It took me 5-days to play the game and open all the winning boxes,
since Loss also gave 1 x 11th coin, which I could trade back for scrolls,
the game took a lot longer to play than I thought...
The result?
Well, I spent $600 US and the things that I wanted Never Dropped.
No Tauti, No Kelbim, not even istina or octavis...
Just lots of shadow weapons and enchant scrolls...
stuff that I don't need...
The best I got was 'Rare Soul Crystal Ingredient Pack (R95-grade)'
which had 1,000 + R-gems but that was about it...
They brought back the Lavienda...
So I spent 80,000 N-coins ($1,000 US)
and the highest Gem I could get was LvL4 opal...
So far...NC events are like...
They make the events look like we are gonna win something...
but we don't..so we spend more... and we lose more....
I thought L2 was AT LEAST, we Pay-To-Win...
but in reality it looks like, we Pay-To-Lose money...
so we Pay-To-LoseMoreMoeny...
I started playing L2 like 4 months ago, and noticed the sharp
decline of number of players in my server...(chronos)
People who paid money left, cuz they could not get their money's worth...
People who could not pay lots...also left cuz they realized they will
never be good at this game without spending $50,000-$100,000 US
Lineage2 is such a beautiful game.
It took years of development and the thoughts and care
of its original creators is just AMAZING.
when I play L2, I see the passion of its original creators.
Sadly, the game is dying not just because it's old but
because of poor management.
I don't think anyone can come up with a game as beautiful
as L2 ever again. and the game should last forever if NC knows how to manage it
properly.

More adena drops for everyone, so there is no need for RMT or

Sell only Vitality items(+ cosmetics) in N-store for people who
have money but not enough time to play.
Do this, and more people will play L2 and more business for NC

game is Gambling.
spending real money is just like going to Vegas.
the more you pay, the more you can play for better rewards, but it's not a guarantee. this is the nature of gambling.
however the down side is that you have no chance to recuperate your losses.
in addition, the game is playable beyond the time of gambling, and even without spending any real life money. so... you can continue to play the game.
if you're willing to pay out that much on gambling, don't come back and cry because you lost. your options are either continue to play, or cut your losses and run.
my only complaint is that NCsoft does not publish it's winning chances.

I am a returned player actually.
I used to play a lot back when max level was LvL 75.(like 10 years ago...)
My main was abys-walker and I didn't have the adena to buy
Crystal Dagger, C-grade weapon.
The crystal Dagger was priced at 12 million back then...which I didn't have.
So I made a Dwaven scavenger and searched the entire map of L2
to find the best spot for spoiling.
I found the good spot near dark-elf villiage (level 20-26 area)
for animal bones which I could sell in town for around 500 adena each.
I spoiled there day and night...until I collected 25,000 animal bones...
No botting...no Real Money trade...just me sitting in front of my computer
doing the work. I was young and pure, I guess...
Now that I came back to L2...
Now that I am a grown-up man with some money,
I wanted to try it all.
Spending 100,000 + N-coins on event items was
one of those things I had to try...(a lot more actually when I think about
Event shirts, Vitality items like Destiny pack, 100%, 200% runes..etc.)
In a way, I am glad I found out what happens after I go all the way...
In future, I don't think I will be spending money on L2 store like I am now,
Maybe Destiny pack + Prestige pack when my Main becomes
LvL 95+...
Just out of curiosity, for those of you who got LvL 5 JWLs...
How many N-coins did you have to spend before you got it?
Or How many LvL 1 gems did it take to get 1 x LvL 5 Jwl?
I am glad I don't need to spend $50,000 - $100,000
to be good at this game and that there is still more to learn for me

I guess I can do that and after killing 3-4 mobs just sit down and
wait until my mana gets full (10 minute after killing 3-4 should do it)
...and repeat the process...
should take me no more than 10 hrs to complete the bloody swamp

I'd suggest you to play for a couple of months, figure out the basics, what you actually need, then maybe invest in something.

Not backing up anything else the OP said, but I agree with the complete bull**** event system where it's all rigged so a few win, then nothing at all and people waste $$$ buying stuff for nothing.
I have gambling issues, I find it hard to control myself. I also like L2.
With these events I've wasted a lot of $$$ that I never intended or wanted to. I can't avoid it and play the game that I enjoy because there's items in there that you simply need and there's always in your face gambling events that pretend they'll give you those items.
Unless you have $10,000 in gear you're going to be a worthless 1-shot in most situations. I have 2nd tier gear in almost every aspect, lvl 4 jewels, +8 non-dark set, 3 Day CoC belts, Anakim + longing instead of 7 signs + insanity..... I still get 2-shot in siege for 60-70k damage a pop with knights on.
NC plays on this. They also give timed rewards, a common vegas tactic where machines in busy areas have their volume turned up and frequent small wins given so more people hear someone winning, so they waste more money chasing the win.
They really don't need to either, it's not like these prizes actually cost them anything, it just makes players unhappy to buy ncoin.
Just to add to the above: I now seriously have to consider quitting L2.... it's always been a bad time sink, but the scam events have made it also have a hugely negative impact on finances.
However much you enjoy something you have to drop it when it starts becoming a life killing disease.

It's not really like that at all.... you see a big list of items to win, some "jackpot" many 2nd jackpot... you see a few people winning these... you'd expect after spending 1'000s of dollars that you'd win at least 1 sub jackpot item. If you had 1'000 spins on roulette with a chip on the same spot each time, you'd expect it to come in at least once.
Let's put it another way.... I used to work at a fairground on the "knock the bottles off, win a teddy" stall.... now these are all possible, but they are rigged to throw the odds just like these ncstore event scams. You deliberately rig them to pull in punters and make $$.
Say you go to one of these stands, you spend $1, but you don't knock the bottles off the ledge, you end up spending $5 and still don't win. Another person comes and spends $2, on his second go he clears all the bottles and wins a teddy. You see this and spend another $10 without success, another person comes and wins off $3..... this continues until you have spent $100 without winning.
Now whilst you may see this as bad luck/skill it generally isn't, the stall owner has probably just been adjusting the position of the bottles to make it near impossible for you to win. He makes it easier for others to win as he keeps track of money taken/prizes given and gives out some prizes to keep punters coming. Every time you've played of your $100 you've had virtually no chance of winning.

Food for thought for sure. Thank god I don't have a gambling issue. I spent $10 in the beginning of this event and got nothing worthwhile but they're tactics definitely suck you in when you hear of other people winning the big items. Everything in this game is a gamble... over-enchanting weaps/armor, compounding jewels/fortune pockets, etc, etc. Right now my achilles heel is sapphire lvl 4. I have 2 lvl 2's, and an extra 3 in my warehouse. If I try for that lvl 4 one more time and it fails... well, let's just say I'm glad I don't have a baby to throw out with the bath water. :p

Seriously though, think of the event like a slot machine. You are walking in a casino and you see someone hit the jackpot on a machine, cash out and walk away. It's foolish to sit down at that same machine and put money into it because it isn't going to hit the jackpot for you.

As the rewards are not guaranteed, you shouldn't have expected anything in first place, let alone abundance or kelvim wpn.
On the other hand I know 3 ppl that didn't spent a dime that for Kelvim and 1 got Abundance.
