It was said during xmas maintenance that something was going to be added to store for those that would get hero coins from the event (personally i have 300 laying around) since they will be deleted next wednesday.
Where is this store update? Will you add extra time to the hero coins so they are not lost ???

Old box reward = Adena (10b), DEWR, hats, gemstones, random crap.
New box reward = Zigga jewels(worth 10b), DEWR, hats, gemstones, random crap.
aka exactly the same, only for some reason they dont give us the adena directly, but some item we have to sell to NPCs.

I don't think, that it would have any negative effect. Newbies get free equipments and the only thing what for they have to spend Adena is Soul/Spirit shots.
But the amount of mysterious shots as reward could be higher. like 30.000 Soulshot and 15.000 Spiritshot.
it may be fair to put Pandora's Box for the last week because you seduced everybody with this box (that was introduced only to spend hero coins), then you push the limit of hero coin program to the 14th and everybody believe that it is because you'll put back the pandora's box after christmas event. I think there is a lot of players who have a lot of hero coin now and they have choice to buy trash or to loose them !
As much as I want them to bring Pandora boxes back for the few Hero Coins I have left, let's not be silly and say we 'Paid' for those, as they were a 'Bonus'. Although ... if you did buy stuff specifically for the hero coins, Wow.
And please remove the 2nd/3rd class skills like empowering echo and others .. since they are ncwest only ...and ppl are stacking them giving them a unfairly bonus against other classes

They are a bonus, you knew they were going to be deleted, you knew pandora box was a temporary promotion.

There was a problem with the adena, ppl had to petition to fix it.
This is quite possibly the solution.
You know its the foolproof hotfix for the smart ppl that open their pandora boxes after milking their hard working bo .. err fellows and already have the 99 bil cap reached on that char.

Happy New Year All! Today I was reading about the maintenance. First of all the changes at 3rd class transfer is not a BUG as it was called by the GMs, but a change. Maybe that will be good for punishing the botters but it wont be good for new players.
Second of all... Grafeio Teletwn noone said IF YOU WIN THAT REWARD. Where did you see that? Everyone that has a pandora box will get the jewels (10b) as it was written at the maintenance forum (or something was not clear enough?).
I have spent more than 800 of them. Noone told me that I would have that choice at the end of December. If I had kept at my inventory ONE box i would have now 10b? Imagine if there are players out there that kept a number of them. Suddenly they are rich :) Furthermore the event with the pandora's boxes was held on November. Two months later without even a notice we were informed that we would have the "option" to have a lot of adenas but we did not know that, cause we were not smart enough to keep some of them (and not informed at the time of the event). Besides 10b was a chance at pandora's boxes and not a certain pay. I did not even get one of that :)
The balance in game will be greatly affect if it is not by chance as Grafeio Teletwn said but as a fact as it was written at the maintenance forum.
Lately a lot of ppl complaining of losing a lot of adena from the events. For example a desire talisman was sold 800m and now it's like 80m. Something is wrong with the balance at this game.
I hope things will change eventually. Yes we get items through events but it seems that the servers are filled with items that lose their value and players cannot find a way to make adena anymore since all the prices of the items (jewels, weapons, armors etc) are greatly reduced while some ppl that give a lot of ncoins have better chances to make adena and buy them and the rest see their inventory full of worthless items that used to be expensive.

I'm just asking, I was away from L2 for over a year due to housing related concerns and just came back 2 days ago, was just learning the world of Ertheia and I had over 4000 NCoin and 942 Hero Coins. will I now be able to use those to deplete them because I dont want to lose them.
Seeing as I just found out that Hero Coins will be removed from the game on the 14th and wasnt aware of this.
I hope things will change eventually. Items must always lose value over time or new players can never catch up. The top players can afford it when it first comes out, and normal players wait until the prices come down, either from something better coming along, or there being more of that item on the server.
When wind stones came out they sold for 60m each, and today they are worth like 150k. Imagine those poor newbie players trying to put element on their gear at 60m a piece! Or more recently Frint Soul Necklace prices were cut in half from 7b to 3.5b.
If you invested in an item that gets listed on the website as an event reward, I suggest you sell sell sell because the value will be coming down fast, and may never recover. But it's great news if you're trying to buy items. You either need to play the market wisely or whip out your credit card. It's always been this way. I remember dumping a Sword of Valhalla the week before a new update put them in the NPC for cheap, and I know some people who know nothing about the market because they just buy adena/ncoin whenever they need something.
Servers are up internally, we're checking that everything is working fine before opening up to everyone.

What I just don't understand is why they would have their xmas events give hero coins, what should have happened was when you guys took they pandoras boxes out of the rewards tab you should have removed all hero coins from purchases so people couldn't accumulate more. Lol server is back up for awhile now and there's still people whining about 3 hours downtime.
Reason 1. They are botters that trade sell account or adena for RMT
Reason 2. They gonna bot in very few visited spot to level themselves

You can barely see people going to xp nowadays who to say spend 3~4 hours xp'ing
