Raid Boss Entry thoughts

Hi all , mods, admins and users...I would like your attention for a few moments please....

Juji you said on the News and Announcements in your thread being here http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=287522 : I extremely apologize for this late announcement on the raid boss zone changes. These should have been posted last year with the patch notes.

Point 1: If i am not wrong, last year these 45 or 49 ppl entries did not work (Infinite Odyssey). What are you talking about? After Underground only Lindvior was "free to port" with 49 ppl and Octavis/Istina/Tauti normal as well as Balok we could port with a Command Channel of 5+2 = 7 ppl. Baium, Anakim, Lilith and rest was until 2-3 weeks ago that we checked 98+ ppl. Suddenly it becomes 45+ around the moment that a farmer realizes that he cannot outperform our ally activity....I really wonder why you changed the port numbers being for 10 years like that, fact which was constantly demanding strong clans, ,many people in alliances, etc etc..... These are issues that make the game stronger, keep allies united, promote relationships of the people behind the characters - toons and make ppl keep up fighting for their PvE purposes and rest goals in game as well.

Point 2: Where is the ZERG of the people required for Valakas, Antharas, Lindvior and rest dragons? Why do you deprive the PvE clans with the majority of the people in there from the chances they had to enjoy the game? It is obvious that a PvE ally with many people can just come online a nice weekend and farm dragons or schedule them on their respawn and this is their fun in game. They can do these because they had the numbers.

This doesnt mean that PvP clans must not do it. THey should try to do it , but look! They do not have the numbers anymore and focus on other purposes in game, so the PvE clans farm these because PvP clans don't push harder, quit the effort because they just cannot outnumber the rest. To speak the truth, towards reaching 98 people to port, we always had those live people required to do it. But the PvP clans were BORED to do it because they can take the items from events. But for PvE allies and clans, this was a big rescue. Speaking of a strictly PvP clan living with "military orders", it is easy for a clan of 33 people to have 3 toons each so that they can make 99 toons, instead of us having 1 toon or max 2 each. Our Command Channels in the PvE section are and were with 84 live minimum and 14 box-afk maximum for an extra BR or whatever . On our full ally activity we surpass the 160 live players for any big event like that.

IN a 2005 until the Awakening ERA, Dragons and Baium were SYMBOLS OF POWER. Control Dragons - Baium - Catacombs - Frintezza ---> Control the game and have power. However, these don't mean much anymore because you do not need baium for subclass or the Noble RB in VoS etc anymore. Even for Beleth - exalted quest everyone can be in the safe zone and teleport the COmmand Channel with an untagged toon ahahhaha LOOOOL. Trasken in Town - safe zone too and guess what! if you dont do trasken , you can do ARmed CC runs. CAREBEARISM. I miss the old days when the neutrals were begging for invite for baium to do subclass, not to mention for Noble RB that we killed on respawn so that enemies do not do it....And PvP with enemies every time....

What purpose does it serve to change the specific Raids number requirement NOW? Makes me wonder and think badly especially when specific Raid Boss farmers in Chronos which have been repeatedly reported for 3rd party software use from at least 3 clans continue to operate in full. Also, from the moment that you have Flooded the game with constant events that provide stuff, why do you proceed in that change which was the only happiness and good time for a big number of players?

Also players of high level and quality play hard with events and this gives them a great opportunity to play with the market and equip themselves adequately. By introducing this policy of 49+ people to port in raids you give the opportunity to 16 people to log 3 toons each and go farm EVERYTHING on the server, even steal the teleport momentum through the 3rd party software they are using, which can obviously DEPRIVE the people logging in with a normal client from porting in.

Keeping the 49+ port for Lindvior, I can understand, as its the top dragon and top jewel in game, PvP clans top item blablablablabla....But antharas valakas are flooded in the servers like peanuts.

Maybe one of the goals around this policy is that you want to promote competition on those raids and create another PvP opportunity for high-end clans. In that way, people will stop having "appointments" for PvP and they can secure a PvP spot every week or so in baium, anakim, lilith, antharas, valakas.

SOme of us though are not in war as clan policy and still want to do those. If the other clans do not want to PK us AND AS LONG AS you want to promote HEALTHIER and stronger competition in Dragons, Baium etc because this is what we like and this is the fun part in the end, PLEASE consider using NEW and STRONGER anti-porting securities against 3rd party software and their smart insta-porting configurations so that real and manual players can prevail against bots.

my 2 cents
cute but no any strong clan or group of players can kill Dragons, it's a known fact Dragons can be killed by just 1 party for a while (read years) now.. a fact Korea already knows and is going to be fixed in one of the next updates - min. CC will stay 49 thou ;)

what I do agree about though is all the carebear around those raids, the area with the npc's for porting to such raids should all become open pvp zones like when gainax is in war

this will promote more PVP and let's see how well PVE zergs will do versus 49 PVP players hmm ? :)

btw Korean's frown upon PK so they will never easy up on the PK penalties which is sad as that makes your comment about have PVP players PK us invalid and is in truth just you saying we want easy access to uncontested raids which would be fine if those raids were really uncontested eh ;)
The entry changed for cc is totally carebearism.

