My Analysis of L2 8 x Class

General Discussion Started Last reply 22 posts
1. Othell: 95% single Target, 5% AOE; Best PvP class on 1 vs 1(not including Sayha Seer), Good Single target PvE

2. Yul: 70% single Target, 30% AOE(if you stack -10%,-20% Re-use time stuff like +8 set, -10% necklace, etc then AOE becomes decent); good for Solo, party, PvP but not the best in any of them

3. Tyrr: 100% single target, 100% AOE depending on gear set-up; most fun PvE class but PvP is bad at the moment...

4. Feoh: 50% single target, 50% AOE; excellent for solo or AOE party if you are rich enough to get Blessed valakas + 10% M.atk +3 int hat..etc.
Best PvE class for the rich(1 Blessed spirit shot = 800 adena OMG)
for pvp...Feoh is glass...sadly at the moment but if you are Godly rich enough to get +8 darkset, +5 diamond, abundance lvl 4, Seven sign talisman then yeah...go for it!

5. Summoner: best solo class, you can solo your way all the way to 99 and beyond, decent for party play as well but not AOE... Best for solo PvE but worst toon for PvP

6.Iss: toon made for party play, and also self buffing! Play this class if you wanna play one and only one toon and you like to party and solo at the same time.

7. Aeore: another toon made for party play, in fact party only...but healers are so rare in high levels that you will find a place in party in no time- least wait time for party

8. Tank: good tanks are so rare in high level, Main leading class in party and raid but requires a lot of patience.

Best Main/Dual Combo if you play 4 toons and want to experience everything in L2.

1. Yul + summoner: share the armor

2. Feoh + Aeore: share both armor + weapon 100%

3. Tank + Iss: again share gear 100%

4. Tyrr + Othell: can share the light armor set but tyrr is best with heavy armor...but if you are rich enough to get +8 light set and other stuff, this is good combo.

but tyrr + Iss or Othell + Yul, or Othell + Wynn summoner should be good also.

Not Tank + Tyrr...Tank = defensive heavy and Tyrr = Attack heavy type, i.e. they share gear 0%

Least Expensive to most Expensive

Wynn Summoner: you can have ghetto gears and still do good damage but the down-side is...no matter how much adena you pour in, you get just little better
---> healer: you get to play in a party and spend a fraction of what other classes spend for shots; you gears don't matter much, only your skill and understanding of healer class matter.
----> Iss: just need a decent heavy armor set to start ---> Tank: need a good armor set, weapons don't matter------> Yul: good bow all you need -----> Othell: good weapon + armor set needed(since close-melee class, you need a good armor set, too) ------>Tyrr: need weapon + armor + boss Jewels like AQ + Baium at least(but Tauti + Earth Wyrm rings are the best) since 99% of your damage comes from normal attacks----> Feoh Need everything to be good Nuker + 800 Adene per shot! LOL (play feoh if you are willing to spend 10B in spirit shots for LvL99! LOL)
Othell best in solo pvp, and yul not the best in any of them?
Come on :p Do you play with your eyes closed?

Kind of stopped reading this thread seriously after that, but tank can dual a tyrr just fine.
You're either..
a) In a average set, so it wont really matter.
b) In a stacked pvp set, so you can afford those 5 million adena to switch when you want to play tank or vice-versa.

For AOE PvE: Well geared Tyrr does more AOE damage with a good spear weapon normal attacks than Yul's AOE Skill Attacks, also Feoh's AOE becomes Non-stop and does far more damage than Yul, I've Seen LvL100 Feoh Single shotting K95 mobs with 1 x AOE skill)

For PvP, with same gear and same player skill, Othell >> Yul.
Othell wins 70% of the time and Yul wins 30%.
The only PvP situation where Yul is good is Group PvP, where Yuls can focus their attacks. Yeah... Yul is the best for Siege type of fights.

As for Tank/Tyrr, say you are leveling at Gainak Villiage LvL97+ and sometimes you are there as tank but some other times you are there as DD. The mobs at Gainak villiage are so tough, even good tanks can't just stand there and tank, they need to circle around...So can you really change your sets everytime you go from Main to Dual and vice-versa and make that trip to BlackSmith, click to Unequip 5 x items one by one, click the blacksmith NPC---> Choose R-grade option ---> change R-grade option and do this 5 x times then equip them again?
Forget about 5 mil, such a hastle and inconvenience and time waster, don't you think so?
Is it a viable option to play ISS with a light set? As to make the combination Yull-Iss cheaper? I prefer to have a support class for the clan. But having to invest in a proper heavy set, might make me reconsider.

I used to play it in light armor in GoD, but I've seen a post recently about armor masteries being changed.

