So I find it rather short sighted of NCSoft to incorporate this level of exp increase, wondered what other peoples thoughts are on the matter.
I see some people say itll bring more outside pvp, but the removal of the level cap did that, in all honesty those who arent bothered by it now wouldve likely have kept investing to get as high as possible (lvl105 anyone?). But this level of increase (not to mention method of doing it) will only go to alienate a large part of the player base. Leading to a lowering in the player base, which seems to be shrinking despite the new update. All in all, it explains why so many friends have gone on to play ****** of late, cause NCSoft seems to be working on the business model squeeze as much out while we can, as the ship be sinking...
Pity they dont invest time into improving quality of prestige pack, events then people might be willing to spend money out of joy, atm all this does is leave a bitter taste in the mouth.
P.S. Ive played since OB, but the changes over the last year or two have sucked what joy remains in this game.
I love this update i love changes in oly/coc, changes in the skills i cant recovery my mana now but thats what makes it interesting... before update i was spamming skills in oly with limitless mana it was kind of boring for me to win so many times, even without good gear. Now it's fun i can lose mana and die :D. Those new talismans from Olympiad Manager are so cool lol Cancel hide etc... I'm using 4 active talismans on 1 free slot soo much fun.
What about exp ? I'm on 99 lvl but with good party, few hours in a day and exp runes, etc... if have money one day 105+, nobody said we need to up it in few weeks.
Even the new nobless quest will take few months ? That's another reason to log in and do something when you have free time.
Thanks NCSoft <3 Finally i'm not standing whole day "away from keyboard" in Aden ^^.
For top geared players - Great expansion! New things to do, new raids to kill, open areas provide more chance for pvp, new skills and new skill enchant routes to explore, new items.
For mid geared lv. 99 players - A mixed bag. Open field hunting zones are great ! Good exp, good sp, more chance for pvp! It's one of the things that made lineage so great. New, hard quest, with cool rewards. Top geared players remain untouchable, but you can still have fun. The skill power nerf, and up to +20 skill enchant makes an even bigger gap between the player base.
For low geared sub 99 players, that don't spend much money, or at all, on the game - God help them all! I hope they can have fun hunting lower raids and PvP-ing each other. Maybe that increased drop rate in 85+ hunting zones can help somewhat.
Overall, I like the expansion. But I hope future expansions bring more improvements for lower level players as well.

^^^ this 1000% :)
havent done oly yet but at least now we have a place where we can go and grind for a few hours and make decent xp they only thing that would make it better is an area with decent xp that doesnt waste full mp bar while killing one mob
You claim to be an open beta player, but what bothers you about these changes? You can cry all you want, but id at least like to hear your reasoning.
The xp tables are rough, but they are in no way rough beyond means. I remember when my whole server (Devianne) was level 77-79 because NOBODY cared enough to grind to 80 for awhile. The xp needed to hit 80 took months. People would form full IT parties and make 1% a day (4/5 hours of grinding) and nobody cried. They just keep doing what they do... If you're level 100 and pvp a few times a week? What does it bother you that hiting 101 will take 6-8months? It SHOULDN'T MATER, because 90% of the player base is in the same boat as you. Should you have the desire to hit 101 with little runes? Its going to take a long hard grind, but that is no way different than what level 79-80 used to be back in the day and its very possible. Patients is a virtue...
If you have money and want to use runes? Why are you crying because you spend 300 dollars and 45-55 hours of xp? That is mere tiny in the large scale picture that is lineage 2 and now in 45 hours you have made game changing strides (level 101 skills) This game doesn't change overnight, it doesn't change in a week. This game takes months for large changes to come into effect and everybody who has played for more than 2 years realizes this.
The game is going back to its roots, an open field grind fest. This makes ganking and pvp all the more important. This makes motivation and dedications to ones goals stand out. You people are all new school kids who haven't been around for a while, and seeing your tears is delicious. From a marketing standpoint I can see while you feel robbed, but don't harp on NCSOFT for reverting back to what made this game cut throat. You don't NEED to buy xp runes. People may hit 102 and be stuck there for 2 years. You don't think in the next two years you can catch up? The game has ALWAYS been this way.
TL;DR - Not much changed, game is finally going back to its roots. Don't buy runes if you cant afford, and dont be suprised when somebody hits 101 before you. However none of this really effects the bigger picture on your server.
Like others said, oly and CoC are now better as well. Stop crying and leave the your tears elsewhere.
But anyway, lets belive its true. Was better 1% a day for 15 bucks a month than 1,5 at what 200 a week.
What got sooooo much better to account for this increase?
Not even getting into adena amount.
Remember, one 7day 200% rune = one brand new game.
its not what we can afford but what its worth.