It should be back to the way it was before, individually.

Making the entrace instance like, forcing cc, onyl helps carebears that do 0 effort to figth the dragon.
I agree with the "Gainak in war" concept. Then yes it would be really fun. PvE zerg would have no chance against strong PvP clans but there would still be fun involved for all. However, what changes the story is when users of 3rd party software exploit the game so badly and the programs they use pick you automatically priority target when you get rezze'd and don't have noble buff yet, they can see you while on hide etc etc, facts and issues that all manual players suffer from and face when they come across 3rd party software users and exploiters.

The unfortunate issue about this whole story, is that they do not even bother making the dragons harder. Ok you can port with 49 people but then you would have a small chance to successfully complete it, or it would have to take you 3-4 hours or something when with top items. But when you port with 199 then obviously you could kill it in 1h instead of 20 minutes today with not even half of those people. Sometimes makes me think that it takes for it more to respawn after we inside rather than kill it once it's out. And think about it....it oversimplifies the process of farming those dragons when you establish a 49+ port availability towards efficiently defending private interests and the same time it devaluates the gaming and individual character qualities that kept big and strong clans, players and alliances together.

AS about the PK, it's good as is, so that Voo and rest can continue dropping quality items like Christmas trees....NC soft introduced PK scrolls and took Sin Eater away...SHould they make it more easy ? LOL . What I see is access to raids and events that low-activity clans or farmers could not have access to so far because the numbers / activity requirements were never fulfilled. On top of that, the users of 3rd party software exclude manual players from entering as their exploitations obviously include something close to insta-porting the milisecond the port is "up". This is something you could never achieve with the hand. So what are we talking about? the promotion of a rotten and unsound competition?

Don't twist my words. I am not looking for an "uncontested port spot. I do love competition. But a healthy one. I am confident that NC can deploy more protective strategies against 3rd party software insta-teleporting function in regards to the NPC for teleporting in beleth, dragons, baium, trasken etc etc. In that way, even if you use a 3rd party software there would be a "protective veil" that the development team could deploy that would not allow the game client through the 3rd party software to communicate with the game servers "in background" but would require actively real - time authentication once more for teleporting you in. In this way, if a well - disciplined Command Channel of 199 PvE'rs goes to the port spot, they can "win" against every body, being that the 49 PvP'ers or RMT farmers that would not have made it there in time or would be struggling to enter accordingly, because their 3rd party software is not able to communicate and authenticate with the Game Servers.
Even for Beleth - exalted quest everyone can be in the safe zone and teleport the COmmand Channel with an untagged toon ahahhaha LOOOOL.

It is not that easy as you describe it here. May be at your server(Chronos?)
But on many other servers and l2 territories it is just impossible.
Because top clans invite in Beleth CC only their clan and "friend" clans. If you are random or untagged - you have 0 chance to make this quest.
That is why there were a lot of requests to make changes into this and that is why Juji said there will be changes.
If you still don't get it - top clans use programs to auto-enter Beleth as soon as npc appears, legit randoms have 0 chance to win. Admins are not brave enough to just ban top pvp botters which brings them money, so they will simply remake quest... Same as they removed spoil from 85- or reduced adena drop to prevent botting, haha.
well what to say, there has always been some compassion against randoms and rest neutrals towards doing the exalted quest so they get an invite...Now with 49 ppl CC just any random clan may decide one Tuesday afternoon to go kill it...without PvP, without competition..

I can say that Draecke's proposal is quite attractive, making those port spots PvP zones like Gainak in War , maybe is a partial solution to the problem......Keep them 49 ppl yeah right but raise the difficulty level and ofcourse the HP level , like in Kartias and Baylor a few months ago hehhehe :P then those 49 brave warriors will have the time of their life in there like in the old days when dragons used to be and mean something...3 hours raid ....First Valakas Slain in NA Servers with 77 and 78 level toons ^^ GMB on raid leading....1,800 brez scrolls and yet too much deleveling....Fun times....

I don't like that. I say leave the port in spot as they are now.
What I'd prefer is the old school. You have 10-20 minutes or so where ANY CC can port in. Get rid of this max number nonsense for the instance, just cap the CC. Then make the raid area a siege style zone where each CC counts as a "side" (they can't hit/debuff each other).

I'd say give it like 5 minutes for people to port in. Then port ins are locked (standard 5-10 min if you are logged out you are booted out), and the raid spawns in 10-20 minutes.

None of this constantly porting in over and over BS, no outside help. Whoever is left standing gets the boss.

That's more like how it was back with anthy and vala back in the day and it was LOTS of fun.

Only one CC should get the kill/quest/loot, so it would promote competition, they couldn't just all port in and get it done.

If the PVE CC of however many people can beat the PVPers inside, then more power to them. If the PVP CC wipes the floor with the PVE CC, then they get to kill it.
If they both can't keep the other down, and it's nothing but messing with each other till the raid is failed, awesome, they need to learn, grow, and adjust.
