So I'm an old schooler, have played since the closed beta to up until C3 I believe, or whichever had the lv75 cap I believe it was. I used to be on Erica server before they merged the servers.. So anyway, question is the title.. I was a sword singer lv73 which I had trouble leveling at the time, is this game worth playing anymore? Or am I better off going to Archeage and similar games?

Leveling isn't hard anymore, but this L2 in no shape or form resembles the L2 you remember, there is a gathering of old school L2er's heading to the game you mentioned, mass will hit critical after beta.
Depends on what you want. If you plan on being hero and top contender for your class i'd say not to bother. If your plan is to have fun and play with legit non scripted people id say yes. Anything lvl 1-85 is pretty simple to level with mentor+mentor buffs. Check your path to awakening right away, you may still be able to claim your free A grade gear at 73.
Stick with your sword singer because your first toon should be your boxed buffer. At 85 you will become an ISS Sword Muse, use this toon to power level yourself a DD for farming and xp purposes. You will do fine with that dual box. If you wanna go all out then when you power level your dd stick a healer with it for 3 box. ISS/Heal/Archer, ISS/Heal/nuker would probably yeild the fastest results.

Its not hard at all to come back, first things first, get a mentor and a clan. Don't expect much grouping until you are 85 +, you can do 1-85 in a day these days, level 85 is the new real starting point.

You need to start from the begining. Forget u ever played before. Main gameplay now begins from lvl 85. Till 85 u can get in 1-2 days and if u lazy than in a week.
If you want to keep your char than you start with lvl 72.

Now is time to introduce you to the PATH TO AWAKENING.
Every time you get to a certain lvl you will be able to claim some bonus items in this website (http://truly-free.lineage2.com/path).
You will be able to claim this bonus at lvl 1, 20, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80 and 85. This means you wont need to buy any kind of equipment till S grade.
So, claim the lvl 1, 20 and 40 bonus and withdraw them from the Dimensional Merchant NPC.
Than u go to guide -> Level 62-75
Here i can only add that every 4 hours every 00.00 server time in the village in Forest of the Dead (Rune teritorry) is a Hellmann EXP Raid. Just go there 15-10 min before and ask for pt.
Well, if you want to play Lineage 2, of course its worth it. There's no game like it. Still the only mmo i'm interested in playing. The only downside is tons awful, brain dead people running around, often ruining the potential enjoyment. But if you come in with low expectations on that front, and maybe meet some nice people to play with, then it's well worth it.

im downloading the client now since i found some of my old pvp videos from back in 2005-2007.. i stopped playing back in C4 due to being deployed..
i'm definitely going to play L2 again. i know its not the same game as before but i hope to at least enjoy the music ( specially in Gludio ) and the atmosphere... those were the good old days ( SP / Puppy Rawr used to control the erica server back then ).. if anyone is playing or coming back, msg... im gonna be a newb when i start in about an hour from now..
Depends, are you comfortable with using 3rd party programs and buy ingame currency/scripts to actually make a difference when it comes to endgame pvp. Then yes, its worth it.
If you dont feel comfortable with it, then no.
Tho you COULD return and just trololol around, wasting your life and be happy with it.
Archeage is way better game and have features to stop botting and the Trion staff hates botters with a flaming passion... while NCSoft doesnt give a flaming *** about botting. So there u go.
I always come back to l2. Not sure why, maybe because it was my first mmo. Tons of memories keep this game alive.

The best thing you can do is to walk away and forget about L2. The NCwest version is a bot infested pay to win game. In the 10 years since the release the game has never before been this badly managed. Everywhere you go to pve or pvp there will be bots and script users. NCwest doesn't even pretend to do anything about it anymore. If you absolutely have to play the game try the L2EU version run by Innova. Supposedly they care enouch about their real customers to actually ban bots on a regular basis.
right i will revive this post so i can bother you with my question...i am an old timer as well and been out of the game since kamaels came out. Back in my days Paladins was the most ridiculous broken champ since C4 necromancers :p the question is...what is the meta now for solo farm and casual pvp?
P.S to lazy to box DD and buffers so i would appreciate 1 class if you will

If I understand what you are asking, you want to know what the FOTM class is correct ?
Also, even back when, for farming purposes, you still had to box a buffer for anything decent, and the old buff pets ( cougars, buffaloes and chickens are a thing of the past, still there but don't bother ) so your still going to want a Iss.
