Iw been wondering what Vital spot attack really stands for.
Like in my case with 97 Othell. I was Fortune seeker before and wasnt able to Half kill mobs with Single dagger.
Afaik:
Base Vital rate is:
-10% from Maximum critical
- 5% from single dagger mastery
For other than fortune seeker the active skills increase vital (GH in this case):
- Mortal strike lvl8 -> 28% increased vital spot (has cd)
- Critical Prowess lvl1 -> 5% more vital spot
The thing is - that my GH does half-kills almost at same rate than my Fortune seeker. I cant see any visible difference in killing mobs in Blazing swamp at level97.
Also - an ex-hero dagger told me that atm Vital spot increases his damage only... basically his saying that Vital spot is not related to Half-kills.
Basically im just confused.
a) I cant HK any mobs almost at all in Blazing swamp with any Othell version. (this is with lvl97 Othell)
b) I dont understand what Vital spot attack rate stands for.
If anyone with solid knowledge could answer any of my questions I would hugely appreciate.

Edit. Only thing I can think is - is that Vital Spot is actually chance to Half Kill indeed - but:
for case (a) the 28% I get from lvl7 Mortal strike is "increased" in a sense that it multiplies the total Vital spot bby 1.28. Thus if you have 20% base vital spot you get addition 5.6% from Mortal strike -> making the total Vital spot attack rate 25.6%...
For case (b) the only thing I can think is that since the Blazing swamp mobs are 98-99 Vital spot has very low "hit" rate. Even so low that any 97 Othell cant HK mobs there properly. I was told that some mobs in Dimensional Warp dont take HK at all. ( I have actually been told by a 99 dagger that he kills mobs there with few hits so its very possible that its possible that 97 Othell really cant grind effectively in Swamps.)
1. mobs not have vital spot. that is for pvp and is chance to drain HP w/o to enemy CP get hit.
2. yes, not only in DW but many mobs in game have very big or even 100% HK def (like all rb but they are normal mobs). Mobs who have big HK def usual are very good to hit them x2 critical. That why othell with +4 apo dualls dam up SA 300 is x10 more good from othell with +16 S80 weapon in DW or any other PVE. Proper othel for DW/all PVE must have r95/r99 dagger or r2/r95/r99 dual dagger +4/300
I don't have solid information but I will share my experience.
In my opinion there are mobs that are hard to half kill like for example the Orc Nerva Priest in Gainak.
In my case, I can half kill mobs in blazing swamps not just very often and they are still hard to kill due to their high HP.
With the current event that we can get +6 weapon, I've noticed that I can half kill more in general mobs compare to using my +4 specter 300elem. So maybe higher enchant weapon has something to do with HK.
I've also noticed that HK triggers more at the front than at the back(at least based on my playing style). I'm GH btw.
Vital spot is what Blow-type skills attempt to hit. "An unprotected back" with Blood Stab or, from Korean translation, jugular vein, underbelly, with the other skills.
Vital spot attack rate is the chance of landing a blow.
VITAL SPOT = region where if affected can lead to death. I cannot believe so many ppl say so much non sense about this. VITAL SPOT ATTACK is a blow straight on HP ignoring CP.
@ShakaZuluPP @187s
vital spot have nothing to do with the direct to HP damage. Blood stab will always do damage directly to HP and no other skill will do this...
i always thought vital spot was related to half kill/lethal...
but if it's not the case the only post with sense is the one from Light616
and whait i can understand from it is vital spot could be just the probability of not miss the blow...
