Why so many crit error crashes lately?
I have 2 computers one AMD and 1 Intel/nvidia both updated in everything and the game crashes non-stop!
Also everyone in my clan gets same crashes as me very often!
Can't be all of us to have faulty systems...

I dont wanna be rude but the whole critical error thingie is bound to NC not your PC nor your client.
Every time it crashes randomly, but if you check the error message you can see FElf. Its means there is something with female elf texture? Today I had 3 different errors with 3 different systextures - FDwarf,FKamael,FDarkElf. The issue is due to that new 2 hour buff appearance.
The solution will come probably at Wednesday when the whole buff will disappear.
Or, plan B:
White assasin appearance.
Well, we need Yidaos confirmation about this bug.
Since there is no 2h buff anymore it will be or the white assasin appearance, or a ninja patch a week ago.
They have to address it ASAP, being in town (Aden) more than 5 min = crit error.
Today I spend 15 mins to try to have online at the same time myself and my iss box for k95 duo...when the 1 was on-line and I was trying to log the other the first was getting crit error and each char was in other machine not the same...
Not to mention I can't even set shop! As soon as I try to put items and prices I get crit error...
Is "funny" how in same time all servers:
get new 100+ online
then lose 300-500
then get 100+
pause with login
and again get 500+
All this in ~30 min real time

Funny, never experienced these crashes on either my laptop or desktop PC.
Windows 10 and Windows 7.
Come to think of it, I never experienced any of these "NCWest sucks they messed things up" problems, funny..
Oh, and I leave my chars on 24/7 in aden.

I don't understand what do you classify as crap on my systems or even in other people's system since I am not the only one who mention this.
The only crap I see is L2. Outdated game engine, crappy bot protection and verified by many people that when other users (we all know who they are) use ranger or other programs they create massive lag and normal users get disconnect. I wouldn't be surprised if they found another "trick" to create packets that crashes the game.

L2 is old game, and my PC almost same years with game.
I play in AMD dual core 4400+ 2.3ghz, old nVidia 8800 > now nVidia 210, old HDD 160gb > old HDD WD 750gb+ new SSD 120, Old 1gb RAM now + 2gb RAM and no problem since Dec 2007 :)

"Fully updated Windows 10" is basically screaming for troubles.
Do you realize how many useless services & bloatware that useless OS is running?

But truth is its an old game and would take too much effort to make it completely stable, simply not worth the cost.

Go ahead and try to play a PS3 game on PS4 for example.

You cant have everything in life, either live with the crashes or simply install a 2nd OS (try a supported OS:D) on your HDD and boot on that whenever you want to play L2, simple.

There are alot of advices how to improve the gameplay easily, even with AMD built system.
That Win10 fully updated is a bit against me.
In the past we had cheaters who used to magic lagg you at pvp just to win. It still exist.
Graphics wise though yes couldnt agree more L2 is way outdated though there is some threads here I recall posted by DiegoVargas and that post content was about a program enhancing the graphics quality of any game its basically like a mod if you play games like Skyrim or fallout 4 etc for pc you'll see that there are things you add in the game folders that enhances the quality of the graphics overall if same thing could be allowed to be applied to L2 it would hugely boosts L2's graphics quality

About the software you're talking about, you can basically achieve the same result by playing around with your monitor settings.

I am sorry for arguing about this but I can't (and I assume not just me) have an outdated O/S (xp, vista, 7 &8-8.1) risking security and/or missing essential features and hardware support just because L2 developers are lazy to develop/upgrade their game engine or...do their job and code properly.
Win 10 has 270Mil activations in its 8 months life so far so they MUST support the mainstream O/S. Win 10 is not an upcoming O/S that will come in the future. Its here right now. I am not gonna argue if it is superior (it is) and if users should upgrade or not(they must).
As for the bloatware, I don't have any, I work in IT since 2001 and I am more than sure in what I do in my systems. Even people who are unfamiliar with advanced settings can google and find how to remove or disable bloatware. If they can find the L2 site, register, verify, download, install and run the game they can find those settings as well.
PS3/4 compatibility..i don't care, I have xbone and it runs everything from 360, maybe sony has to look up to it not the other way around.
I am bashing at them in calm way. A few weeks ago war started in here because of the jewels that affected a few players that paid for those things.
This one as well affect people and yes I did pay as well. Not for jewels but for kama passes, xp buff etc that I lose because I get crit error in the instances. I am not yelling at them because my party had the decency to wait for me to comeback in and kill the last rb (thank you very much guys).
Defacto I know from my clan 12 people who get the same crit error as I do. Some with XP(!), some with win 7. It can't be just me.
P.S. a few weeks ago I didn't have that problem, or it was very rare (1 crit/week). After this maintenance I get it so often

lol well either way arguing about it won't make a difference since you won't expect L2 to suddenly improve its engine although just imagining L2 running on cryengine V is just mind blogging but thats like a dream that will never happen since lets be honest this game up until now is still full of bugs lets just be happy and contented that this game is still breathing (barely) XD

I would settle if they upgraded from Unreal Engine 2.5 to 4.x. That is free engine.

WoW is a game more or less the same age with Lineage2 and while its graphics are cartoonish and so 199x it supports DX 11 and soon I guess DX12.
I think NCSoft has the power to do it as well. I know its more convenient to milk the cow until its dead but still they have to do something to prolong its existence!
Well I agree that they should fix it, but realistically they cant.
My example about PS3/PS4 was just to show even a massive corporation like Sony cant fix the problem for millions of people that want to play their old PS3 games on their new console.
And to be fair, if you run an OS that is not supported you cannot complain at all, even if everything was fine and dandy before update.
I am sure, you like I, would have no issues if you used Windows 7 OS.
About your friends, Well for all we know they have their PCs filled with stupid programs running which causes this.
Also dont forget people LOVE jumping on the hate train once it departs (:D) so they could have had these crashes for a long time, but suddenly 5 people complain = they complain too.
Indeed, my point was though that a lot of people get those crashes but they don't report them. I wouldn't either as I thought it was driver or whatever, but then I am on ventrilo and I hear 1 by 1 my party mates saying "ops I crit error too". People should report those crashes and not assume "its my system's fault". And yes, in many cases it would be, just not this time :rolleyes: .
I hope Helios update would bring some fixes
