Yea im not trying to win a beauty contest I just think we should be able to customize our characters. Why add in all of these customizable appearances yet leave out the ability to toggle cloaks? As an orc my cloak takes up half my **** screen when boxing.

Nobody's forcing you to wear them. If you don't like how they look, sacrifice the stats and don't wear one.
I don't see how adding a toggle would negatively effect your gameplay. Its not that important to me but I would like to see it implemented and no I will not stop using cloaks.
Well if the issue for you is that it takes up too much of your screen while boxing, the answer is clear. Do not show cloaks. It's the obvious answer for you. You still have your stats, and yeah other people will still see it..but it will no longer be obstructing your view, you giant orc you.

Clearly the concept is too difficult to understand, I'll reiterate.
Similar to how hair accessories are toggled on/off.
This should put everything into perspective for you.
