I just logged into the game, saw the world chat full of messages about the lag, tried to walk around, each step took seconds.
Logged in another character and it could not move at all, being stuck in Aden.
Shortly after, the first character disconnected.
Last message from hero chat:
"I haven't seen such lag in years!!!"
It doesn't seem like Chronos-specific problem, since people from other servers are currently experiencing the same issue too.
It looks like NCsoft in its infinite wisdom just managed to reproduce the insane server lag we used to have years ago during a few ill-famous events.
All hail the lag!
Wait few min, hours or tomorrow to fix it, i just log to check why so much QQ
Ye have lag a lot, so log off and chill with some other game till it goes away...
A trip from warehouse to the gatekeeper just took 12 minutes, with a few d/c on a halfway.
NPC react with 30 seconds delay.
Trade between 2 characters causes one of them to d/c, or the trade window pops up with 1-2 minutes long delay.
I see people from my friend list constantly logging in and out, obviously unable to stay online for more than a couple minutes.
Root cause is always important so you can identify and prevent it later.
Of course that doesn't mean NCsoft will bother with either of those things, but it's still good practice to try and identify the problem even if the issue has gone away.
for all you know the reason was player related like someone lagging the server localhost style trying to oe equipment or some other kind of exploit and stopped when GM's started investigating or maybe GM's just banned a bunch of known bots to relieve some server stress
instead of lag we now just crash 3~4 a day so what gives ?The latency issues on Friday morning were not related to the Naia server crashes. The dev team is investigating these crash issues now.
I't is not just the event. there have ben ss-lag for so long now...
But whene ncsoft don't like to speedt any monny on the sever, it will be like this.
