On average I spend at least 1 hour a day at Giran looking at the store prices and checking the 'Auction House' and every time there is event, this is how it feels like...
There is simply NOT ENOUGH ADENA in Circulation!
Everywhere I look, there are people who want to sell and who want to buy, but since there is not enough Adena in the server, it feels like people are having trouble selling their stuff to buy the stuff they need....
It feels like 2 x Adundance event sucked the server dry of adena...
I myself made 3 x LvL1 abundance using 3 x 2.5 billion for 100% chance...
I know someone who bought 80 x Lesser giant armor stones and made like
3 x +8 sets...but ended up selling them for less than the adena he invested in...I see a guy in Giran trying to sell his +12 dark retri and another guy + 12 bloody dual and some other guy with +12 bloody bow...all of them ridiculously cheap...but all the people who want to buy...can't buy them simply cuz there is not enough adena in circulation in the server.
They've been in Giran for more than 2 weeks now...still trying to sell their best gear far less than the price they got...
Is deflation a good thing in L2? I know the moment I spend money at Nstore it's real money lost forever, but I do so... to get the virtual money(adena) to live my fantasy in L2. But how many people will do this when they spend money at Nstore to get 10bil worth of gears and 6 months later they are not even 5 bil? Lack of adena is also creating an illusion among high level players that they need to sell their stuff fast and get out of this game...which really adds to the vicious cycle.
The world economy is doing bad...and so many people suffering in real life tying to make a living...and they come to this world L2 looking for Happiness...but they realize...it's the world also suffering with deflation and poor economy.
Next time there is Nstore event, I just wish they include 1 billion coins(random reward like valakas soul bottle or AQ bottle) so that people will have adena to accelerate the whole buy and sell process...
right now...it's so slow....3-4 days or sometimes weeks to sell something...even at good price...The more Adena people have = faster they can buy and sell = faster they will buy more from Nstore.
I still have 6,800+ Rgems(from the event 6 months ago..LOL) Divine scrolls...etc...unless I can sell them fast, I don't think I will be buying more from N-store...(unless I see something real good)
Another way of looking at it is a lot of people procrastinate on selling old gear and event items that pile up in their warehouses. They make alts to store items on even. Then there's an item they want but they can't afford because their money isn't liquid. You have to be selling things all the time your AH needs to be full and you need to have a shop or two up. Then you will have actual adena available.
How much you say again you have sitting in your WH if you were to sell it?

There are more and more gears being released by Nstore and Hero coins(40 hero coin = 1 Tw armor LOL) whereas total Adena in the server keeps decreasing for the reason you described above...Everything is in Supply and Demand relationship. More Boss Jewels! more Armor sets! more Weapons! Hyper inflation is bad but Deflation is worse...It makes people with adena not to spend their adena at all, cuz the more they hold onto their adena the more valuable it will be. They keep on thinking they can get things superCheap later...It just slows down the whole Buy and Sell Process and eventually Nstore purchase will slow down too cuz People already got WAY~too much stuff in their warehouse...I myself have got about 50-60Bil Items to sell...LOL
In business, you shouldn't be short-sighted. You must be willing to spend $1 dollar to gain $10 dollars! that's called investment.

Uhm you are wrong because it is all relative values. What you are claiming is cheap +12 retributer isnt actually cheap by any stretch of the imagination. I am sure they want well over 3-4 billion for it. If you are a legit player you can play ALOT and not make 5 billion in a year, hell NOT EVEN CLOSE to 5 billion.
If they make adena drop more those "cheap prices" will just go up as there is more adena so they charge more. Those people are unable to sell thier items because the prices are NOT CHEAP. If they were actually cheap you would have bought them and in turn resold for a profit. you didnt because they are not cheap.

It is a vicious circle new players cant make enough money to buy items as they level, no items drop so only way to get item to keep you wanting to play it to buy something, but everything is soo expensive because everyone is greedy because well only way to get adena is from selling stuff, new players quit when they realize they just played for 6 months goto level 91 and they have still only the mentor garbage R gear and have 200 million adena.

I spend 1 hour per day farming instances with alts and it is actually more fun than the same mindless grind on my main. Zaken at least has some variety.

I understand there are 2-Different-Types of L2 players, i.e. N-Store shoppers and Non-shoppers. To do well in L2, you need to be willing to do one of 2 things, that is...either Spend Money at N-store or Spend Extra Time farming. If a player doesn't want to do either of them, but complain about how poor they are...it just doesn't make sense to me. That's just laziness.
I don't think L2 as it is now, Truly Free, is intended to provide everything for Free. You get to play for free to experience the World of L2, but to get the normal Adena + item drops, you need Prestige pack, 1200Ncoin a month = $15 USD which is not so bad. Still, the game is playable even without Prestige pack, just takes extra time longer to get what you need. I know someone who's got +7 bloody weapon, +6 eternal set, Longing, AQ soul, Baium, etc. simply by playing the game, although it took him years of playing to get all that...
I just Spend money at N-store cuz I don't have a lot of time to play and certainly not enough time for farming. I sometimes wish the game is Subscription base again, so that I don't need to pay as much as I do now.

good example is Garden of Genesis. XP/SP was cut like 1/4 while adena amount/mats drops still the same. Perfect for bots to stay forever there and terrible for any player.
tower of insolence adena amount went from 4000~5000 to 40, 50 adena.
other places like monastery of silence from 40k to 400.
EG from 40k to 4k (then up 20% lol. 20% from the nerfed amount)
and you keep buying nccoins like crazy.
everything will only get worse.
