On Chronos server there are lots of auto parties in GF. They have reds that protect them, big deal you say. Well the big deal is you can not fight the reds as they are on top of the tower at the West gate. You can target them but can't hit them even with ranged skills. They however can send their summons to kill you if you mess with their parties. There are 3 reds, 1 non chaotic toon, and a buffer up on the tower. Doesn't seem fair to not be able to kill bot protectors just because they can be in a spot I cannot get to. Could a GM please chime in on this and let us know if this is acceptable game mechanics.

Try finding a decent Clan, it's the fastest way to solve this. I'm sure they will help you to solve the problem, you encountered. ;)
They are in a spot that you can NOT hit them. I have a clan thank you. I just want to know if it is ok to get a character up there, however they did it, and to be safe from being killed by regular players. Them being red is no big deal, the problem is they are safe from being killed. Killing their summons means nothing to them. They just resummon, rebuff and go on protecting their bots. I have red toons myself and always have to worry about being killed. They don't worry about it because they are in a spot that they can't be killed. It isn't very fair to me.
I have been told that you rent a wyvern with PC points when PC point event is active by buying NCoin. That makes it not possible for me to get to the reds. So anyone that has PC points AND has a fortress AND would like to screw up some bot protectors, they were last seen on top of the West gate tower on the righthand side. And yes I am mad that I can't get to the reds but I will get over it. Just hope you get to see them soon if you need to do a quest at GF. Done.

here's the thing, They aren't exploiting the mobs, just sitting up there watching for players to kill. You can do that, it's not against the rules in that sense as far as I know.
It's like you standing above the siege field in a castle and using an archer to pick off other players. You have an advantage point that's all. You CAN get up there, just not easily. If other players are able to reach that spot in some way than it's perfectly fair.
The botting part is against the rules,but you know how that goes around here.

Actually, oddly enough, using a wyvern to get to an otherwise unreachable spot for PKing and PvP purposes was termed an exploit a few times back in the day. The first time was oddly enough, Justino from original Nova using one to drop into Aden castle to kill everyone inside, the GM's said it was an exploit and bannable from then on after a few more times and complaints.
This was repeated in various different otherwise unreachable area's like the BS cliffs and WoA inside side cliffs and each time was deemed an exploit, so if they still hold true to past form, this would be as well.

I DO in fact now recall that incident. Matter of fact I was at a siege with someone doing this no doubt years ago.
You know how the rule enforcement is around here. And If people SS that and complain enough, maybe something will be done to keep people off that. Hard to say.

Actually, you dont need PC points if you own a fortress.
If you got a fortress, you only need a strider and i believe 50 B crystals.
And be the leader of course.

The 1st example wouldnt work now, since you cant fly over certain areas (siege zones is one example), so if someone did that now, the exploit would be actually managing to fly above it.

I would like to 'investigate', im just guessing but it seems like they did something more than just standing on a hard to reach spot, like maybe pulling RBs to "unreachable" locations etc.
This just doesnt seem that bad to me, i would be very suprised if the GMs actually thought of this scenario as abusing an exploit.

One, it wasn't during a siege that Justino did it in the first place, it was just a random time/times during the week. A castle isn't a "safe" zone, which is why he did it, he knew he would catch a lot of them with their pants down afk thinking they were safe. He may have done it during the "off" siege time as well a few times, been a very long time gone by now so its a bit fuzzy~~
But, yes I am aware castles are "no fly zones" for a long time now, this very exploit is pretty much the reason for this, happened so long ago you can't quote any of it now, but plenty who were around from back then should remember the huge topics on these forums about it, go look in the Bartz section, even it only goes back as far as towards the end of UR's run, which was around 06-07, they flushed a lot of the old stuff down the toilet a long time ago.
As for the WoA cliff's and BS cliff's, also so long ago now it can't be quoted any longer, trust me, it happened, I played around with it myself until it was declared an exploit and bannable. Once they did I never played with the concept again, wasn't worth it, I found some "hard" to get to spots instead to lay traps, as in if you wanted to go mountain climbing, you could reach me, but since your whole way up I would be turning you into a pin cushion or nuking you, the odd's were the OP or party/s wouldn't make it up to begin with anyways. And I don't mean easy spots you just walk up, I mean the spots with pathing issues you have to work at to climb to, hence I said mountain climbing, that was perfectly legal.
Before anyone gets a hair across their arses, I didn't lay traps to protect bots, this was for PvP, myself or a group with me would get up there and a couple of clannies would act as bait and run to us with enemies in pursuit. Got called a cheater a bunch of times because a lot of them couldn't figure out how we could target and frag them from the places we used without falling off, being pulled down, those idiots never figured out what a shift button does I guess~~
