Fixed an issue where the cooldown timer for Runes crafted using Alchemy did not function correctly.
Fixed an issue where damage text did not display properly.
All website login, account management functions, and NCoin purchase functions will be unavailable during this time as well. Estimated downtime for the website is approximately 3 hours.

It looks like a progressive adena phase-out to me.

hah friend only boz core? full of bots in all strongholds in boz core, but you'll be 95 soon and see that guillotine full of bots you can't eavean make quest, but those are few areas where are bots, i dont remind about harnak/bloody swamp/ land of chaos and so on. Maybe someday we will have a clean comunity where we can have fun and see no bots, in Korea l2 have such an impressive gameguard, if you log with bot you take ban before to appear in game, waiting that system here also.

That removing bots is like a cancer is never cured and also more players to complain and cry will always be that of the 2 years I have playing there long to over 80% bots and 20% players and server are dying for these Bots.:confused:
Worst l2 server ever, no 1 spot in boz core and guillotine for make dailys, 99% players farming are bots, really stupid situation, why the gm not enter to game & ban this bots? in 1 min u can see they are bots... +95 players in immortal without use soulshots?

Yes less drops = more bots, ncfail dont care about this situation, they only want money, owner of this bots are players who spend lots of $$$ buying ncoin, seems just a business for bots/ncwest, sadly without this cheaters l2 cant survive.
Pk system seems bot protection too, u kill 5 bots can drop some item if die & need farm 7 years for clean karma, free2play = garbage.

Everyone created an ertheia char, botting to lvl it up fast, plus the already existed bots, plus that quest drop item rate decreased = you go for example at woa trying to get the first 50 quest items you need and you stay at least 1h to collect them plus the bots that make your life a hell and hit your mobs, so you need 2h for 50 items, so you end up botting too.
Also, you reach 70 lvl and mob drops 50-70 adena, so I guess you end up 85 lvl and have 5m in inventory? I think this move was to reduce adena/prices in server, but if you have 99 lvl players with billions and you lvl up and have 5m while soulshots costs thousand, at the end you are broke and start "illegal" donate so you can buy simple stuff like ss.
Conclusion: last ertheia update was welcomed, but failed in legit players who fight against bots/mobs/quest drop rate and in adena drop rate cause 99lvl with billions still have money to buy anything while new players turn to donate.
P.S. Item drop rate from kartia etc. increased but new players that get these drops and finally sell them in low prices also turned to be broke. So no excuse/answer for all above. Ty

well i agree in most of these u said and even if u dont want to buy nc coins/bot/buy adena from adena sellers and even if u try to make some items+++ they end up in your inventory coz market is dead or u can sell it to others for less than half price plus u need more than 1.30h to make dailys

Actually it is easier than previous chronicles but it's harder to make dailies and earn adena than "before ertheia update". But if you want my opinion, I loved previous chronicles until Hellbound, cause after Hellbound, Hell arrived!:eek:

I havent noticed an increase in bots, atleast in Magmeld.. infact it was easy for me to find a nice spot for my dailies in any zone, im now 83 and no problem at all finding an empty spot.
The only problem is the decreased drop rate for quest items, after grinding 1h with my brother in DV, we got about ~30 quest items each, out of 50 (all the way to 950!).
Ok, may not mean much to you, but if i put it like this..
During that 1h grind, we both earned ~360kk exp from the monsters, the quest reward itself was only 14kk exp!
You forgot the "Ceremony", that you can never enter cause some ppl have "auto - entrance"...
And actually I want to ask if "Bot Button" at actions work and how it effects the player you mention as bot

The darkest of Drag0ns was never a zero, regardless if he bots for xp (like the vast majority of the rest of the server). That guy was always a strong player, especially in Oly, but he didn't have the gear or clan to compete against some of the Nova daggers. Def never made him a zero though.

I didn't phrase what I wanted to say correctly but I mean everyone you see are not bots. There are many of them but there actually are legit people that are leveling the new class manually.

Make from the exp, AP, and hey this guy was a 3shot for me every siege, especially 1vs1. So yea he need the fast progress to kill the competition again like he did for years if you ask me.
I remember Enmity running clanbotting with people like ANTHON, Xbelial and many more, think Drag0n avoided the ban the others did get, with a miracle. Same as it is a miracle hes still alive on Chronos after all the botting, cheating in pvp and locking CoC.
Same as Nova from all we hear on Chronos Hero Shouts you must use ranger in PvP. Nova isnt good, its just a bunch of cheaters that fail when they play manual. Seems farming L2 does loan well when the Chinese Adena sellers get stocked by Nova members. (true story)
haw about iff im telling you that on naia server in last olimpiad i made video with ertheya warior lvl 99 full abilities?:) set+8 or more?:) char's name Pitika , clan enigma. I asck ncsoft to verifi that char, cas isent posible in 2 wecks after update, somthing like that exist. Only 1 posibility edit char.

