I would like to introduce BusterCasey as a community moderator for NCSOFT games. Along with Juji, Vali, Tisephor and I, he will be assisting the Lineage II team as additional eyes on the forums and social channels.
Please welcome BusterCasey to the Lineage 2 family!
Hi Buster. Quick question... Ever played Lineage 2?
Hey Decon,
I hadn't until I knew I'd be coming over here, so I'm a baby-faced noob. I have just started a character though and am looking forward to getting know everybody here.
I would like to introduce BusterCasey as a community moderator for NCSOFT games. Along with Juji, Vali, Tisephor and I, he will be assisting the Lineage II team as additional eyes on the forums and social channels.
Instead of having several "community moderators for NCSOFT games", wouldn't it be more efficient if you concentrated on Lineage 2 and left Vali and Tisephor to their Aion devices. It's always so embarrassing when Tisephor writes "realm" instead of "server".
And to get you started on your job, why don't you kill this guy instead of just deleting his bot propaganda posts:
Welcome to L2 its always good to see fresh blood not only in game but with staff aswell
The problem is who are you guys? Hime,Tsiphor,Vali etc. Can we have a section on main site with introductions to the staff for L2 i would find that interesting the old archived website had a staff section im sure a lot of people would also be interested
5. ingame events not $$-store-events

Maybe you want when people Create a character to start from Main lvl 105 16 AP / Dual 105 16 AP / All skills +10 / +8 Dark and Bloody Set / +16 Dark and Bloody weapon / and in your inventory 99,000,000,000 Adena !??!!?
So where will be the point of playing this game and imagine yourself on the owner of NCsoft place... will you give product for free with everything free ?
So you started playing before joying? Regular toon or GM toon? Have you found bots already? (ofc you have)
Better keep sharp to delete bot posts, cause you guys don't ban them ingame, so they overload here.
You know, there was a years old thread about bots here with more responses and views then all other thread together. But mod deleted for some reason..
Basically this game is all about botting, using cheating programs to PVP, and selling items/toons on parallel market.
Ah, my signature recalls a vote thread where someone asked about bots or cheaters few years ago and in the results we found that the Moderator1 account voted "I don't care"
Do you care? Or you'll just remove my signature as they did before or delete this post?

Any posts that break the rules will absolutely be dealt with; if you see one, please don't hesitate to hit the report flag and I'll take a look ASAP.
However, please don't make posts or threads calling out/asking for another user to be actioned. If there's something you feel needs more explanation that a report won't do, then I'll always take a PM.

No promises, but if a proper introduction is something you guys want I'll see if I can put something together.

Welcome.
Yep, I just started playing a few days ago on a regular character; no special GM permissions for this guy. Seems like a much better way to experience the game the way the players do and see first-hand what your issues might be.
Do I care about bots? Absolutely. Especially in games like these it tends to ruin a lot of the fun for normal players. That being said, there isn't much I can do as a forum mod other than encourage people to report them in the appropriate place.
First of all, do not take serious the flame threads of this little people dissatisfied with everything and therefore discounting everything about you.
And I have some questions.
1) How many male children have you murdered so far?
2) Balloons? Where they are?
Once I hate clowns, since i've watched from Stephen King's It, my best answer to your compliance would be:
well .. as you are new .. and most likely nobody told you: Irony is strong is strong in this forum .. and na-l2 almost has no fanboys, so you can consider almost every posting as hate, rant, ironic or yust a flame .. and yes .. NC worked hard for it and deserve it.
but welcome, even if you (or whoever) deleted some of my postings.
Hey Buster, or Hime... Want to take a stab at something? I've been ignored for weeks on multiple occasions when asking for help from [any willing] NCSoft employees. Here's a copy/paste from another thread:
"Hey... I'm looking for a reply from the development team, or someone who can help. I posted the following [edit: weeks] ago with no reply at all, in the general technical sub-forum. It has to do with anniversary items:
'Typically, I am very understanding of certain issues knowing they usually get resolved in a reasonable amount of time. This particular issue is one that is not a bug, but a development oversight. I haven't seen anyone raise this issue yet, which leads me to believe nothing will happen unless someone speaks up.
Overview: I created my account during open beta (March, 2004) and played through OB, up to current times, with a few short breaks. As most of us have, I rerolled over and over until I found something I liked. My eldest toon was turned into a perma-red and eventually deleted because I had no way to know they would clean the slates across the board once in a while. Now, I do not have a toon that reflects my veteran status to receive the rewards for 10th and 11th years eligibility.
So... For those of us who have stayed through everything - and FFS, there have been times I wondered if I cared enough to continue playing (and paying) - why is it that the development team chose character creation dates, rather than account creation dates, to reflect someone's veteran status?
I was referred here by the support team after some communications via ticket submission. They said the best way to solve the issue is to bring it up with the development team on the official forums. So there it is...'"

