But, dear Tisephor, problems with Z-R and automated PvP is the main reason of people leave this server. In my clan at least 2 CP's leave the game due to clan "Africa" (Chronos) automated tools.
They made a fully scripted and automated PvE at Gainak, the only one place in the game where people can farm things to make "Dark" stuff.
The automated PvP make the same problem. This guys use massive auto-target / massive auto-assist.
Since you as game master says "Discussions about Innova aren't suited for this forum." when players write things about NC we never got answers.

all top end game clans have ppl using/abusing such so this is definitely not limited to only that 1 example clan or only Chronos server.
Also this is a known issue since C4, HGM Spam aka Mr Porter who is in charge or dealing with these issues knows very well about the issue as well does Juji..
it would be nice to see at least some attempts from GM's to deal with it, Spam knows that they monitored 2 sieges way back in High Five update for such and it had a major visible impact but then GM's stopped doing it and it went straight back to "normal"..
"normal" these days is full auto clan assist on killing your enemies.. awesome pvp..
I would put this on the very nice to have L2 Player list but not very likely going to happen on NC Priority list.

Yeah, it's an issue for tanks. Just because you personally don't die doesn't mean it's not a big problem.

legits click pots is use ID 2
unlegits use ID 1 gather logs for 1 month
unleash ban hammer gz ncsoft destroyed lineage 2 but banned all unlegits its so simple.
aslong ncsoft gathers logs and leave things working for scripters and then after 1 month they can do a mass ban =)
They have tried things like this before. It doesn't take long for someone to find it and work around it.
The invisible item that only bots were picking up was something that got a few people banned, but sure as hell didn't stop botters long.
If they were doing stuff like this, it would need to be constant, and ever changing. Which takes people to do, and if they were willing to spend the money on people for supporting this game the issue wouldn't be there to start with.
It's a issue like CoC exploit. In martel movie with gm skill he was banned, there is not much different than this, anoter game exploit, use stones without have then on bar. I'm not here to say "ban people" just to say kick Z-R!

This is not a new problem, this software was in our game since GoD launch and I think people want to stop this (botters will say QQ more).

Juji has made it very clear that nobody is safe. There is no need to prove 3rd party software usage - he can kill anybody any time. And from the nervousness in the Hitch-bashing thread ("it was fun to play with him") you can tell that the message has obviously arrived in the cheater community :D
A few random bans more and you should see a noticeable reduction in the use of automated PvP on our servers :)

I disagree. As they have hit major people before. The problem is, at some point, they kick back and say "problem fixed forever!" and then don't do it anymore. It doesn't take long for cheaters to figure that out, and then it's game on again.
Elmar, all you need is GM presence during sieges to see how things really are and the effects back in the day when it happened were laughable.. ppl mid siege logging off as they're afraid to get banned etc. and several folks got temp bans out of it which did sent a very clear message to all.
it's like after every new major update it takes the folks behind the pvp scripts like 24~36hrs to update their scripts and guess what almost nobody leaves town for PVP cause they are terrible at it when they have to do it by hands..
I really want the 3 strikes system back as I know NC can do alot more on this then they let on right now just like Redmans example..

2nd 2 weeks
3rd perma ban
when more then half the server is on their 1 week Holiday those folks who actually care about their chars will stop using those scripts and guess what those top players tend to care actually alot about their char..

yes but 3 years 2 months pass from GoD and I still not know any1 who got ban for use bot in PVP. Sad but true, I hope soon (not NCWest tm) but real soon we will see someone who will go in banana island for PVP with bot.
NC never realy care about bots/pvp-scripts beside some rare ban-waves since the long forgotten days of ******** back in 2005 or 2006 .. ususaly twice a year.
The whole mess started when HGM Spam was in charge, so i dont see any reason why ppl still glorify his "banhammer"-propaganda.
We all know its pretty easy to get rid of the bots .. NC yust dont want it. All actions that where taken in the name of "we want to get rid of bots" did hurt the legits more then those who play automated. If i remember correct one of the very first actions was the "80% inventory rule -patch" .. almost 10years ago .. this hotfix is still on, and annoying till now.
well maybe when L2 dies its slow death, the GM's will start promoting fair play to the 1000 or less players left. It will be easier to manage :)