Any opinions on this matter?

No good yul is going to lose to an othell with the same adena value in gear.
Just not happening, if you're comparing fresh awakened people dueling, sure.. othell is pretty straight forward, 2 noobs fighting ofc the othell will win.

Casual/pve?
Yep light is just fine.

Pvp, you'll need heavy to stay alive

+8 light set for ISS is good, especially for Hyrophant and DoomCryer LvL101, they can use their LvL101 Buff skill without Delay (with -10% re-use time Necklace like FrinTezza or Istina)

It's good that you take so much pride playing Yul, I can respect that.
I am not saying it is impossible for Yul to win over Othell in 1 vs 1 PvP. I am just saying the odds are at Othell's favor; but I think it all comes down to each player's skill.

Nah I dont really take much pride into playing yul, especially now that we're 1 hit wonders. lol.
Im just saying, the best yul is not going to lose to the best othell, so saying othell is the best 1v1 isnt accurate.
But then again, the best tyrr isnt going to lose to a yul, or othell :o

Thx for the feedback both of you.
For now it's mostly/merely for pve yes. Doubt i'll be doing much pvp with it till 99+. After that getting a somewhat decent R99 hvy should be doable.

My ISS dual (lvl 90) is a spectral dancer atm though, so I might have to change it to Hierophant or DC anyway. I'll have to check within my clan whether or not there is a lack of ISS'.
To dreamseeker, you're wrong and will definitely wrong.. yul is nowadays a pvp god.. specially the GS... to znipoo.. tyrr wins yul? I doubt that... ever heard of counter instinct plus abundance lvl 4 plus masters rage trigger??.. do the math...

So far ive seen a damage on a full stack toon of 400k....:D

yeah LvL 101 GH skill 15% skill damage + 15% abundance skill + Battle rapsody + Bull's eye on the target + Crippling debuff on the target + etc....+ PinPoint Shot Crit! ON Average Player toon will give you that much damage.

This is not the everyday situation, but I wonder how much damage Yul can pull without BR expecially on a toon with +8 Dark Set + LvL4 Abundance Talisman + LvL5 Diamond + seven sign Talisman + LvL 5 Obsidian + CoC belt.

It's kinda funny, all Yul needs to do good damage is a good bow like Dark bow or Kelbim but to defend againt that...to have everything mentioned above...it's kinda ridiculous! LOL

Tyrr class seems to survive for a long time in a Siege War, but there is a good reason! People just ignore the tyrr class cuz they do almost no damage! LOL, so they create an illusion that they don't die easily...Well they have nice Damage for PvE but the game of L2 is designed in such a way that if a player moves just 1 step, then you can't hit! LOL. I wish all toons on L2 can move and hit at the same time but it is what it is I guess...
3. Tyrr: 100% single target, 100% AOE depending on gear set-up; most fun PvE class but PvP is bad at the moment... That's 200%!! You'd have to be more specific since Tyrr's are sort of broad. Even at that, I wouldn't say 100%, but I see your point. My titan for instance, although not continuous aoe, still does ok with several aoe skills to debuff, stun, and do damage, along with provoking the entire room in a kartia. The skills in my opinion are so good in a party, I don't even use my pole half the time, as the group damage from it isn't even noticeable, so I stick with my slasher. I could see maybe for other than a Dread, maybe 70/30 single/aoe. I'm sure this will be argued, but it's about the % I do every day. Dread on the other hand may be more like 85/15, because they can still hit single targets somewhat effectively.

Also for main/dual combo... I do enjoy the Tyrr as odd as that sounds. I've rerolled my dual a handful of times, but of all I've tried, I like my Yul the most. I haven't put my main in light yet, but after I get my Yul up to 99 I may experiment with that. I originally did ISS, but hated that since I already have a box...tried healer, but to me, that's just not a fun class....tried Wynn because it levels fast (and it did), but really a lame class to play.....did dagger for a short time, but I already have an alt dagger....landed on Yul and plan to keep it.
Othell best in solo pvp, and yul not the best in any of them?

Kind of stopped reading this thread seriously after that.

I stopped reading after I read the title. 8 classes.

