A Korean friend of mine just told me that Nexon, the online Game Company in Korea(inventor of P2W system) has finally given up their 15% share of NCsoft!

The game of Lineage2 used to be Monthly subscription based; but Nexon came along, took 15% NCsoft Stock...(making them the biggest share holder) and then changed everything..., my friend told me.
An online gambling company really, he said.

I am just wondering what will the future be for L2......
NCSoft is making a pretty large profit every year, earlier this year nexon wanted to purchase more stocks/share in NCSoft.
Dont see why they would make such a sudden change of heart.. who is this friend?

The situation at NCsoft became too complicated. Check my posts from here onwards:

As to the stock sale last Tuesday, you will find the precise numbers and original links here:

Could this possibly have anything to do with NCwest being able to have these NCwest exclusives?
The sale of stock and the recent exclusives seem to occur around the same time. Maybe NCwest will get a little more freedom in implementing new things in L2? One can only hope.
Basically yes, even though it's not as simple. The relationship between NCsoft and Nexon had started to sour in January this year, when the latter wanted to take over the day-to-day operations of the former:

The NCWest exclusives are based on Korean models. Over there they had daily missions in previous events, and the clan rewards are based on the Attendance Check in Korean Classic:

So development did not start from zero, but it also took some time.

Giving more weight to NCWest started in May, when they hired a number of additional executives for their Californian offices:

So it has been coming for quite some time. Let's see how things will develop in the future :)
