As everyone who knows how to simply browse the internet, NCsoft-na has been continuously suffering from DDoS attacks since last night, however all we've got from administration is a very uninformative twitter about the current situation and how they plan on dealing with it.
Won't put the full blame on ncsoft for this situation, but considering these are the "Official servers" for a game who is also hosted by private servers, is completely unnaceptable that the official ones gives so little information about their current REAL issues and how they plan on dealing with them. Also, how is it possible that these servers don't seem to have a DDoS protection, or atleast not a properly functioning one, customers here are paying for the company lack of investment in BASIC server hosting security.

Their twitter feed spells out a lot of what they are doing, they are bragging and that's enough proof to get them in some trouble. It's just some ******** kids who thought they were funny.
The online games they were tweeting about that they attacked are big businesses and they won't be tolerating loss of revenue due to cyber attacks. Should be interesting to see what happens

Nothing happens, that's what's next.There's virtually no way to stop a serious DDoS attack, you can only chain-out via the edge routers, which is to say the least ..... not that effective if you get more than 100k client connections per minute.
Also it's nearly impossible to say who's behind the attack too, coz its all controlled mostly via IRC where the botnets reside usually.
The modern history has good example of more serious businesses closing down their sites/services due to intensive DDoS.

that may be so but they arent just attacking chat rooms random sites and mmos now. one of their more recent targets is owned by Disney. Disney isnt gonna just let it's stuff shut down

they were targetting gw2, taking down all of NCWest's games was a bonus given by NCWest's netadmin's epic backbone design. If you trace all their login servers, for all games, I am sure they are (were) all sitting in one rack hooked up to the same ol switch, you flood one, you take them all down.

The Lizards were pretending to be something they were not, or at least pretending to take action for the sake of ideals which they did not possess, it was juvenile antics, nothing more, nothing less. Somehow I knew about this long before it was even posted, my Jedi powers are strong.

What I said would happen has, and the attacks have decreased. They won't totally stop until legal action is taken, thats something not possible for a loose social organization to do. The next step is in civil authorities courts.

If you look at the Norse chart, US origin attacks have gone down to almost nadda, I think its pretty much over. On the PS network, it may not even have been them, they may have just been taking credit. Either way, by doing so they added another nail to their coffin.

Yep, and who they are was put up days ago on twitter, just taken down since by mods. Authorities have the info, what they do with it is up to them. You want the main culprits actual IP ? I haz that. :D
maybe that information would best be delivered to someone with the power make a change in that group's collective activities.
I'm pretty sure they are smart enough to get the information that was posted on twitter and taken down. Also I would think they are good enough to get it themselves if not.