The biggest issue is it's an obvious pattern.
GM's are active for a bit, botters/scripters play legit or sometimes just "take a break". GM's vanish into thin air again and the bots/scripts come back in full force.
So long as GM's don't consistently keep active and looking/banning, the bots and scripts will always come back. It does no good to just make them scurry back into their holes for a few weeks every couple years or so.
1) Beat the dying horse until it stops pooping magic rainbow money.
2) Work on developing games that play on different platforms (ie. tablets and phones) like Lineage Eternal.
3) Potential restructuring of their business for fiscal year 2015.
I'm willing to bet policing the servers with a system that is understaffed is low on their priority list, right now. Enjoy the game while it's still around, because like all great games, it will end eventually.

here is the thing everyone must understand.... IF a guy who host a private L2 server out of his basement can keep programs off his server, why cant a multi million / billion dollar company do it? simple they don't want too! many of us have played a private server at some point and seen on some of them the impossibility to use said programs making the l2 experience that much better... I used to think ppl played private servers cuz they weren't grinders and couldn't xp, come to find out its cuz they are tired of all the scripted playing and pay to win... hey NC soft got an idea for ya, use some of the money you make to advertise!!!!! there is not 1 commercial for Lineage 2 in the USA, yet every 15minuts is a WOW commercial. If u really wanna make money, ban the program users and start advertising for *** sake@@!! not sure how u can ever expect to get new players without making the public aware of your game... Many of us here love this game, we have found nothing out there similar to it, so we deal with the cheaters and scripters. Now imagine if u reached a wider audience how much more n coin u could bring in and then u don't need the cheaters money... Lin says that he got 2000 complains during his time at NCSoft about cheating people. After he banned nine accounts, he got the instruction from his boss to stop that, because that would decrease the incomes. According to Lin 30 to 40 % of the L2- players use bot-programs.
Instead of doing his normal work Lin was forced to close accounts of players who complain to much about the bot situation: " I thought this was unfair but we were forced to do this."
hitch and martel have been reported as bots/script users for years. Find it funny how they get banned for other reasons. just shows juji cant ban for scripts...or whoever does than banning. or maybe their investigations of a player takes 2 years :)
anyways, doesnt matter what they do anymore unless its getting more people playing the game. the key will be banning the pve bot rush once the next patch hits. if they let the bots rush out to lvl 102+ the 1st month, game will officially be dead to me at least.

We are serious. It's not spam when it's absolutely true. You will NEVER, EVER get a serious reply from anyone within NCsoft about what you are asking. Just look at the previous "ask" topic... all the questions were sanitized and "Safe", nothing was asked that had any real relevance to the problems faced by players here.
The absolute best you will ever get is a, "we're looking into it" or "looking for ways to counter" message from the in terms of bots and pvp assists.
They have very, VERY short bursts of activity that everyone holds their breath waiting to see if this is finally the time where they keep up with it or not... only to be disappointed as they let everything slide again.
I'd personally love to see them keep it up, and make this game a real risk to cheat in... but I'll need to be convinced, because they have not shown the willingness to do that for more than a few months at a time (pre GoD to just after GoD launch) at best.
It's been a bot ridden mess since ~2005. That's 10 years of it being a mess.
Only from beta to around halfway through C2 (varied with server) were not swarmed by bots. That's a pretty sad track record.

Since when does the staff talk in depth about the current state of the game with the players? What if they are not allowed to talk about certain topics with the players? Does that really make them unfriendly? And, how are they supposed to bring a friendly staff when they probably don't have a budget to hire more staff? Do you propose that NCSoft layoff the current staff to hire new ones who will probably won't be able to do more than what is being done now? Holding the GMs accountable to the business practices of a multimillion dollar, off shore retail company is kind of outlandish (pun pun pun). Contrary to popular belief, the GMs don't have absolute control over the direction and the policies of the company. It is not in their job description and not in their pay grade. If you don't like the current state of the game, why play at all? I'm sure there are things outside L2 that can occupy your time and not "set your teeth at edge". Leave the GMs alone, they are doing what they can with what tools that are available.

how can you find out ID 1 which is correct working item for months years etc, is now the item that is going to ban you?
its not hard to duplicate items and make them both work
its not hard to make ID 1 get your *** on "ban list" but u dont get banned right away. by the time people figured out it was CP pot u just move on to next item, on the other hand people will **** their pants if Ncsoft does this once and most likely start using pots with macro programs which is gonna cost them a **** load cus these programs are crap and not good at it.
the bans ncsoft did with invisible mob/items are so easy to go around because people can see the item/mob on their ranger but cant see the item ingame it doesnt take rocket science to figure out that something is fishy..

