So here we are, finally, we have the new Lavien Rose Jewels and the new 5 slot Radiant Brooch. So expensive though, 12,000 Ncoins for 100 regular boxes + 10 special addiction boxes(plz, note my intentional Fraudian slip here, LOL) and 16,000 Ncoins for 5 slot Brooch! WOOT!
I hear so many people crying about high prices and I don't blame them. On average, to get LvL 5 Jewel it takes between 200-300 LvL1 Jewels. To get LvL 5 Amethyst, for example, you will need minimum 200 x LvL1 (New Op Jewels harder to compound I suspect, but let's say 200 will do the job). Now if you buy the 12,000 Ncoin sale package, you only get 10 x new Jewel boxes. There are some chances of getting the New Jewels from the normal 100 boxes. let's say 10% to be fair. so 12k Ncoins = 20 new Jewels and out of those 20, you will get 10 x Vitality jewels most likely but let's say you get 5 x Amethyst. still you will need to repeat the purchase 40 times.... so 40 x 12,000 Ncoins = 480,000 Ncoins for LvL 5 Amethyst! and this is the best case scenario! LOL! LvL 5 Amethyst = $6,000 USD, the best case scenario!
(In reality, easily $10,000 USD++ most likely)
I kinda like the fact that the new Jewels are so expensive. They are mostly for PvP and No one will have LvL 5! LOL! New LvL 5 Jewels are DRAGON JEWELS! I'd like to call them! They are like dragon weapons. They are possible in theory but almost impossible to get! LOL! Besides, if it's cheap for me it's cheap for everybody; and if it's expensive for me then it's expensive for everybody, so I don't think price matters that much for the Jewels.
I would've liked to include how I did with the New Lavien Rose Jewels but so many people seem to get upset when I show them how I did with the promos, so I will skip the "After xxx Ncoins..this is how I did" part this time.
I just wanna say one thing though. All Jewels have different Rate of Success Chance. Now Diamond and Pearl seem to have really good chance until LvL3. Yes. now you can make LvL 3 Diamond or Pearl with just 4 x LvL 1 jewels! and they are good! Whereas Ruby has about 35% success rate, even going for LvL2...and Opal is harder than Ruby and emerald even harder..LOL
Anyways, for most casual players, I'd like to recommend 1 adena 2 slot Brooch with LvL 3 diamond + whatever LvL3(LvL3 pearl is good) Well, 1200 Ncoin 3 slots and 2400 Ncoins for 4 slots(Best choice I think for most people who don't mind spending a little) are not so bad. Anyways, thank you Ncsoft for the Power of Love event! I was leveling my alt at "Field of Massacre LvL 61+" and with power of Love buff(2 x damage + max attack speed) + dragon buff, I did 8 levels in 1 hour! WOOT!
P.S. any chance you can make "Summon Friend Candy" permanent? They are really really convenient.

1) yeah, I suppose I can sell all other Jewels and trade All for Amethyst. I think I can probably get 10 x Amethyst LvL1 out of 12kNcoin pack. I got like 2-3 x Amethyst out of the 12kNcoin sale package on average. Still that's $3,000 USD provided I can make LvL5 with 200 x LvL1s. Anyways, thanks for pointing this out.
2) A little bit of Magic defense is good not just for PvP but also for PvE. This is why I suggested Diamond + Pearl for most average people. Extra physical Def + Extra Magic Def = always good choice. I didn't include Ruby or Sapphire cuz they fail a lot, even going for LvL 2 or 3. Most people will need like 10+ each to get LvL 3 Ruby or Sapphire and I know a lot of people in game who don't do Nstore at all.
3) The beauty of summon candy is, it can be used by any level toon, even LvL1! and it doesn't cost anything.

1. you didnt realise yet that a rich noob with tanza lvl5 cant die
2. tanza lvl5 has 30 sec reuse and 15 sec duration so the player is 50% of time perma cele vs a non rich char.

You got it totally wrong. It is the bot masters who are the main cause of ruining the game. They are the reason why adena drops and item drops are so DECIMATED in Low Level Areas and also boss raids like Zaken, cuz NCsoft wants to discourage botting.
I believe all bot masters were once very intelligent L2 enthusiasts who just used to love the game but Greed took over them and they started botting. First, 2-3 toons then 1 full party then...multi-parties...
I took a look at almost all LvL 1-LvL99 areas and I can see the damage they've done and the NCsoft's fight against bots. The adena and item drops only become good after LvL 99. I can even see some BOT-Designated Areas in an attempt to keep the bots there. Wall of Argos drops LvL4 Matts...YEs, Matts for R99 gears...LOL and wall of Argos = LvL 70+ area..GOG LvL 90+
3-4K adena per drop but very Low Exp per mob...meaning NCsoft wants to keep bots there...I think NC figures since they can't possibly kill all bots, they might as well negotiate...I am guessing.
Players like me, we only help pay for the game service also provide players with cheap items. Yeah Tanzanite and Cat's eye..etc. whatever...if it's game balance disturbing then again...not Nstore shoppers fault. It's the game designers who need to play L2 a little bit, understand the game better and make better Jewels.
Anyways it feels like you got some issues with some other Ncoin spenders but whoever they are, I am NOT them. Don't lash it out on me.
I guarantee you people will have level 5 of the top new jewels before long, if they don't already. Mostly by spending piles of adena to get others to buy the boxes for them. I doubt there are more than 1 or 2 people on any given server that will spend enough RL cash for ncoin to get a level 5 amethyst themselves unless you are counting some crazy lucky person who goes all the way to 5 with almost no fails.

With the current prices you could buy a 100 pack and sell every single other jewel box and still only afford a handful of Amethyst boxes (unless you got massively lucky with a ton of other expensive boxes).
Conservatively, a level 5 Amethyst will probably cost ~100B adena to make if you are lucky. (200 boxes at 500 mil each... which I see many selling for more).
The cost can, of course, go WAY higher than that.
But even at double, there are people who would absolutely pay 200B adena to get that item. And several would probably pay a fair bit more than that.
I opened 75 boxes, most of which I bought from other players in my cheap buy shop. Results? No brooches. No fragments. 3 Tanzanite, 1 amethyst, the rest were all the already existing jewels like Emerald, Diamond, Ruby, etc., that I don't need. Sold 'em. Moving on to next "event."

The chance to successfully combine two lvl 4 jewels into a lvl 5 one is somewhere around 5% (I saw the results of tests published on some site).
Since the chance of success at lower levels is about 50% (roughly) it means in average you need 9 lvl1 jewels to make one lvl3.
If we assume the chance of success at lvl 3 is the same as before (which is doubtful) you need 27 lvl1 jewels to make one lvl4, and 540 lvl1 jewels to make one lvl5.

Could it be possible to make brooch jewels tradeable no matter the lvl they are very expensive and it would be great to be able to trade them between accounts

But they won't. That's been asked for since they were first introduced. Only unopened or level 5's are able to be traded.
You know for the price of the big pack they really should increase the bonus like maybe add some runes or something like that for 150 bucks. When I spend 150 bucks I want something that is perm not just a chance to get lvl 3 of one jewel.
