Goodbye L2

Well, because of negative reports in the community, Lineage 2 is no longer on Steam. This means I can no longer play Lineage 2. Saying that, I will say it is not Steam's fault: it's NCSoft's. How can you possibly run a game for 10 years or more with so many Game Guard issues, bots, scammers, and hackers? I used to enjoy playing this game years ago, but it has turned in a bad way. I cannot download the NCSoft Launcher. I have tried several times and have had nothing but problems getting it to not only download, but work at all.

As a final word of advice before I take my leave, to the people scripting and botting to gain in game things to sell for real life money, not only is it against terms of service, it's against the law. According to the Online Copyright Act of 1994, all online materials are owned by their creator and cannot be reproduced nor sold without express permission by the owner. That means EVERYTHING in Lineage 2 is owned by NCSoft and if you are selling in game things for real money, that is copyright infringement and you are looking at thousands of dollars in fines and possible prison time. Now the REALLY bad news: If you are botting or scripting in order to gain items to sell for real money, not only is it copyright infringement, it is also considered HACKING. In the US, this is considered a FEDERAL OFFENSE and you can face up to $100,000 and up to 8 years in Federal Prison. If you're lucky, you get probation which means if you so much as sneeze at a smartphone for the next ten years, you serve the maximum penalty of 12 years Federal Prison.

If you think I'm BSing you, you don't know the US Government. Think about that when you are botting or scripting to sell things for money.

See ya, I'm going back to Playing World of Warcraft and waiting for Blade and Soul. Maybe NCSoft can do a better job with B&S.
Lol, its true. No longer on Steam.

The root of all problems in l2 was always and will ever be bots.
If you think it all throught, its all about bots ******* the game. Every single aspect of any problem is caused by bots.
But hey, they still think bots means the game is healthy. Sace said that years ago.

Well deserved.
I hope juji will keep this game running till update with +10 set bonuses, then he can shut servers down

Any Official news?
Im agree, but u must know, that a lot of bots and hackers isn't NCSoft bad.
You never, never protect from bots. There is always way to hac.k the game and these players always will ruin whole MMORPG. Sad but true.
But I proposes to increase control over selling items from real money - on game and on internet auctions. This is needs to be done, and it can be done. But NCSoft must be more involved.
Btw. Gl, I also back to WoW :)
Since I've returned to the game and play on Win10, I have no issues with Gameguard.
If it does block me, I cancel out, go to Task Manager services, find any reference in there to L2, GG etc. close it and try again.

I would suggest any other GG issues are down to individual computer security settings.

As for bots, well the only real answer is active in game GMs nuking them. For some reason NCSoft don't seem keen on this.
Well if this isn't an eye opener I don't know what else is.
The game should still be available through Steam for players in North America, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. If you've had it installed through Steam and aren't able to play, or are in one of these areas and are unable to find the game listed, please let us know.

If you're having trouble installing or downloading the client through our website you can visit the support page here to put in a ticket - https://lineage2.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/.

Regarding bots and hackers, Juji addressed some of those issues in his Q&A thread here - http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=286982

I just really want my hand held right now. I'm needy
If they were SERIOUS about taking care of bots, this would never got close to happen:
176b for sale that day.. seriously..

Well, food for 3 years.
See ya, I'm going back to Playing World of WarcraftBuh-bye
NCSOFT - You need to take a look at the new race starter area, its called faeron village I believe.
There is a never ending stream of newly created characters (with garbage names) running the first series of newbie quests.
I went through the quest chain only to level 8 and already had 70k in my pocket, took like 5 minutes.

There are simply too many bots to report. I think you need to reduce the quest rewards and limit the amount & respawn of those training dolls.
It should discourage this type of behavior.
The number of Training Golems on Talking Island (the corresponding thing for non-Ertheias) was increased on November 18th to give everybody, player and bot alike, a chance to complete the Newbie Quest:

This is the current policy and I doubt they will change it for the Ertheia starter area.

The main problem are not the quest rewards, however, but the newly introduced Daily Rewards specific to the export version of the game. The Shirts and Belts given out for free can be sold to NPCs for adena, and if a bot does only two quests per day it gets a chance at a Crystal R-Grade or a Gemstone R-Grade via the Quest Mania system every day. Now imagine hundreds of bots doing this.
I was almost so happy to learn that this game removed from steam..well they going to break the record for the most negative reviewed game of all times if they didnt already.
Yidao i always see the trains of orc bots gather in front of pet manager in oren, naked and then log off and login back after some time.. weird
The ones in front of the Pet Manager in Oren are probably selling their D-Grade and C-Grade Belts and Shirts. I don't know on which server you are, but on Naia Oren often has 0% tax, so this would be a good place to sell, apart from being close to the quest locations.

I suspect that those bots are deliberately given names like Cpasldkjhfl or Tgsdhgwfi so that a casual observer won't spot the pattern, but my bet would be on them logging out after two quests and having gotten the reward box from Quest Mania, then logging in a new bot.