You joking? :)))))))))))) So many bots there is during the game just gm need to log in into the server... NCFAIL and its really shame... 3-4 years ago l2 had quit big community and now only ~15k left and NCSOFT still losing players ...Even some private servers GM sometimes better than her... Like now just started 7 days ago and i should ask friends to buy for me shots... 1 mob drops max 350 :) I am lvl 70 and sometimes drop is only 50... ^^ I need 4 shots to kill 1 mob and one bspsa cost 370. 4 bspsa = 1480 and mob drop atleast 3-4 times less :)))))) Nice balanced ekonomy... Can ncsoft start to listen players what they want...? Because now it looks like nc want only money... Really shame that ncsoft now are in this poor level...Money is money but it should be players whose can give money...With this policy : No players because they leaving thats mean no money :))))))

Happens after instance exits sometimes. Zero points gets moved to the camera position and zoom distance basically doubles. Changing zoom mode fixes it.

Something like that yes.
"We're currently experiencing a DDOS attack against our servers causing frequent connection issues" etc.
The only place you see anything from them is the l2 twitter and facebook pages, which make it sound like it was a one time issue.
And most people won't even check there.
But no matter where, there's nothing to say that you should probably be careful of what you're doing in game until they are fairly sure it won't happen again.
thous uslles people hapend to be persons, real person's that you've just insulted and you insult all day long by using crapy 3rd software. Have a nice day . By alowing bots you let a gate open. By leting a gate opend, you ruin funn, and real clients.Same thing when you let the door open for bots, is just happening they crash server all day long, in 2 days iff they continue like this nobody will play on oficial game.

Because DDoS aren't real world solveable, it's not like they can nullroute 10-20-30-50000 IPs in minutes, or run down to wallmart and buy a few extra catalysts to beef up their switching

There are services they can procure that can basically do exactly that. And not that it's going to 100% solve it, but it will mediate it quite a bit. WoW was attacked for instance, and they were down ~4 minutes or so, as opposed to NCsofts repeated loooong downtimes.
And assuming they are using some sort of old school attack, NCsoft could be using newer code/hardware that would mitigate, or even make it a non issue altogether.
At the very least they could block the entirety of the ranges the attack is coming from, resulting in some players losing access till resolved, but most being OK. And failing that. The suggestion above to just disable the log in servers while they work on it and notify players of what is going on.
Their posts have sounded like they are having minor performance issues they will get around fine, but on the official forums and in game there's not even a single mention. People have bought runes and tried to XP only to lose their time, money, and XP to servers that have been repeatedly unavailable to almost everyone.

Which is precisely why they are so vague in their announcements, if people think the service is vulnerable and they risk wasting their money guess what people do?
Beyond that, NCSoft is a dwarf compared to Blizzard. Even the simple fact all their services (web, aion, l2, gw2) had one common point of failure should clue you in to that.

Remember NCsoft is here first to make money. I don't agree with the current attacks but one does at least have to admit the bot issues are better. At least for the first 5 mins u can get into a quest area and get something done.
Sadly, soon back to servers loaded up with bots and scripts. Nothing new here to see, move along folks.
The new patch did nothing for the game. Every day I see more and more folks bailing from NCsoft products. Game is dead, no one cares and that's all she wrote folks! PVP boring since most of it is scripted and NCsoft doesn't care. Leveling is boring.
Only thing that keeps ppl around is the friendships, which is why u are seeing a lot of groups (not individuals) leaving game.

It would not make it unplayable for everyone. Unpleasant? Sure. But it would be playable for many for the duration of the attack. That's kind of the point of such services.
It obviously wouldn't come up in a moment, they would need to take time (and money) to do so. But as it stands now they seem more concerned with keeping quiet, hoping it will sweep under the rug, and wait it out while doing nothing.
I don't expect a refund for the 2 runes I lost before I had to go out on my own to see read through threads and other unrelated sites to see that this was a deliberate DDOS that is still ongoing. But they could compensate the issues with in game settings like the dragon buff, xp/sp (and even nicer drop/spoil) increases, etc.

ddos attacks have nothing to do with server stability
I really hope that they have something to do with the amount of bots on the server. One DDOS attack, all bots go offline (well, players too, but that's good, you can go out, get some fresh air, meet people :) )
The lack of community care here is really frustrating. :(
Please at least make a statement after something happens (or during, that would be nice too). :o

what i hate the most of this is that because this attacks i lost 2 days of 100% rune (yea, and was runing out). This make me think twice if is worth to buy runes that run out when you cant play.
They need to think a way to stop this attacks (there are several posibilitys) and how they will be able to compensate the clients who were using runes that have been lost because of the bad reply from ncsoft to the attacks, and the slow reply to the community