I would personally think that the account creation date would reflect your vet status and that support could insert those rewards into your warehouse. I feel they should on your highest level toon. If the account is in good standings I don't see why it can't be done. Over the years they did do clean outs of inactive accounts unfortunately, but they did give a lot of warning to log on to keep your toons from being deleted.
I still agree with you that your account date should get you the reward packs anyways. They didn't seem epic to me,but to someone else they might be.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure I have a satisfactory answer for you. However, I can at least try to get some kind of response. Shoot me the link to the thread you made in a PM.
I have a few questions for you. What kind of influence would you say that you have on the GMs if we are talking about illegal activity on the server?
Lets say that you, as a normal player, run in to an area full of bots and the bots makes your playing experience miserable.
Can you take action?
When you run into a stair full of adena sellers spamming the white chat to a level that it makes the chat unusable.
Can you take action?
1. Influence? Not much really. I am able to send things over to them, but it's really not any more effective than submitting a support ticket yourself. Probably less, actually.
2. Nope. In game I have all the same power/abilities that any of you do. So, the best I can do is submit a support ticket.
3. Again, nope. I can report and ignore but that's all I have available to me.
My domain is strictly the forums. Hope that clears it up for you.
Hello BusterCasey welcome in the world of Lineage 2!
Was time to get some more people as moderator on forum since was a lots of garbage on the forum.
Casey you will experience, that we have here many hater or troll and drama makers, so you will have a lot of work on forum:D.
Mostly you will see, maybe, that people cry on the forum if they detect some bot groups or cheaters.
In partly they have right, because we got issue with them as every another game, also as this game is sandbox here you can experience the problem much more.
But often they over react the situations.
BTW, we have 2 Community Manager now? I see this title under the name of Hime and Vali too. Also who is currently our producer?:D

I feel a little chaos here:D
Haha, not too much chaos. Just a little shuffling in order to provide some better communication and service to the players.
Bots are never fun to play with, I definitely understand that. If you see those types of posts on the forums, don't hesitate to hit the flag on the post so that I can see it. I make an effort to read every post but sometimes I do miss things. This thread (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=266121) covers the proper way to report bots and the players using them so that they can be investigated. Thanks for the welcome!
Sad to say but last thing we need is more forum admins, ppl cheating in the game are sinking it like a hole in a boat and despit how many ticket we send or how many times we send them nothing happens. we see that over and over again.
It's sad how well ppl playing the game can spot cheater, yet gm takes month to investigate as they say and in the end do nothing about it. I know they say they ban every day but us the players know better.
Why on earth would you hire a Community Manager for a gaming community, who has never played the game?
Because clowns are scary. LOOK AT HIM! Scary clown is very optimistic about the game and fighting bots. Little does the scary clown knows, the game will break him. Scary clowns make great scapegoats.
Why is clown locking threads if it's not neccessary?
Ordinarily, I'd remove this sort of comment but I wanted to go ahead and answer it to hopefully head off similar questions in the future.
23. Do not post about forum moderation decisions. If you have a complaint or concern about a forum moderation decision, you may PM a staff member to inquire about it. Appeals against forum moderation decisions will be considered. While it may seem like there is always someone doing something worse, this does not make more minor violations any less valid. If you feel like something was locked or removed without sufficient reason or you'd like to further discuss it, please PM either myself or Hime (or both).

That is not the problem at all.
The problem is - GMs who never played a game. Or played 1 month (LOL).
So, they "hunt" bots, investigate them for months (uhhh), and after that let them go free because they consider them legit enough (LOL again).
Experienced player see bots in 10 seconds. And need just few minutes to verify any logs and ban them forever. This is what happens on bot-free servers. Not here.

God, I'm glad I don't play here anymore! NCWest's game management is still tragedy in progress...
Just take some info for upcoming patch, try few things in game and seeya in half year.
Buster, for years we have been screaming for help in game and have gotten nothing. They hire you to stifle dissent on the forums instead of dealing with obvious issues a button-clicker could fix. I know for a fact that one SINGLE person, just ONE, can make an enormous difference on at least one server. Instead of paying you to silence the gaming communities concerns, they should be paying you to monitor, at least, the game chat. A huge problem is the RMT spam, and as you know, they are 'investigating'. Well, in the mean time, BAN them... They are allowing free advertisement for weeks on end instead of having just one person click a button every once in a while. ONE person could patrol bot hotspots and hammer them one by one. The whole server could be cleaned up in an 8 hour work period. Continue this 5 days a week and there would be less and less incentive for them to rail us so hard every waking second of every fooking day and night with spam and vast armies of bots. Seeing you be hired to moderate THE FORUMS of all places is probably the biggest failure in customer service I've seen in years. No offense to you, but you are wasting your time at NCSoft. If you want to help us, ask for more responsibility, fast, or hire ME.
Actually, honestly, that sounds like an excellent idea. Suspension during an investigation. If the account owner of "Ppy009" (disclaimer: this is a name that I created using the usual naming conventions in use by quick creation players) can make a valid excuse for his suspicious behavior, remove the suspension.
