What do we call somebody who says one thing then does another? A Lier!; and what do we call somebody who is consistent in his saying and behavior? somebody trustworthy, reliable!
It's a funny analogy but when I look at the reaction of people towards the new changes or updates in the game, the reaction is that of a betrayal...I mean it's like...they spend all this time and energy to achieve something and all of a sudden, NC makes a change, making all their previous efforts just foolish! It's quite upsetting when you think about it, be that EXP or Adena gathering, any sudden change is backstabbing to player's heart!
The game has set EXP and item drops in the given area and level, and even the Nstore events have got Set Winning chances. We all make our game plans and strategies based on those pre-determined information..so we think...expecting the chances to stay the same...then BOOM! NC changes something and the player betrayed.
My personal example would be..Kartia and Baylor Exp before they did the boosting. I pretty much bought everything in the game....Exp Runes, Exp pots, Vitality maintenance potions + Erupting Potions + Freya Scrolls for all my first 3 x Toons...Like...3 x Destiny packs for 3 toons every month and 200% Exp Rune 1 hr + K95 pass everyday...until my first 3 toons hit LvL 99...and shortly after they hit LvL 99..BOOM EXP special! Full party EXP without any boost = Kartia Boxed run with Full EXP stuff before the change! and now?? They changed it back down again...and I haven't been buying any EXP or vitality stuff for like 2-3 months now.
It's the same thing with Nstore Promos and events. We see the winning in the first day, so we spend lots more on the 2nd day expecting to win a lot but...sooner or later we find out...the chances are not there any more. I noticed the Success Rate for Lavien Rose Jewels became a lot harder than it was on the first 2-3 days. I mean, on the 1st and the 2nd day of the Promo, I made LvL3 Jewels easy then just 1 week later...They failed so many times...
Once you set something fixed, be it Exp or Raid boss drops or Event promo chances, you'd better not change them...cuz when you do...you become inconsistent, unreliable.
So how can we change the game and make things better when people don't want things to change? There are a lot of people who've invested a lot of their time and resources in the game and don't want any new changes whereas majority of people are just getting BORED with the same game content. I know Helios update is coming...but what I am seeing is the Future further than that...
Any successful drug dealer lets you sample a little for free or cheap. They make sure you like it....make sure you get hooked on it....make sure you want more....make sure you need more....then they got ya by your weak addictive personality....you'll buy....you'll all buy....muhuahua!

What do they have to lose by not letting the people have what they want? Oh, the next event, so people will try again! As long as we see some people getting the goodies, we have in our heads that we all have a chance. Constant $$ flow vs a 1 time $$ grab.

You have a great insight, Brosh. I couldn't agree with you more. Nstore promos&events definitely have got the element of gambling for sure. The only thing that I don't understand is why the inconsistency? and why a lot of times not even worth the money? They make 100% profit from the Nstore products. I mean, it's not like they actually need raw materials and manufacture them in a factory! LOL
To be honest, all the Nstore items are items that either shouldn't exist at all at first place or should drop in game. By shopping at Nstore, players are just being nice and generous to NCsoft already. Don't they know?
Consistency is virtue and ignorance is bliss. You are talking to a wall that has been crumbling for past 5 years. They are running a business that barely makes any profit and you want them to make things easy so customers would get what they want faster and cheaper? It doesn't make any sense, this isn't a mom and pop shop selling organic apples, its a corporation making money and known all throughout for having no virtues, they literally have 2 people communicating with their western L2 community lmao.
When it comes to Event promos they are consistent trustworthy and reliable. You can predict when an event is going to happen with reasonable certainty and you know beyond a shadow of a doubt the success rate will change the first and second day. I will only take my chances those two days and after that, if I have NCcoins left I sell them, or in the case of jewels I sold unopen boxes. So to me they are not inconsistent, unreliable…lol just the opposite. As for the rest of it, I just expect change good and bad and they always hold true to that.

They won't say this, but this is mostly true. Based on my previous thought of baiting...I'd say if I were a spender and a gambler, day 1 would be the only day to go for it. Beyond that, you're sinking and they're smiling.