Losers will always find reasons to cry or quit, that's the core of the problem. Everyone is cheating, but everyone's claiming to be legit and accusing others. If it's not cheating, then it's numbers, gear, free time, family, anything. Losers will always look for any possible excuse and that's one thing servers can't change.

It never ceases to amaze me how people cite how *easy* it is for NCWest staff to fix all the problems with the game. I mean according to recka all of this is childs play and it must be some insidious plot by ncsoft to keep the status quo.
As diego pointed out, because of the fundamental flaws in the way L2 operates, and the completely extraneous information every client knows, that suggestion is pretty much impossible to do without leaving something that can be found by those looking.
It would certainly get a few people banned, but even if they started changing it, someone would notice even if they didn't start banning right away.
Anything that would work would need to be all server side or require some fundamental changes to how l2 is working. Not that it can't be done... but it just won't be.

You just plain suck. You have no knowledge of game mechanics, no knowledge how to build a character no knowledge how skills work no knowledge how to make adena in game and expect the top spot in the game to be handed to you on a silver platter? When you get hit for 60k and your chars 1 shotted its not because a script did this to you .. its simply because of the things i mentioned above. I also know so many people that quit because randoms like you give them no competition at all. In my experience being random in life also transfers to games. Keep crying on the forums instead of doing something to better yourself. This (idiotic) mentality is common for 80% of the people that live on this planet.

You most probably won't ever see anybody getting explicitly banned for use of bot in PVP. The trick with the Al Capone solution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Capone#Trials) as adopted by Juji is that you don't punish people for what they actually did, but for some minor misdemeanor. This is a very cost-efficient way of garbage disposal - far more cost-efficient than paying GMs overtime for monitoring sieges on Sundays - and it has the added advantage that since there is no proper legal procedure, the scum has nothing because of which they could appeal to the authorities. This is very effective for instilling fear in the population. Franz Kafka has nicely described this in "The Trial": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Trial

Like the idea. They should make an island for bot's. When they get banned they can use their 3-soft for pvp in that island for eternity. :D

not to derail this topic to much but with the current existing XP boost items ingame I fully expect many powergamers to be at least 102 within the 1st Month of the next release incl. yourself Vood ;)
yes, but I play 10 hrs a day or more with hands just to see others in server do it from cell phone or 1 friend run 6 others accounts on bot for 10 hrs than hand it off to another friend for the next 10 hrs etc...
the problem will come when I get tired and the bots keep on rolling. its one thing to miss them for a few days or a week, but to see them bot for a month straight is just not fair to anyone and thus causes people to quit.
when players feel they have no way to compete/have fun, they usually go find something else to do.
Juji seems to be very much aware of this. He obviously got our version of Infinite Odyssey for internal testing and has realized the implications, the extraordinary advantage that cheaters get, and the frustration this will cause for legit players/payers when the level cap is removed and the new, very expensive skill enchanting system is introduced. I mean lol Africa? Open ur map in game, click World Info. Now click Siege Information bookmark. Look at the word Clan. Everything that is below cheated. Especially those who has 30% tax.

Dieing from being by 3 different DDs who I am sure are in the same part yisn't blatant proof of clan assist either. maybe just good party communication.
How ever when you get hit by 30+ different members from fs in 5-10sec, you could wonder if its still good communication.

In the past years Cryo made always 1-1 post in the first weeks of the year about the plans of the NCwest team to the upcoming year, but nowadays nothing. We also know, that Juji did travel in November to Korea, what probably was a work focused travel, back in time if a staff member moved to Korea we always got some feedbacks what the staff member did there.
- What about the new updates? Is this the reason why L2 staff lesser active on forum, that you prepare it, do you have any kind of plan to release?

I know you aren't a big team and often all of you need to 1-1 project, probably either me either another players wouldn't be angry if you would say like "sorry guys on this week we won't do bigger ban hammer, because we work on the new update or on a new service". But to leave us without a word, It is a bit disrespect to way of us.
- We're having the dev team look into Naia server issues as we speak. Once the issue has been identified and a fix is on its way, we'll let you know more.
