7 days left until G-Star 2014, the biggest Korean gaming event and NCSoft has announced its lune up for the show, follow the teaser:

Besides more news regarding its already released franchises, they'll also have Lineage Eternal and 'Project HON' playable during the show.

Project Hon seems to be a sci-fi based game, maybe an online FPS-TPS.

I really hope Lineage Eternal delivers.

Because having a Diablo 3 clone is going to be such a win. Again, NCSoft and their lack of imagination has to copy off of their competitors.

1 - It's not a Diablo clone, it's a Lineage 1 sequel;

2 - Nobody knows how the game currently is, 3 years have passed since the last gameplay video, and there is a possibility that they changed the gameplay concept-mechanics, only on G-Star we will know.
yeah, it seemed to have been changing greatly as the time passed... i was excited for the game which required you to draw lines along combat fields to command troops and perform actions. it seemed kind of intense and interesting. although there is no guarantee it would be as widely played, so maybe they changed it a lot following the problems with lineage 3.

DIABLO 3 CLONE!

Listen, pumpkin, NCSoft has been struggling to break the Gabe Newell trend for YEARS. They can't count past 3 much less handle bots and customer service.

DIABLO 3 CLONE!

To think that NCSoft would scrub and rebuild the title from the ground up, even after years of development out of public viewing is just reaching. I mean, sure, that whole "oh noes, our own employees stole our code and made a video game out of it" probably has them all hush hush superspy secret about it but still. No press or buzz about how they are going about creating the sequel to their longest surviving franchise is risk taking at best. My money is on going where the gamer trend is going and putting it on a tablet and using the game features that is popular today: Lineage Fruit Candy Crush Ninja Warrior Mining Pixel Craft.

Lineage 1 is more successful than all other NC games, Lineage 2 is the game that has the smallest playerbase and is currently strugling.

Last year Lineage 1 had a revenue of 287 billion Korean Won, a growth of 40% compared to its revenue of 2012 (205 bi KRW). On the other hand L2 went from 65 billion KRW in 2012 to 57 bi KRW in 2013.

From January to September this year, Lineage 1 made 178 million dollars, and still is in the TOP 10 online games by revenue in the period:

Lineage Eternal can either be a success or failure. Only the future will tell us. It all depends on how this game is being developed.

Interesting how you came to that conclusion on a subject that really doesn't pertain to you. However, If you insist on chiming in, it would be more advantageous and witty if you use something more substantial than "You're so ******* stupid, I don't even know what to say". I even corrected the grammar on your broken insult. You're welcome, pinhead.

Number 2 is nice, but in your case number 3 is suitable.

I had forgotten to mention that both Blizzard and NCSoft developed a proprietary engine for their respective titles, Diablo 3 and Lineage Eternal aka Lineage 3. Coincidence?

You are correct, Lineage 1 is doing fine because of loyal fanbase. It is because of this fanbase, Lineage Eternal will do well but probably not on the scale as Lineage 1. The players who will flock to Lineage Eternal are the ones who are or were playing Lineage 1. When you have serious players, and Lineage 1 players are pretty serious, migrate over to Lineage Eternal, Lineage 1 will suffer in sales. But, wait, there is more. Lineage Eternal, which has a different game engine than Lineage 2, won't survive long outside Korea because it's too similar to Diablo 3, which is not Blizzard's strongest franchise. So, when Lineage Eternal comes out, it will cut into Lineage 1's earnings which will make that light blue box representing total earnings for that quarter smaller on the next quarter when Lineage Eternal is reported. That is, of course, Lineage Eternal actually gets released.
wow, it certainly does look a lot like diablo 3.

Except in Diablo you can only have 4 players in a world, here you can see some scenes in a town with several players together.
Back in 2011 they said there will be a open world but also instances for players to experience the storyline without being interfered by other players. But the question is how much instanced content the plan to put in the game.

The only parts in the teaser that show it as a MMO were in the town, but all pve scenes look instances. Only during G-Star with a available demo we will have a more accurate impression of the game.
Embarrassed by the fact that Lineage Eternal is just another Diablo 3 clone, NCSoft diligently trolls the interwebs to shutdown all leaked gameplay trailers. Good news, NCSoft addicts and drones, I found one!