People think WR is a mage. Amazing.
to OP end game archers will destroy end game daggers/stacked mages

most of your comments on the classes is right except for the archer part as they really are THE PVP class right now, in the latest Korean update Tanks get enough boosts to destroy the Archer class again but until then Archers > all when stacked & properly played

btw I compare end game players as they are/were on Naia where Wrath versus Nova pvp would just wipe out any other clans regardless of servers - Naia server polictics/balance has changed alot the last 2 weeks but the above point still holds true.
This is not the everyday situation, but I wonder how much damage Yul can pull without BR expecially on a toon with +8 Dark Set + LvL4 Abundance Talisman + LvL5 Diamond + seven sign Talisman + LvL 5 Obsidian + CoC belt.

right now alot, random Nova party that I was in completely destroyed the most stacked Mage party on NCWest, DragonHunters ExeQtor party which has 103/4 mages in +10 dark armors and better gear then you listed etc. and we kept them out of AF for hours until Gainax was up and he left to farm for his $$ - the Nova party DPS was 1 archer 101, 1 100 & 1 mage 102 and that was enough.
I like threads like this, they illicit a lot of feed back.

Here are some of my own thoughts on the topic:

I think Yul vs. Dagger can actually go either way (slight advantage to Yul ATM). Yes Yuls are stupid OP ATM but assuming it is a straight forward fight (Yul isn't ganking with BR then BSOEing) then I really think it is close to 50/50. Yul's have 1 minute of GOD MODE but after that the advantage swings to Othell.

Here comes my highly controversial statement that I am sure will spawn righteous indignation from the community! Assuming comparable gear/lvl/skill AND the Tyrr is SETUP FOR PVP (experienced Tyrrs will know what I mean) then it will beat everything in a 1v1 except a Seer. Yes, that includes Yuls......

First off there are VERY VERY VERY few truly stacked Tyrrs. Maybe 10-15 on an entire server. Conversely, there are easily 100+ Stacked FOTM yuls (estimates for Chronos/Naia). Also, when I say "stacked" I don't mean the best of EVERYTHING. I am thinking along the lines of the generally accepted definition of end-game gear (lv4 Gems, lv1 Abun, Long, 7s, Dark weap/armor, lv100+, 10+ skills). Yes there are a handful of players that have everything but they are the rare exception, even among endgamers (lv5 Gem Sets, lv4 Abun, +15 Weap, +9 Shirt, Insanity, etc.). With that said, it should be obvious that end game Yuls are encountering non-endgame characters disproportionately as a result of there FOTM status. This scenario is even more pronounced when discussing Yul vs Tyrr. In other words, end game Yuls are rarely fighting end game tyrrs.

Not going to go into how a fight would/could unfold but I will say this about an endgame Tyrr. The Tyrr will have been 18-20k Pdef, 40k+ p.attack, 120k+ HP, 40k+ CP, and 135+ STR.

To Brosh, if you are AOEing on a Titan with skills you are not using the class properly. Tyrrs are a white damage class in PvE.
the only Tyrs I see that pull off are DN & Doombringers due to their disable in combo with survivability & reasonable ok dps

this is assuming both have POM and not BR active
You all forgot about the RPG model of the game
there is no best char w/o buffs

I think you're judgement is clouded because of the LACK OF endgame Tyrrs. This isn't to say that Tyrrs are awesome, the opposite actually but if someone is crazy/stubborn enough to drop tons of cash/adena into one then they are (IMO) the best 1v1 class out there. This applies to all the Tyrr classes to a greater or lesser extent.

Hell, I am the WORST Tyrr in game (lv 100 Warsmith) with middle class gear but when I spec for PvP I can beat equaled geared archers in 1v1. The caveat being that I have to know what I am getting into and have AP/gear setup accordingly.
any pro player could help a newbie choose a class? last time i played was GoD.
i want to know all about yul tyrr othell and summoner classes...i want to know
1. how they do in pvp solo and group
2.how they do in pve solo/group and leveling.also how much they are wanted in parties.
3.how fast in hours one can lvl [to 85 and 90]without premium..i will play on naia being from the EU.

ty in advance
To Brosh, if you are AOEing on a Titan with skills you are not using the class properly.

Yeah you're probably right...I'm not sure why they even give skills to Titans, or any classes for that matter. Oh wait, I think I know why...to USE them. But anyways, you're reading my vague answer too literally. I was referring to a daily Kartia that lasts like what, 15 minutes? Of course skills get used lol. Half the time if a Tyrr of any kind doesn't use skills, they don't even get a chance to do much in a good group that aoe's the crap out of the waves. Come on now, don't assume I'm referring to hard core long aoe parties. You acted smarter than that in the beginning, don't disappoint me.

Prepare for loaded answers in this forum...any question regarding "what's best" always sparks quite a bit of forum fighting, and never really getting the answer you want. First and foremost, for any of the 3 questions you asked, to even remotely get a close answer, you have to include a very important element. Are you looking to play 100% free?; Are you planning spending moderate amount of cash ($5-$50 a month)?; Or are you a big spender that really has no limit? Without knowing your level of financial input, the answer will be nowhere near correct for you. Sorry.
