you are one of two things.
either you are a sword singer, or blade dancer...
or you have not clicked to obtain your new skills.
blade dancers and sword singers have sonatas, but they are called song and dances. they take the same buff slots cost the same, and have basically the same effect.
if you have just not taken new skills...
you do that from the skill tab to the right of passive and active skills.
sonatas are based on song/dance which were shorter buffs.
while normal combo buffs are 30 minute long, the song/dance combos are only 5 minutes long. this sort of gives enchanters something to do instead of just debuffing, support healing and having cute fairies floating around as they buff.

Once you start playing with other ppl it will make more sense.
Let me give you this scenario:
1. You join a random party.
2. You buff them all the buffs, and lets just imagine you gave them 30 minutes sonatas also.
3. They kick you. You get no exp.
4. You pm leader "why kick me". He answers "we got buffs for 30 minutes, thanks".
5. You stay lvl 85.
Sonatas are 5 minutes so you are worth having around. Ppl can still kill mobs decently without your debuffs, but most ppl like having sonatas.
