There will be no action against bots even when it was pay to play there was bots not as bad as they kept to them self. But now it's free reign they can not band anyone from boting technically they could if they wanted, but what's the point when it'll keep happening again and again because it's free to play. Lineage 2 glory days are gone now and the bot problem will be gone when the doors close.

yeah but you have to admit it's a catch 22 situation. Omega if you remember him did a bot extermination pre-final margers, the population never really grew till F2P ... It just kept decreasing, even if for a while the then 2 servers where as near to bot free as you can get them.

No back room deals needed. Look at their earning reports after f2p. People are handing them money way more than the p2p model did.
Bots are all about money. Lets just say each bot account earns roughly 1B adena a month average with nothing running (I have no idea what they actually earn, just throwing a number out there).
Now lets say you add in a prestige pack and/or a few drop/spoil runes and it brings that average up to 1.5-2.5B a month. They have nearly doubled their average income just by placing a rune on a few toons... they don't even need it on all of them.
Multiply that by hundreds/thousands of accounts on all the servers and it makes financial sense for them to spend a little to earn a lot more.
For the bot to level crowd it's the same. Pay a bit for runes/vit items and you can cut your leveling time in half or even faster.
Power gamers, even more. Chances at hard to get items and the like.
NC's guilty of creating and fostering an environment for all of this to be highly lucrative, and turning a blind eye to it to the detriment of the entire game.
As for the Omega/spam/etc bans and server pop. It's not a catch 22 at all. They NEVER advertise this game. It wasn't till f2p that they made any sort of fuss about l2 existing at all.
They can ban bots and still have a population that is decent, but only if they work at it. They can't just sit back and expect to do nothing and continue to rake in cash.
After my SWS account got wrongly banned I started googling to find out why I was banned and ended up nosying on some bot foums. (Thankfully my SWS was recovered, I'd just put in the wrong password too many times and it'd been banned as a possibly hacked account).
I can tell you now NC ARE actively banning bots on a weekly basis, but the botters are finding ways to avoid the detection methods.
it just the sad reality of lineage 2 you band 100 a 100 more are created its just a never ending cycle. tho a lot of people enjoyed everything up to id say gracia content then they decided to start releasing crap.i have to blame both NC and the people that use 3rd party programs. now back in the glory days hard work paid off grind and lvl basic model of lineage 2 and for a lot of people they enjoyed it and a lot didn't i just wish in my personal opinion they added a true quest system main reason people bot is because they want the high lvls they want to do the castle sieges, epic raids look bad *** etc etc but most people left due to not really achieving anything. back in c1 c2 it ll take you forever to get 2 lvl 20 now its 85-99 that will take you some time. but i always believed that if the lineage 2 team added true questing and people were gaining level getting gear basically the sense of achievement bots wouldn't be so bad and people would return new and old by the thousands. sad to see lineage go down like this.
It's not so much the banning that needs to happen, it's the entire game that promotes the adena buying/selling. They pushed this game so dependent on the shop that it's made it a botters paradise. They cater to the players who need game funds and NC has made a fertile breeding ground for that activity.
Ban them all you want,but they come back 10 fold doing the same things as before. Nerf the adena drops all you want, they will run many bot trains constantly to make up for it.
ruined game for whatever you want to blame. blame the bots...I blame the producer and his staff. its just like the VA scandal, they need the bots to fudge the monthly reports for their bonuses/jobs. the game needs the bots cause most of the legit players dont spend enough money and/or they just greedy. whatever the reason, its a fail for the end user due to unfairness.

Bots don't buy NC store items, real people do and as long as there are bots sane people won't pay for this game.
Another scenario would be NC-ran bot users actually paying for NC store items so there is an influx of money via the NC store so that Korea is satisfied, which sounds utterly ridiculous but what can we expect with a management like this.

