Hello I played L2 back when U.S Beta was launched then for a few years afterwards.
Kain was my main server hang out as a scavenger.
I was wondering what to expect from the game after being away for so long.
can I still get a pet wolf and level it.. Can I still enjoy one shot death spikes from a necromancer....those were a fun few weeks :)
Are clans still able to forum alliances?
Been wanting to pop back into L2 for a while just World of Warcraft raiding was eating all my free time.
Now that I have some down time I figured I'd give L2 a try again.
O I almost forgot did they do away with sub classing?
And what server should I join to just relax and enjoy the game?

Good times having 40+ clan/alliance members show up just to stop me from being Pked any more.

You played in the "era" lineage 2 was in its finest, starting again expecting it to be like old times would only disappoint you.
1>85 can easily be done in 3-5 days given enough time, you will have free full buffs (literally full buffed) from NPC lasting 1h, killing every monster in 1-2 hits, so leveling a wolf would be rather pointless given the circumstances.
Most of the old systems are still in play however, pets, fortress sieges, alliance, clan wars, contestable CHs, almost all old quests etc etc.
Days of playing smart & winning opponents by skill is basically gone, its all about using PVP scripts/bots and taking part of the pay-to-win events by NCSoft, or buying adena from players & getting full gear in a week.
That being said, if you dont mind the PVE, grinding with friends, slowly reaching max level etc. its still very enjoyable ;)
A new player will have no chance at all in PVP, atleast in a big scale like sieges etc.
Of course some random pvp at quest sites are still OK since there are still a few new players.. but as i said, PVP is dominated by scripts & people buying full gear, mostly a combination of both.

Any one remember the player zoticx in the old days of kain can not remember the clan he had though fun times then
DarkVengeance, he with Tormenter & Diawa ran the clan in the early days and always non stop pvp with clans like DragonFire / COE / PDA (Paradigma) / Dread / DragonKnights etc.
DV with FA (FallenAngels) were the bad boyz of Kain :)

Rerolled, put nick as dlawa (L), botted his way to 99/99, scammed genocide clan etc.

LittlePigs was on Lionna not Kain; Lionna merged with Kain to form Aria. Although I guess we could just consider Aria as Kain 2.0 since Lionna was only there... for me to **** on! I don't even know if RescueRangers was on Lionna, that might have been Erica? Whoooo knoowwwwss

Yeah maybe that was it. Probably was Kain 2.0 when they rolled in. That is way far back to remember all of that.

God no, I made it for about 3 weeks after Goddess of Destruction and that's all I could manage. I'll log in every once in a while just to see new changes but it just seems to get worse and worse. The only way I'll ever touch this game again is with an English version of L2 Classic, even if I have to play on Innova servers. Good news is they'll have their registration/survey site up pretty soon to gauge interest in such a project, so there is hope for some REAL L2 yet!
1.5 years break and still the same old pfart, but the game changed a lot though. i feel like a noob again, my skills changed on most classes and more... oh boy so much to learn.
i too started out on kain, agreed on kain2.0 and may want to remind you that back then the server name was supposed to change into "Gran Kain" but the GM's and some lionna crybabies felt it reminds too much about the old server and kain2.1, so they named it chronos instead
ps: i believe RR was from mostly kain players but was created after the 1st merge
actually there were 2 RR clans, 1 old skool Kain one which used to be full with alts from TeamJesus and one from another server that ended up taking the clan name after the forming of Chronos
go figure that lolz
