Gearing up Priorities (Help?)

General Discussion Started Last reply 13 posts
Intro: For the past year I've been really concentrating on my gear, and have made more progress than ever before (prioritizing hunting/instances/raids for money rather than exp). I've been gearing up in the order of cheapest/highest chance of success, with more expensive / lower chance of success things are pushed farther down the list.

But it's hard to keep up on all the items in Lineage 2, so I compiled a list of what I have and what I plan on getting. I can rely on about 2b per month, so a 12b item is 6 months out, but doable.

My question: Is there anything I'm missing, and what should I prioritize. Is longing worth 5b? Is a +6 eternal set worth 5b? These things show on the outside and make your character glowy, but are they worth it? Or should I save for a Baium Soul?

Archer btw

Nice setup actually. No way you could get any of that without being a cheater/scripter/NCoinLover!! (Sarcasm, please no deleteorino!)

The +6 set is a good upgrade that kills two birds with one stone (Evasion/Mdef) which is huge for an archer. I think that would be first, and gives added pdef/mdef/evasion against mobs as well, since you said you're not trying to pwn noobs. Is it a huge bonus? Not really but everyone knows most things in l2 aren't. It takes lots of little things to finish a toon

With the money you gave (12b/6months) you now have some extra money to go for a longing but I would personally want baium soul or dyes before that whichever you prefer.

I'm unsure of dye price at the moment or what server you're on, but when you hit "X" number of a stat point, you can reach breaking points. With STR its 121 or 125 or something? The baium soul gives more mdef, and has stun attack/Resistance which is also huge for an archer in everything.

Just my two cents, I don't get to play my archer much =/

101?
No way you could get any of that without being a cheater/scripter/NCoinLover!!If you want to know what I'm doing to produce that, you can pm me, but anyone with a calculator and record-keeping skills should be able to figure out where the money is.

Oh yes, I should research that. I'm mildy embarassed to say I have DEX on my archer right now (+5 -2 cheap ones so w/e). She's STR 109 / DEX 74 / CON 81. I max attack speed easily and even have 1200 with Oly buffs.

Thanks!
Considering that the +8 gear is getting cheaper, might be a good idea to save some adena and go for +8 set first. If you want a pvp one might be a good idea to check for blessed/bloody +8 parts.

It was sarcasm, hence the quotes that say sarcasm? Unless you're saying others could pm you, I have no issues with your money situation :p
Armor +4 Eternal set 120 ele <- this one should be changed, tbh, nowdays it doesn't matter if you wear a +8 TW or a +8 eternal...they're pretty much the same, but you can pvp/pve the eternal,so if you can afford it,you should get a +6/8 eternal when you can

Weapon Kelbim Bow

Necklace +4 Frint Soul

Earrings +4 Istina // +4 Blessed Zaken

Rings +5 Ant Queen Soul // +4 Octavis Warrior

Brooch Lv 4 Diamond // Lv 4 Pearl // Lv 4 Opal // Lv 4 Ruby // Lv 4 Obsidian

Belt +4 Gustav's Belt

Talisman Lv 11 Venir // Lv 1 Abundance // Annihilation <- Well with 2b per month, you really should update the Annihilation, and eventually take a 7S

Shirt +3 Octavis

Dyes 3x +5 -2

The new COC earring gives 40% stun defense and 40. stun atk (which is not sure if it's 40. or 40%,but i guess it wont be bad either if it's just 40...maybe is even better (?)) and gives 10% CP,i'd rather change the bless zaken for it instead of istina, doing so you'll increase a bit your m.def

Baium soul ring, nice m.def i guess, but why wasting 12b into it? you're a yull archer, you hit with skills, and your skills aren't influenced by crt dmh rings (only daggers' blows are),so if you're not going to get it for it's stun+mental atk/resistance bonus, you'd be better focus on something else with 12b (+8 eternal or anakim+longing for example)

And wow,if you can do 2b x month lemme know how, even if i left naia it wont be bad to know some tricks for fun :D
Soul Baium is not an option as you're.First invest in Longing, it gives bonuses that outweigh most other things, like 30% reflect resist, skill power, clarity....

Secondly, get a better set, you probably won't be able to buy longing and +8 set, but if you can, then go for it .If not just get a +6 one.Later resell and get +8.

The dyes should be your last priority and the DEX ones you have will do good.Imo don't touch then for now.

The other upgrades can wait.
you are damage dealer, not half killer - change your dyes to str
keep your rings, that`s 30% crit damage and with minds eye you can see the big difference when you to to full str
get +8 set for the cooldown reduction and Patk from the top (you may want to get blessed top for more) don`t focus on r99 always since if you don`t want to put pve on it it`s almost the same as r95, but much more expensive
for necklace - bles valakas or octavis warrior (flat % Patk)
if you find someone willing to exchange pve bow (with similar Patk) with your kelbim - do it - it`s 15% damage on pve vs 15% more crit damage (and you don`t crit always)
when you get another weapon that allows augumentation you may be lucky with Elemental power, Crit damage, PvE damage, skill critical damage and the list goes on and on

by "building my char" i understand to reach the maximum of your current setup and doing the best possible to be as much as you can usefull for your party group (or solo). maximizing the base for your CD skills (Minds eye for example) will give you the biggest boost, and perhaps more fun

Important!!! Some items may have different prices in your server, chose wisely and don`t follow my lead blindly
It was sarcasm, hence the quotes that say sarcasm? Unless you're saying others could pm you, I have no issues with your money situation :pYes I meant that people could show some initiative and pm me, because my tips include spending 1hr/day leveling alts, and that takes effort and dedication. Pro's know 2b/mo is child's play; try 20b/mo!

My Epic choices are always for the resists. The Zaken has mental/stun. The Baium Soul has stun/hold/mental. I've always thought the archer's stun shot was important, so stacking stun jewels seemed logical. Baium is pricey, but pricey just means patience to me.

I'm just concerned with the +8 sets and Longings and ++ weapons, that since they glow, people value them more than the benefits they give -overhyped, is the word. People are surprised the damage I can do considering I'm not glowing from every orifice.

I do like to do Olympiad, although I don't take it too seriously. I try to get a good blend of PvE/PvP items. I'm not ready to have different epics to swap in depending on who my Oly opponent is. But I wouldn't go so far as having a PvE bow either. The Kelbim was cheap, and has unusual SA's for a bow, which is refreshing.

It says "30" on the item. That is 30%? That does make Longing seem better then.
Archers are this updates top DPS flavor so ppl being surprised u do damage are just ignorant on the current game mechanics

btw if your focus is really on PVE then you don't need to maximize your stun/mental as much and should really focus on w/e increases your Patt.

My focus is obviously not on pure PvE. Why would I have all those resistance epics, a Lv 4 Obsidian, and a PvP Bow? However I'm not in a PvP clan, and I'm not one of those people who play this game purely to "make kids cry". If I were, some credit card action would be involved and I'd buy one of everything!

I just can't take the PvP seriously in a p2w game.
What no Shining Shirt? I'm not sure when the next event will be, but if you can replace the Octav shirt with a Shining Shirt that you enchanted to +7 or higher, you'll be happy.
