Hello everyone, I haven't played this game for well over a year and I know ALOT has changed so I'm just looking for some tips please. I know I will probably get the same old same old "search the forums" which I have and haven't found anything solid yet. Anyways, I want to play a wynn with the cats (I forget the name) and I am almost there.
What is the best setup for armor, weapon, dyes?
I have my TW light gear from my old dagger and some jewels, frint necklace and AQ that's it. How long should I keep the TW and what weapon is best from lvl to lvl. I have been told to use bow then I have been told not to use bow.
I would like to do really well in PVE right now and then eventually be at least useful in PVP.
What is the one thing I should really save up for and work towards, end game wise?

Thanks so much.
Keep the TW till 95lvl. Using a bow is good for dragging mobs towards your summon, he's the dd. But you have magic skills and they have a longer range so if you want to train mobs a bow or a sword does not matter, though using a bow is cheaper. ;) Save up for dyes and focus on finding a good clan, they will guide you. ;)
those bots are probably worth more than you, but i'm sure you weren't talking about monetary value.
the game is hard to come back to if you want to compete.
but if you're down for fun casual play, it's no problem.
also new race/class coming which could be fun for a while.

I don't know what you mean..."those bots are probably worth more than you, but i'm sure you weren't talking about monetary value."
I'm being told by players in game to get a 2 handed Magic blunt type weapon with acumen and empower. I didn't know such a thing was possible but I will look.
Why not 1 handed weapon and a shield?

Well, since there is nothing in passive skills info regarding bow's then what does
Passive skills have to do with sword and shield?
Before that passive, the bow's base damage was the best for boosting the p. atk of your summoners via ultimate servitor sharing. Now with that massive 105% boost passive, a two handed blunt will boost your attack to insane heights (OE'd top S80 two handed melee blunt/Tauti's 2h Blunt) for your summons or give you the extra umph in your marks and spells without compromising your summon's p. atk.
Sword and shield just gimp your ability for DPS. You're not supposed to be surviving, you're supposed to be killing your target dead before he moves to attack you.

This all goes back to people wanting to tweak their toons for better advantage. Your passives will always be the guiding principle, but outside of the box thinkers will usually go against the grain if there is a perceived advantage.
This leads us to the bow vs. two handed mage staff debate.
I'm not going to get into the entire Sturm und Drang of it, but there are some that feel a summoner with a thrower (bow) is as effective as a summoner with a retributor (staff), even though a summoner does not have a passive boost or bow skills.
This is as far as we'll go here. The OP can search any number of threads for the full knockdown, drag out debate between the bowmeisters vs. the staff-lords. (Since Awakened Wynns have a wide variety of weapons that they can use, sure, insert your weapon of choice into this debate as you please.)
I will leave the OP with the simple advice that it's your dime and your time, and there are just as many people that made it to 99 following the path of their passives as there are that went against the grain. At the end of the day a dead mob is a dead mob. Find the method in your own madness in getting it to that point.
