my point is that gaining xp/sp isnt the measure the games uses to reduce vit. its just killing mobs. didnt make sense to me thats all, but nothing surprises me.
Bullshid aside, your VP is burning due to monster hunt, that in normal circumstances would give you xp/sp, similar to hunting dark-blue mobs. The fact that you don't see xp displayed as gain, it doesn't means that it ain't there.
Besides why would you care, you don't need it anyway.
It is based on the xp of the mobs. What you actually earn is irrelevant. Those mobs you kill are still worth a certain value of XP, and that depletes your vitality based on that.
It's the same reason people used to be able to go get a vit pot then aoe tanor and get full vit back, even if the mobs gave them nothing or next to nothing as the vit lost/gained was based upon the base xp of the mob.

I don't think its based off xp gained at all. I can kill mobs that give me 10'000 - 15'000xp and I loose the vit just as fast as I would killing mobs that give 5+ million xp a kill.

It is, but the formula isn't all the clear (and nc obviously doesn't inform everyone). But for the most part you won't ever lose more than a certain amount per monster, no matter how much it's worth. Otherwise killing very high xp mobs would basically deplete your vit in one go.
None the less, it's about the xp the mob is worth to you, not what you actually earn from it.
