yes you can use a macro through third party devices like mice and keyboards.
some times you can even create a toggle macro which is an infinite loop.
infinite loop macro's can be used to automate gameplay, but it can also get you banned.
most common loop macro is one which cycles through potions so the player is free to do other things while he is spamming pots. this type of macro is not likely to get you banned. but a loop macro of buff, leave party, follow...
might get you banned...
also an auto hunting macro /target x mob, attack, delay, repeat... is auto hunting and could get you banned.
i don't know the frequency of said banning as i am not the one pulling the trigger, but i wouldn't trust those types of loop macro.
I really only use macros on my ISS box. Typically to follow, assist, heal self, buff.... I have my marks all into 1 macro button in my hotkey too on my Wynn to make it easier...that's about it.
