Aggressive adena spammers in Aden, and prob all towns. GM's take action!

Their business exists as long as there is the market. Remove the buyers, and pretty soon there will be no sellers/advertizers. And it is pretty obvious who the biggest buyers are: those who never farm, rarely raid, yet pvp all days long (or just stand in towns showing off with their shiny items).

It is quite possible that every big clan has a few RMTers, the real question is do their clannies care? Because complaining about adena spammers while turning a blind eye at their customers (while some of them are probably around you) would be rather hypocritical.
Btw I remember you wrote something that you just "play with friends", not caring much about the cheaters. If so, what are you complaining about?

Also, it is a known fact that the top clans are deeply involved in RMT, since it's a business to them, not "just a game". They buy, they farm, they sell. And they strongly insist that "such is the nature of things", because they must remain competitive at any cost. "Life is not fair", cheat to win, can't beat them join them, and so on.
Moot point?

Very well said.

Just for the sake of business. I rarely use shout for the purpose of selling, but when I do I'd like to see no interference, such as yourself I presume.
And to be completely clear on the topic, it's not a complaint it's pure spam.
Spammers do not spam just for the fun of it, they do it as they compete for customers.

Even a noob programmer could have easily written a proper script to auto-detect and block them. Apparently there are some reasons why it is not implemented by NCsoft.

GMs could track down all the suspicious adena flows and ban the end customers, at least the biggest ones. Apparently there's the reason why they never do it.
But then the conspiracy theory arises...
Love the way you think, but i do not think it's that deep.
Though am not one to talk since am only less then a year in this server.
But if your theory is right, (most probably it is maybe not 100% but am guessing 90%), I'd like to see how it ends.

I can tell you how this started.

11 years ago, during Beta, when players just discovered this game, the servers were already crowded with professional farmers. Those were live players, not bots. Mostly from China. They were very aggressive, they often pked everyone who entered their farming grounds, they had been holding some areas on lockdown for years. Why do you think they came there that early? Becase they did know there would be lots of ebayers.

Month after month, players complained about the farmers yet NCsoft pretended to be blind and denied everything, saying "we need some time to investigate". Finally, years later, they admitted there was a problem, then HGM Spam began banning some bots, selectively, but the game has lost too many players long before that.

People kept leaving, and before GoD the servers were totally depopulated. Even after the 2nd merge when only 2 servers left (Chronos & Naia) it was so empty that you could spend hours lonely xping in the most popular locations without seeing any other player. That's when the farmers seemed to have given up, and there were almost no bot trains around, almost no RMT spam, or not much of it, at least.

But then L2 went f2p, the drops rates got nerfed, and the servers were flooded with new folks: the ex-private server players with no time to earn gear yet very eager to "donate" and "pwn". And the black market started blooming again.

Now, think for a second: if NCsoft really wanted to get rid of that all, how long would the farmers/RMTers last?

A GM could make a killing off selling black market adena....I mean, who's going to tattle? Certainly not the one who's also the police. Not that this is or was ever happening. But it easily could. More money to make if it doesn't have to filter through NC, and goes straight to your pocket. Just sayin'. I mean, if I were the end all be all, and I wanted to make extra money, I wouldn't ban my own bots or sellers...why would I stop my own cash flow?
