun. They were on our servers/game to make irl money. They took over the raids and hunting grounds forcing most players to pay rmt (unless you were in the top clan, or figured out a trick to make money) so they could wear gear to continue to play the game. So this "it was the players who ruined the game" is just another copout so NCsoft can opt out of taking any responsibility (like our government). To add salt, NCsoft started banning legit players who reported bots too much, instead of banning the bots themselves.
And the final proof is I've seen low rate private servers with 0 bots and more activity than retail servers.
People will cheat, always have, always will. If there's nothing or no one around to call them on it and do something about it others will follow suite, this continues to the point that otherwise honest players also follow suite to compete. Its the players fault for cheating, its the staffs fault for not enforcing their own EULA.
Who's more at fault is debatable, just call it 50/50 and call it a day. :D
This remark leads me to assume you are not happy with the game either, but you say nothing about. Probably you have compromised with the current situation, which is your right to do so. As it is the right of other people not to do so and voice their discomforts and disagreements.
Hint: If anything changes in this game ever, it will be due to the people that didn't compromise (although I don't hold high hopes for L2).
If we lived in a perfect world without jerks, delinquents, cheaters, scammers, and so forth, then I would say "sure, the game was ruined by the players". But we don't, so it is up to the company running the game to take responsibility for managing the game. If they don't want to then it will be ruined, and not just by players/cheaters (think bugs, account recovery, servers being down, and so forth).
Although the following is not a solution either:
Instead of mmorpg companies hiring gm's to manage their game servers, they are placing sa***uards on everything:
All equipment/items is binded (no more free market or open trading)
If game has pvp, only in pvp zones or safe zones every 10 seconds away (No more risk vs reward and the thrill of fight to survive).
Forcing carebear games now and forever on releases isn't going to solve the problem. Instead all you will get is dummied down games for the next dummy downed generation, leaving many gamers breaking up with their favorite hobby.
In short, NCsoft killed L2. Just like they killed Aion, and soon to be B&S and WildStar.
Instead of trying to fix the problem with the current game, they dump it away and create a new one. Then morons fall for it and get sucked into the new shiney. Thus the buy/sell circle continues between business scamming and naive players.
You don't even need live GM's, just decent protection protocols and random full server/game sweeps.
I played LoD until late into it, and sure there were wide spread abuses, but they fixed exploits fairly fast and still did random sweeps that took out hordes of cheaters even well past its heyday.
But just because the company should work to provide us with a clean environment, it does not excuse those who attempt to dirty it up when they do not. Old Bartz stayed so clean so long because players took pride in their accomplishments and black balled any known cheaters.Players need to police themselves to a degree as well, not just wait for mommy and daddy to stop the cheaters and maybe catch them with their hands in the cookie jar as well.
We gotta stop beating this horse anyways, no CPR is going to revive L2's corpse, its been dead far to long. :o

Players will police themselves until they realize there is nobody enforcing the rules, and the cheaters outweigh the legits who no longer stand a chance in surviving in the game. So I have to respectfully disagree with you on this.
If you are talking about LoD, you should know it's already been a lost cause and anything NC tries to do to repair the damage is too late. The legits have already left the game (maybe like 5-10 players who still play legitly?).

But again sure, lets not beat a dead horse.
With LoD I just meant that if NC had followed even a passive campaign like WoWC did with LoD, even live GM's wouldn't have been needed.
On players policing themselves, we can do it, it was proven on old Bartz, we were still a extremely legit server while Teon was program city and the other servers are where players ran from Bartz to bot it up. It just has to be a top to bottom policy so anyone cheating knows they will never get into any decent clan.
The waters got muddied a little after UR left, and turned black after transfers, but we did a very good job up til that point. :D