"In a town" is the key phrase in your statement. It's too early to determine but my guess is "Recruit NPCs and other players to enter an instance to fight masses of mobs that can be 1 or 2 shot with special class skills and fight a boss at the end that spews out a loot explosion which contains color coded weapons and gear". At most, I've seen 5 people in a group and possibly 2 groups fighting a boss. I have seen a post about "open world" in Lineage Eternal. How is it open world if it's mostly instanced and only open to you and your party? The real fun is encountering other players outside town and "roleplay" with them (gank, killsteal, loot ninja, tell funny jokes and stories, party invite, information trading, and/or clan war)
The game looks heavily instanced for something that is meant to be a Lineage 1 sequel which is underwhelming. But you seem to be blind, there are other players in the town, lots of them, and the behemoth raid had at least 12 players.

And your source? NCSoft has been pretty guarded with the information and features. Last time the promise and showcasing Lineage Eternal was in 2011, and they promised a release to beta soon afterwards. This is actually typical of NCSoft to take years to release a game title. How long did it take for Wildstar to get released? How long have they been working on Blade and Soul? If they do finally release Lineage Eternal to beta, Lineage 1 players shouldn't have any problems adjusting to the new Lineage. Lineage 2 players, probably not so much because of the different game mechanics. I predict another 3 years before we hear more info about Lineage Eternal stateside.
Quit with the chicken scratch links please ..
SrStupedHead asked for the source. The CEO of NCsoft happens to be a native Korean, writing in chicken scratches. If you disapprove of Mr. Kim, you might consider playing a game published by a Western company, like for example World of Warcraft. There all information is provided in English :)
If NCSoft pulls this title past beta and keep most of the features as promised, and I do use the word "promised" very loosely because "It's all about ethics in Gaming Journalism", it will be a great replacement for Lineage 1. To be fair, NCSoft isn't known for promoting their games via advertising and gaming news sites. Pretty risky to port the game to tablet form. I can imagine all the "omg laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag!" complaints.
Complete interview at G-Star 2014:

http://mmoculture.com/2014/11/lineage-eternal-interview-reveals-launch-plans-and-diablo-comparisons/

Based on the interview:

- there will be technically no level cap, when a player hit 50, the heroic levels will have no limit;
- there are no roles, following the filosophy of Lineage 1, Guild Wars 2 and Blade & Soul: every class will be equal when it comes to DPS and defensive abilities, and it doesn't mean a solo based game, because there will be world bosses and group based monsters, like L1 where a player can't beat bosses alone. In L1 for example, group based monsters and bossed have crazy HP regen, if a player alone deals 50 damage per second but the monster has 500 HP regen per second, he will never beat it alone, only a shi1itload of players can defeat it, all DPS combined will be able to overcome its HP regen. The direct consequence is that you don't need a certain composition of classes in a party to profit, you can have for example a party composed of the same class as well as a party made of different classes;
- there will be an open world;
- companion system, but they still haven't decided whether they'll implement a pet or a mercenary system.

** my only concern is this match-making system for clan war(in L1 clans are called Blood Pledges). They intend to make it more equal by creating level restricted massive pvp. From what I understood, it could imply instanced pvp, because only in a giant BG you can provide balanced pvp where both sides are more or less the same level. It is the opposite to the world pvp, because you can't prevent a high level player from killing a low level, but you can discourage it via pk system Lineage offers and it still is the best open pvp system I've seen in an MMO so far.

I hope with the feedback of Lineage players they expect to obtain, they remove this ******** and implement the full open world pvp which is the signature of Lineage and the motive of its success, beating all AAA WoW clones NC has been launching since Aion.
If I want to play a direct Diablo ripoff clone I will I would just play Diablo. :D

Aside from that it does not even look remotely interesting to me.

Who cares about what you think? Lineage 1 has this same kind of top-down camera and is the biggest money maker of NCSoft.

http://youtu.be/CaIrXaDuJZ0?list=UUmH2NfOQzo7zXEI4awbN-PA

LE can achieve success, not as big as Lineage 1(no game NCsoft launchs can surpass the success of L1), but if it can attract former L1-L2 korean players it can do well, but this pvp matching system is the biggest issue for a successful sequel to Lineage 1.
