Now that the Ertheia expansion is live we wanted to make sure to go over the Path to Awakening changes. We're streamlining the Path to Awakening, no longer will you have to log into the Path to Awakening site to claim your rewards. Starting today, new characters will receive the Fated Support Box upon creation. This item can be used when you reach level 40, and will contain level appropriate items for you at certain level intervals.
Inside is the Fated Support Box for your class. These are what will contain the items for your level. You just need to reach the appropriate level (as noted on the item) and double click the Box.
For Example: At level 40, once you complete your class change (if you have one), you will be able to open the Fated Support Box for C-Grade. Once clicked, the Box will turn red and update to your next milestone, B-Grade.
Below are the levels you will need to reach to be able to access each grade of gear from the Box. Remember that you will also need to complete the class change quest before the Fated Support Box will open, unless you are Ertheia, which will just need to reach the appropriate level.
And what about characters who were part way through path of awakening before this update?
Whatever you claimed already remains on the Dimensional Merchant, while unclaimed stuff (and for claiming I mean you have to press the "Claim" button on the website) is forever lost.
What about the ALREADY created character that have NOT yet passed trought the old Path Of Awakening checkpoints (example, i have a clannies of mine that is at level 50)?
1) Do they will lose all that is past their actually level?
2) Do they will get the new box instead?
3) Whenever the previous answer are YES (first) and NO (second), i really HOPE you have in mind a way to help those people, since they are screwed. And the fault is yours for not thinking to that situation.
From what i can see in game. The rewards for players that don't have the box is to buy the gear from the NC shop. Each package costs 1 NCoin... :mad::mad:

You won't, your toon had to be created after Ertheia launched, your toon was already made and level 8 before the update. Not a big deal, just start over.

i was mad when you changed over to Bound... when i liked Common so much more. although i guess with the whole need to element your equipment, Common R grade and above is just pointless.
I don't remember common gear having set bonuses though, and you couldn't plus them up either.
They didn't, NC introduced common items back with this chronicle, when you open Queen Navari's boxes after doing certain quests you get common items that you can resell to NPCs later.
Obviously they don't have set bonuses. And Sage's Rag made me appear like an Ertheia banana.

1. I have no way to purchase NCoins. As much as I'd like to spend $5, they just don't offer any sutable way to pay for it.
2. Common items are just crap. Plain and simple. Good I have a full backup, but I've played this game for... well, check the reg. date, make a guess.
What about new players, who just joined this game a week ago?
Why not just create new characters at level 70 already?... It's all a waste of time anyway.
ncsoft being rough cost as always notify one months before changing the chronicles that would be disabled? Vali in which the difficulty of doing this? since you are the ones responsible for communication forum and facebook, lousy work thanks for nothing.
common d grade, i think the rest is 60 day "steel" equipment which is basically common with a time limit. i think the common d gear is so if you disappear for 60 days you at least have something to fall back on until you get the next equipment release.
this new system is crap... before weapons and armor sets had SA's and set bonus with +4 on weapon. now its only common items without anything special. i dont know why ncsoft did this but it is annoying to lvl a mage like an ertheia without an Acumen SA or focus for melee classes.

for erthiea you should be first class change and second class change for everyone else.
As a new player with three characters made when they announced the update, that are now 40 something to 50 something, I would rather quit Lineage 2 than start over again for path of awakening. I don't have that kind of time to waste... pretty ridiculous for them to talk you into playing with all this talk of Ertheia and path of awakening, and then exclude people for starting a day or two before the update comes out.... that's what it feels like to me as a newbie anyways, like an exclusion. But whatever, it's their loss if playing something else is what I feel I need to do. I will see how the Steel Door Equips work out for me before I decide to quit all together...
Saying "no longer will you have to log into the Path to Awakening site to claim your rewards" is very misleading. They should say, no longer will you have Path of Awakening unless you make a new toon and start over.
TBH they took away any feeling of accomplishment one gets leveling before the 50's...it felt like a super long tutorial, and I don't want to put myself through that yet again...
I just created my characters in Magmeld 2 days before the change, only claimed C grade stuff and lost the rest, I've been using Steel equipment so far, not as good as the ones Awakening system used to provide, but good enough to hunt.

Why is "S2" grade usable for 80 or higher levels claimable from level 81?
Why we can claim items max at level 84? When we reach level 80->85 by one raid boss (believe me, is possible) item in our inventory remains and we cant delete/destroy that fated box because its <=84 usable. You should fix/change it like 80-99 instead of 81-84. All limit by 99 rather than 84.

And yes I walk away from L2 because of bots and no free time.
Now that I just don't care about bot's as I know they already kill this game, and that I have some time to continue my jorney all I find is that I have to remake mostly everything.
And no1 crys, just I did not know this was announced before the patch as some1 pointed before on this thread. Anyway, as I said another reason to don't come back.
In all honesty it's not that bad starting from scratch...there's still some enjoyment to be had. And if you play smart, you won't need to invest much $$ unless you want to. GL either way