Eg. yesterday I went to do my quest in the Shrine of Loyalty. I noticed a char which I won't name appearing next to me that has started to farm.
Today I went there again to do the daily and have found the same char still farming there. It was there even yesterday after I did my dailies and went with a friend who did theirs and I bet it's still there now and if nobody does anything about it even tomorrow, the day after tomorrow.
From the behaviour it was obvious it's a bot + who on earth would farm the same spot 24/7 without a break.
This is just one of many examples - same bots camping/farming the same spots continuously.
makes me wonder, how in such beautiful and law-enforcing country as murica no one yet sued ncsoft for not taking actions aganist bots. i guess few mln $$ less and judgement of the court would force our korean friends to change their policy toward botties.

according to it, a player does not have any rights while NCsoft does not have any duties and responsibilities. Literally.
So, you cannot sue them for breaking the EULA because according to the EULA they are not responsible for anything at all.
As Aconyte has pointed out on the previous page, the End-User License Agreement has over the years been made waterproof - it doesn't provide any grounds for legal action against NCsoft.
What you could theoretically sue NCsoft for is Aiding and Abetting Income Tax Evasion by providing the servers on which the Real Money Traders are making their money, roughly similar to those Swiss banks. But since only a minority of the Real Money Traders and script sellers are American nationals and they mostly make just a few thousand dollars per month anyway, you won't be able to get the Orange County District Attorney (http://orangecountyda.com/home/index.asp) interested in launching a probe into NC Interactive's activities. But on his website there is a button for "Report a Crime", so feel free to have a try :)

There were far more when GoD first came out. And there would be some who would continue to play if the GM's took action.
But the point is, new players are going to be VERY rare in the current environment, and won't last long.
Whereas the bots will thrive, but the players that feed them will start getting more spread out. Eventually the "food" is gone, and so too will be the bots. Leaving NC with a big fat load of empty servers and no income from L2... and not much hope of attracting people back to them.

In other words, NCWest is selling (via the Prestige Packs) a product (the Garden of Genesis) and then knowingly and with intent prevents the purchaser of the product (you) from using said product. By refusing to run Lee Eun-jo's algorithm on their server data, NCWest is, not by negligence but with full intent, engaging in fraud :D
The guilt of success of the Bot is not just of NCsoft and also of who buys the adena, buy the chars to play ready and high, purchase items from this people that uses, you want to know who are the biggest users of Bot, look the dominant clans, as can have powerful items dominant clans? Have you ever wondered how these same clans can in less than 1 month put Main, all lvl 99 Dual and with all points of skill points?
My people when it launched Erthéia in less than two weeks had already Erthéia full class 99 in both the main class as on dual class and is not achieved only with Rune's Power lvl of the forts with Bot on 12:0 am and Ncsoft does nothing. But if players stop buying adena for real money, chars, items, it will end too, the people need to do their part and not just complain.
But the biggest problem is that users don't actually play the game, they do not use Bot just to be able to evolve fast, sell adena, these things, but use Bot to do PVP, turn hero easy at the Olympic, COC, i.e. None of them want to lose, invested a lot to stay playing honestly.
Honestly, I think the NCsoft should watch all the fights of the Olympics and coc, siege, because this bone and dismal play, because the guys play using ******** and then take wave, as if it were they who defeated, are so out of the ordinary that the program did everything they can't do playing with the hands, and take the glory of the program, then you're in the chat boasting a defeat that neither were they, that Bot user uses to fight pvp, Olympics, mass pvp, coc and siege are players more fearful and losers that has, as afraid of losing, because playing in hand, will make mistakes, this is the difference, the bot doesn't make mistake.

i know what the case is all about, the link is just the 49 page judge agreement to move case forward. he was addicted to game, but his ip was banned so couldnt play anymore...along with bunch of other arguements about ncsoft not enforcing fair gameplay and their own eula, etc...
once the judge allowed the case to go forward they reached a settlement and the case was dismissed with prejudice.

I feel sorry for all those who call themselves pro players but have sunk so low because something as simple as pressing buttons seems difficult beyond imagination and they need to have the computer do it for them. They all should enter one clan called TheDisabled.
