SweetFX allows for special shaders to be injected into a D3D app so you can tweak up the visual quality of the application. Many games both stand alone and MMO use SweetFX to improve graphics quality significantly.

The problem is SweetFX is not an approved application to interact with Lineage II so game guard blocks it shortly after loading L2.
This tool really does help breathe new life into the graphics engine of this game. Given that game guard localization is something NCWest can customize (eg chrome fixes you just recently did), please add this tool so we can make L2 look nicer!
PS - ArenaNet doesnt prohibit SweetFX in Guild Wars 2, please allow this in L2!
You guys must be pretty mad if you are going to try and derail a thread about improving the graphics quality of the game via a widely used enhancement program (used by other NCSoft games).
Tbh my husband have that amazing quality of screen like this and in game without using anything except just a HD option in Samsung Monitor plugged through HDMI cable :p

Also. Lot's of people used a program that did the same thing as this one when I played Battlefield 3. But only after they were given the go ahead by Dice. It does make a considerable difference when you are playing.
so please explain how u didn't use a 3rd party program to show us the different shade effects? and since u did and u know its illegal to use atm, you are just spitting in NCstaff face daring them to do something to you too.... and proving to NC soft once a cheat always a cheat, trying to figure out the newest way to get over on everyone. they allow this program to be used something tells me u have a program very similarly coded that nc soft wont be able to detect if they accept this graphic "program". if u have a problem with graphics, sell some of the adena u bot to farm, or sell a piece of gear and buy a new graphic card. don't ask nc soft to allow some new program that u have already defeated in hopes of a new way to cheat...

While the comparison shot on the left looks purposefully worse to show off the difference, this has nothing to do with the video card used.
It's basically artificially adding options to how the game is displayed to you, like the HDRI mode, etc you have in L2, this forces other ones that can add a lot of nice effects to games it works on.
It's not much different (in theory, not technically) to the options many videocards have to force settings even on games that don't support it (like better antialiasing).
But IMO, they just need to take GG out back and shoot it. Who cares about allowing things through it? It won't catch anyone doing anything unless they are phenomenally stupid or just don't care at all.

It is absolutely delicious that you guys are so mad as to not even be able to read simple sentences. All you want to see is "diego" is using a "program" == "banNAOTHX, not realizing how ridiculous your senseless rage makes you look. if it makes a difference then it should be implemented in such way that all players are able to get the same advantage obviously.
doubt it will happen though as Korean Devs allowing any kind of interaction with their encrypted files is to easy to be exploited and they know it.
ArenaNet / Guild Wars 2 is not the same as Korean Designed L2
Well if not for game guard, all players could use it. This tool allows players with modern video cards to use more of those video card resources enhancing image quality.
If your video card is old then this wont do much for you but most people have decent video cards and can take advantage of FSAA/multisampling etc.

Sky-net as I saw in an another forum can be used as "trace" package detector but must to be used with another 3rd tool program..can say you can use it as wall-**** or see things that other doesn't ..but mby those are just rumors..
Anyway I want to ask Diego..If you enhance or make the textures brighter and the effects which you can also try via Options, shouldn't that ruin your CPU by make the game heavier with more lag from glows/effects plus movements and textures from skills etc!?

Its too obvious to call zr as skynet/ranger/chuck Norris/power ranger and etc ..I heard someone was calling it "ice cream" :D ..
Anyway L2 is made on UE before 9-10 years and was stable & good at those ages with not so many "colors"..Now days the game changed 85%.
New armors etc / glows / effects/ towns ..but same platform..
I logged once from my work.Pc with 32Gb ram i7 CPU/4 SSDs and each was running separate things for the computer so you can work without problems and issues..graphic card 780 gtx ...
I ported first to Aden and check the lag..exactly same ***** with my wooden PC at home..the game is build like that and doesn't matter if you try to change smthig..I don't believe Korean Client developers can't find and make a better program than SweetFX ..Check blade&souls graphs..awesome..!!

Even if some people know how to emulate Gameguard and wouldn't be bothered by such a limitation, I don't see anything wrong with Diego's request. He is basically asking for an improvement that anyone could get, legally.
It sounds interesting tho, I am going to try it in Dev mode without gameguard and see how much difference it makes, for curiosity sake :)

Try the "vibrant" preset from archage with Lineage 2, it was quite good:

Pretty sure it wont block the program til you actually physically try to login.. I mean he tried to explain that a few times...

The whole graphic engine is old and not optimized, this game eats a lot of resources. Even on new PC machines if u load 3 windows with normal graphic options u can get lags. Point in adding more graphic features like SweetFX? I mean if we speak so, they need to update whole graphic engine at least from Unreal Engine 2.5 to Unreal Engine 3 or even better to CryEngine which they used in Aion.
I don't like Diego_Vargas as much as the next guy but he didn't do anything wrong here. Sure he may have modified the client but he never really broke any rules. He showed the log in page. Last time I checked you need to log in and accept the terms and conditions after logging in with your username and password which he did not do. So what I see is he didn't violate anything.
Nah, thats just a straight up miss. Little to no head movement on the other guy and there was no contact with the gloves. On the other hand, he has amazing follow through and commitment to his punches.

I logged only to support Diego in this.. The forum trolls seems to raise as the time passes.What that programm does you can't do t by changing your screen colors..Learn some basic things before you post out of your b*tt.. I don't know him and i have no reason to support him but what e requests is amazing becouse i also have beasty pc and would like to see more from l2 after 10 years.. who doesnt? And people they said he broke the rules just by using login to show the difference, there are plenty mental institutions for you ;)
Wow. Haven't seen this thread before and its hard to believe Diego actually made a thread with some sense in it. Well, i support this idea. It would bring new wind into this game which is already graphic wise old as decade :eek:
There's no reason SweetFX shouldn't be allowed. It's purely cosmetic. It'll make your game look much more vibrant and alive. After staring at these old graphics for several years, it would be a refreshing change.
I hope NCWest pays attention to this thread and permits SweetFX.