Stop the drama? You're the one crying. Theres many people who had it that bad when you added in ganks and bad groups. Even if it was 2-5% a day YOU CAN STILL DO THAT
I don't understand why you have to spend 200 dollars for 1.5% a week. I guess you're really bad at this game...still?
I made 4% today for 4.5 dollars. I didn't NEED to buy those erupting pots, I could have got 1% today for free If i wanted 1% a day. That means in 100 days (Or less) I could be 101 and peaking out where most the NA players probably will. Whats the problem?
L2 used to be a grind fest back in the day, but it's now 2015 and the days of grind MMOs are long gone. The average joe of 2015 wants faster gratification than 0.1-0.5%/hour. Even in Korea they have realized this, but apparently not on L2NA.
The only ones I see liking this special "grind" version is the 5% of the population that have massively stacked toons. If you have +6/+8 sets, pvp/pve +++r99 weapons, full epics, longing, +4/5 brooch jewels, etc etc you can can grind 5-10x faster than average joe can. Of course you will love this.

Eh, not quite.
80, back in the day, was much different. At first there were no new skills for it really worth it. There wasn't any level difference other than increased skills (if any) and skill OE's. Comparing a level 79/80 player to a level 76-78 player was far more about gear than anything else.
Now, I actually wouldn't have an issue with this XP chart, IF it was universal. But it's been known for months what Korea got, as well as Japan. Even that the EU servers got that xp chart (or close enough) and went with it.
The fact that they changed it for us is a pretty big deal because everyone who has been anticipating/talking about the update was gunning for some relief from the crazy 99-100 grind to be able to get to at least 101 before they had to settle in deep for a much longer grind.
At this point, many are looking at 99 and figuring why should they bother trying for anything higher. 101 was like the carrot at the end of the stick. "Get though 99 and you can be rewarded with a satisfyingly easier time to 101 for some nice new skills".
Many won't make it to 102, but they are still at a pretty good spot with 101... just a matter of getting there.

People are getting 4% an hour at level 99, so I'm not sure what crazy 99-100 grind you're talking about....? People are just lazy and want to be rewarded with little effort. Unfortunately that's never been l2, and it never will be. People used to farm thousands of tomes for dynasty armor, that was a non issue tho?
Whats the problem with the changed xp table is, or why we are griping about differences in EU/Japan/Korea? We've always got a different version of the game and different aspects. Comparing their stuff to ours is like apples to oranges.
I'm just curious, what makes 50 hours give or take "Unheard of" or "To hard" or "Way exaggerated" could you honestly tell me, 50 hours of xp to get level 101 is insane? (Mind you, this is full rune prices with a good group) I think 50 hours of proper xp is more than easy enough for people that want to get their levels. For those that don't well they'll sit here hoping NCsoft listens to their prayers I guess....

^Yes Also a huge population on L2 players were teenagers when it came out and still play, but have children and work to do now lol

Uch, the major bot has spoken.
Cant we make a forum for botters that can say to eachother how easy this game is, and another forum for legits that actually do experience the hard life? I mean this bot is talking like he plays manual, but i've seen him botting in EG full pt's. probably wasted 1000's of dollars already...
Let's see, I'm ~30% into lvl 99 with 12+ AP, and I hit lvl 99 a year ago. It's 3% per month, mind me.
If I stay in game, I'll be lvl 100 in 2 years or so.
Since my xp mostly comes from Kartia, I see no point in buying xp runes/vitality pots.
I don't have an o/e weapon, therefore I can't solo AoE 1-shotting fat mobs, like top players do. I can xp in open field only with CoC buffs (in between of CoC matches), else it's painfully slow.
In fact, I was not planning to xp at lvl 99 at all. When AP have been introduced, I was like: "What, do I have to farm SP now? Great, I'll do it only via Oly and CoC! Pvp quests only, and no more PvE grind!!!"
But obviously, some players (especially the so-called "hardcore pvpers") can't get enough of that grind, and NCsoft must cater to their needs...

