I am lvl 89 Feoh MM and I already have ~1950 cast speed with lvl 1 iss buffs, WIT hair accessory and "recovery" robe set.
I think recovery robe set is better because it gives shock resistance instead of sleep resistance and +2 INT doesnt really change as much as +2 WIT, dose it? Specially because you have to quadruple M. att. to do double the damage.
It wont be too long before I get my hands on a venir talisman with +2 WIT and Octavis shirt that has a bunch of stats, including WIT aaand Seraph R95 set which has yet another +1 WIT compared to Twilight. Thats 4 WIT right there. Then if I take a different SA on my next weapon(*) and get Arias Bracelet with +3 WIT, im still back to max cast speed (or close to it)... even with lvl 1 iss buffs and not touching dyes :D
(*)+25% HP SA seems good, specially if I get +15 CON dyes. That would be ~74% more HP, I think, since my base CON is 38, so +15 CON is +39% and +25% on top of that base increase. uff.
Does this seem like a stupid idea? Should I just take INT hair accessory and "Magic" robe set and INT dyes and be done with it?
What about crit rate cap? It seems there is still some way to go for me to cap it at 320 and it wont be reached THAT easy, unless I get crit rate SA and crit rate subclass skills and what not ( again, I can choose something else).
And last, WIT is also increase debuff land chance, M accuracy, M evasion and M def rate - what are caps and usefulness for these and, again, is it worth going nuts on WIT?
Hmm, hmm. Well, going +15 con might be sacrificing too much damage, so I might go +15 INT, probably will.
But I am not quite convinced that WIT is useless. What about M. accuracy/ evasion and defense rate? You didnt mention those (usefulness and caps?). Going without Acumen so I can accommodate WIT hair accessory, bracelet, vernir, shirt and "recovery" robe set without going over the cast speed cap would also allow me to increase these stats. (and have, say, M. att. SA on wep (and M. crit. dmg. as a second SA? Or NOW I could take HP?) )
As Juji said in his Lab test 49 after receiving a response from the devs: "I'll put it in layman's terms. Magic Accuracy lands debuffs, while Magic Evasion counters them." I think thats huge - hell bind, fear.. I can get more accuracy from subclass skills and from one handed sword if enchanted to +4 (how much does this give?)
You'll be much stronger with Acumen SA and stacking INT than the other way around (Acumen gives the cast speed of ~10 WIT, M.Att SA gives the M.att of ~4 INT). Some stats in certain places are just more efficient than others, take them if you need that stat at all.
You'll reach a point endgame where if you just care about PvE/mass PVP, you can probably skip acumen and any WIT stacking to get max cast speed. But if you're going to choose one, always take acumen.
If you really want M.Accuracy, take it through sub skills and AP, again far more efficient there in terms of what you trade off.
OP, you r Elf base race, MM, why should you go for WIT when you already have almost everything that WIT should increase as high in comparison with another classes?
Change your robe to Magic type, get some INT tats, Matck/INT pendant (better if combo), and focus on increasing your m.crit dmg as much as possible, along with your m.accuracy/m.crit rate (which previous poster already explained how to, just read carefully), then go for increasing your mana pool - bcuz for feoh, instead of fighters, having a good mana pool means more survivability, just remember that as long as you can keep up with dmg through Arcane Barrier, you should be alive.
WIT and casting speed you should get through items, like accesories, talismans, SA, clan skills, buffs etc.
Some people like to trashtalk MM players, as they r probably the weakest feohs out there, but I just cant help to think that MM has the ability to land "destruction" debuff 100%, so that means a powerful combo of 2 most powerful feoh skills (elemental destruction + element buster) every 5s or so.
And like I always thought even when I played mages back in the day (I started with a SpH back then), playing a mage means you must kill anything before it gets closer to you (or at least it should be, in the early levels). As you r 89, just get some buffs and go to a loc where you usually farm (swampland, ie) and make the test "Am I able to ever kill that mob before it closes the gap of my 1100 range to hit me"? If your answer is yes, then keep it up, but if you for any reason cant do it, then you r doing something wrong and must review your tactic, playstyle and/or character setup.
What would be the typical, say, dark elf setup of base stat increase? They seem to be 150 ~~ 200 cast speed points below me. Do they still go for all INT?
All feohs do, actually. If not, well, what to say but pity them?
Well, byt itemization, you can rely on: aria's bracelet (3 WIT), combo pendant (WIT/matck 10%), octavis/istina shirt, power/elemental/shiny shirts, venir talismans, christmas talimans, dimensional warp bracelet (WIT up to +5), Lv5 Legendary INT dyes (which gives extra +1 WIT), exalted passive skills, alien nano buffs (WIT +6), fish stews (WIT +3), energy drinks (Omega3 gives WIT +10). Well, that's all I can remember of by now, maybe there's more.
But to say it simple: half items on the above list r even too hard to get/farm or too costy to pay for, that most players just give up. If you r looking for mcri rate/acc, well, that you can get directly (raw numbers) from AP and subclass skills, along with OE items.
WIT in this case plays more a role of landing/resisting debuff and magic skills succesfully, other than increasing purely casting speed and such. Lol, even Feoh SpH can enchant their Emp Echo for Acumen route, totally getting max casting speed even in Oly.