There are two kinds of policies:
A set of rules (such as the eula) which is useless unless it is enforced.
An interactive policy that places sa***uards where players have to give up a little of their freedom for the feeling and illusion of security.
Take WoW for example. It was a big success because of great management. Even though I didn't like the game, I was very satisfied with the management:
If I reported a bot or cheater, a gm would message me and let me know the abuser was banned within 5-30 minutes.
They had (and still have) a call in service for any in-game/out-game related issues.
I once got my account hacked (back in 2005). Instead of saying sorry, but it's your responsibility and we have to perm ban your account (which is what ncsoft would do), they whitelisted my account for 2 weeks (to mitigate the player reports from the chat spams the farmers were using), and gave me all my gear and gold back. How's that for service?
I will leave you with this final thought:
A great game can last a long time with bad players and good management.
A great game can not last a long time with good players and mismanagement (think lets ban accounts for bad user reviews, which again ncsoft did do). This is lineage 2.
A great game will have a very unhealthy quantity of players very quickly if it has bad players and mismanagement.
I will also add, once a business shows it's true shady colors, a customer will much likely never do business with this shady business again.
I'll give you clear example. I was in a meeting recently with the director of this multi-bil automation system (which I refuse to touch, because it's one big ****-job and I don't want to end up owning the code for adding another bug). I'm on another team who is being forced to use this system by my director.
My friend/boss asked the automation director a question. "when you guys ship down a prod update on us, and we find a bug in it, who's responsibility is it to fix that bug?"
The directors answer?
It's your responsibility.
Our response?
Okay thanks, looks like we won't be using your system anymore.
Sure, we had plenty of bad engineers on our team who instead of figuring things out on their own hand it down to me. But it wasn't the bad engineers fault. It was the mismanagement of this broken system with one big **** job that turned into one big pile of crap due to lack of resources being handed over.
This automation director is probably going to be a dishwasher by next year, and why?
He has shown his true colors and nobody will want to work with him now.

yet EA still sells millions of copies of games and makes billions in the process inspite of the fact everybody and their aunt hates them .... just sayin
Totally agree with the creator of the topic (using bing translator)
That's not all this messing with the server, is a set of factors, most players of the dominant clans for example, they mostly or partly has its chars of bots spreading gathering adena, material and so on, and it actually breaks the trade, they that have power because they are the ones who have adena to spendThey define the cost of each item and everything is expensive, costly for everyone.
Because the actions of the players using Bot and ******* for example is exact in the face of NCsoft.
For if I, common player see mechanical actions of players with the use of bot, bot for Qatar adena, items, material and even bot paw hitting pvp and mass pvp.
To sum it all up, the game has lost its meaning, most of the players are breaking the rules, and NCsoft doing blind, just to ignore it. And you can be sure, major users of ******* and Bot are in large-sized, those clans that dominate each game server, they have most of the chars around the server, they are killing the server. Only the NCsoft that can't see that? They say that they don't realize for example using *******s Massif in the fights of olympiadas? The COC? My God, how did they ignore it? I want them to respond, as a Healer can stay alive with several chars of high damage, taking its target being pulled for example. As a Healer for example can click yourself, clicks and vary click another target for attack, and all this at high speed, a healer in a mass pvp could or would have this ability all being played on hand, but suffice it to observe that my dear GM.
The game completely lost sense, why today we played with something fully automatic, are no longer players, and funnier than these players take wave with the faces of the other players, got their items on the basis of breach of rules, using bot and bot, and use bot to fight mass pvp, pvp, Olympics, coc and so whatever. What I think you should do:
1-Ban all bots farm areas.
2-GM Watch all the fights at the Olympic heroes and also in the COC.
3-once in a while the GM staring mass pvp fights, and see who has impossible things a player can do all on speed. An example: Dagger uses the clones, yet another dagger just picks up the original ... Healer getting change target easily, and thus preventing to be dead and taking others ' debuff and be able to prevent others from using skills to use skill to push always on time that the enemy will use a skill.
In a community full of massified plp u come here and is against one of the few guys that is telling the truth?
If you don't agree with the guy is your right but don't try to silence him.
"Go to play another game" is not the answer we are looking for here.
We want L2 to be the best again and not play another game.
Oh if I had a nickle for every time I heard....
well anyway, good luck with that. I'm sure if enough people blast on the forums, ncsoft will start to listen and your game will improve immediately, kind of like it did here:
As for me, I'll be at home doing essentially the same thing you are. The only difference is when I get finished playing with myself, I'm going to have a little something to show for it folks.
I'm just calling a spade a spade here kids. Don't delude yourself into thinking this game will return to its C1 glory. I haven't accepted anything NC does as appropriate or right. It just is.
You won't see me spending hundreds a month in that silly store. That store is for the whiners who want to legally buy their way up and strut their shiny sh^t around like they owned the game. Every day new threads pop up crying about the same thing someone else cried about 2 hours ago...it didn't matter then and it won't now.
I feel bad for those of you that can't see past that and just play for the joy of logging in for the friends and simple enjoyment versus obsessing over what the other players buy or can buy that you can't.

It's impressive job but I won't do anything. I'm not being payed to make this.
But yes...The guy made a rly good job.
The only way people can give answer to NCSoft is stoping to give them money.
And that's what I'll do untill I can use my ping reduction program again.

That "guy" that did a impressive job was GrandSavage, and he did it late 2004, early 2005, do you begin to get the picture ?
Its been 10 years, nothing has changed, instead its gotten far worse. Dream all you want, L2 died a long time ago, we're just a bunch of necrophiliacs playing with it's corpse.