99 is a bit easier if you're in the right areas in the right groups. But the vast majority will not be getting anything close to that unless they are running nstore items. And they won't be getting anything remotely close to that at 100 even with nstore items.
And lets be clear here. Only a select few were farming thousands of tomes for dynasty armor, and at least on erica/sayha those people were... to put it bluntly, not at the computer. So yes, when you don't need to be there, it's a non issue. They were also making billions of adena off of a cornered market, as well as frequently making RL money as well. A far cry from spending your own $$$ and/or adena to scrape out xp.
Whats the problem with the changed xp table is, or why we are griping about differences in EU/Japan/Korea? We've always got a different version of the game and different aspects. Comparing their stuff to ours is like apples to oranges.
The problem is everyone looking into the update knew the XP table changes. We get a slightly different version from Korea, but it's always based upon theirs. We might get a completely chopped up mix of numerous updates, get certain "features" out order, etc. But they have never made a massive change to what it takes to level between their version and ours.

If you think it's going to take 50 hours to hit 101 then you're insane. I've got one clannie that's burning pots/vit and playing like CRAZY that's over 14% right now, and there is no way in hell anyone can keep up that pace for long. He's put in almost half that 50 hours estimate of yours already and he's not even 1/4 of the way there. He could have spent a bit more money and probably be closer to 20% right now.
And the vast, vast majority of people aren't going to be able to kill that fast, play that long, or spend that much money.
I'm not saying it's an unreachable goal. But it's absolutely not a simple thing. The old 80 and then 85 were nowhere near as hard. You paid your monthly fee and if you wanted to push for it, you could get there in a couple months or so, far less time to 85 towards the end. Paying the same amount of ncoin now a month, you're never going to get close to 101 in any reasonable amount of time. But with the Korean XP tables, you absolutely could have.
And in case you missed it. I said had this been the original intention, fine. People would have known it, and they would have made their piece with either sticking to the grind, quitting, or just giving up already.
money and politics aside I'd kinda like to see some better solo areas for 90ish people. Instances get so lame and that's what's turned me off. The same old crap with little reward for doing it.
For low geared sub 99 players, that don't spend much money, or at all, on the game - God help them all! I hope they can have fun hunting lower raids and PvP-ing each other. Maybe that increased drop rate in 85+ hunting zones can help somewhat.
I've wasted 300 dollars since GoD went live 3 years ago. It wasn't really wasted either, as the amount of fun we've had playing l2 for the past 3-5-10 years has been rather fun. I plan to spend maybe another 200 to hit 101, but I'm in no hurry.

Of course the majority of people won't make that, but that's why I said people should spend more time trying to maximize there xp than sitting here crying about it being tough. If they did that, they could make that and be 100 in no time, and 101 rather soon.

In their defense, its not a massive difference, its just exactly the same to 102, but everyone keeps looking at 101 and is freaking out. Remember, there is no level cap, getting 101 or 102 isn't going to happen for anyone over night. Again, people always managed to catch up in xp and levels, some just get there before others.

I don't think its going to take me 50 hours of xp, but based on the xp two people claimed in the other thread, ITS POSSIBLE to do it in ~50 hours of xp. No offense to your clannie, I don't know how he xps but if you're not AoEing fortress or Genesis with a proper group you're probably not up to par. Wait until you find a party that can do this for 3 hours a day and stick to it, otherwise hold on and be patient.

A couple of months? If you spent 30 dollars for a destiny pack(100% 30 day rune) and made 1% a day you could have 101 in your couple month time slot. Mind you this is assuming most people payed for a buffer account, with 15 dollars it may be slightly tougher, but 1% a day for 3months isn't difficult. I think I've made near 2% just killing monsters while out looking for pvp :D
Remember how updates always go? People figure out where the good xp spots are and eventually take advantage of them. If people are making 2% an hour right now in fortress aoe 4 days after the update, give it a month and people will be making 3 or 4% with items popped.
Anywho, whats the rush? Why are we concerned we cant hit 101 in less than a few hours?
tell us what you need and where for 5% per hour ? in 1 day you hit lv lv 100 from 99 ,00 ... how much $ you spend?
Solo warp (5-7% an hour at 6.85x boost exp) and for a super dps class (eviscerator) can do even more exp at EV.
Anyway solo warp could get you 100-101 in around 35 hours with full exp boost. A proper aoe party in the new areas i think could be even more exp. 300-500b exp an hour instead of only 280b in solo warp.

Shh man, let them do their katrias and octavis instances. They'll get 101 in the next 10 years, but boy will they be good at ocatvis!
On topic, killing 4 mobs and getting 0.01 is not slow, and that's w/o any XP boosts.
if it takes me 4-5 months to get 101 with out a rune I will catch up because no one will get 102 any time soon.
Also people need to stop making party's and go to solo areas like Enchanted Vally. IF you want to maxmaize your xp you go to go to a party area not one made for solo.
